Hi Raz,
I'm going to give Brokeback Mountain just a tad less - 4/5 - but will agree to all that you say very eloquently. I recently had an idealistic, 22 year old Liberal Arts student who is getting the best education money can buy, supposedly, try to convince me that this was not a movie about homosexuality but a movie about adultery - it was tough to keep a straight face. He believed he had hit upon something very clever. He also tried to tell me that Crash was not a movie about racism but a movie about frustration (and of course it also WAS about frustration). It was a funny conversation. I asked him what else are they teaching him at that college. He was testing his wits. He just picked the wrong subjects, me and movies. But then again, our conversation regarding politics and spirituality didn't go that much more smoothly. We had a ball.
