However, today's breed of teachers is far different from yours. Like all good things, the unions are now out of control. Around here, the administrators rise from the ranks of the teachers. Seems like a conflict of interest. They're not about to turn on their own. There is no incentive to flush the toilet. The tax dollars will flow anyway. They do not have to account for or to a bottom line.
Plus which, you have high school graduates who cannot count back change manually. Doesn't raise my respect for the profession. I am sick of paying big bucks in property taxes for teachers' inflated salaries, pensions, and benefits when I don't see society getting anything in return.
Simplistic, yes.
