Astronauts aboard the International Space Station passed over Hurricane Arthur earlier Thursday and captured stunning photos of the brewing storm.

Hurricane Arthur is expected to strike the southern state of North Carolina early Friday and then barrel towards the Maritimes as a tropical storm.
