Well for accuracy sake what Gerald said to me in Las Vegas was: "Someone might be willing to pay you x now, but down the road 100x."
But you are quite right about Gerald laughing at 500 million for a buy out offer. He and I briefly talked about a buy out. He actually referred to both of us sitting on a beach somewhere sipping on a cold drink in a few years rather than still being with AMBS. I was surprised by his openness about selling the whole kit and kaboodle and I questioned him about this. He responded: "Wouldn't you sell the company if someone offered you 10 billion?" Those are his exact words.
Obviously, he was speaking hypothetically. Nevertheless, I thought it was interesting he threw out the figure 10 billion.
Two months ago when I spoke with him in Santa Monica he said "the current number of MANF indications we are currently talking about only represent a very, very small percentage of all the indications we expect to eventually have." I don't think Gerald would even consider selling the company for 2 billion.
