I've just put thedirectory.com to the test and I think I like it. It's easy to use and responds very quickly. Also, it seems to have all of the restaurants I was expecting to see plus a few more I didn't know were there. However, one of the things I think it needs at this point are more people using it because I did not see any business reviews, just colored in stars to make it appear that it was reviewed, but I guess that's the point of the advertisements. People participating and giving reviews is what is going to make this site big. Also, i didn't like how you could only see a few businesses at once before having to click on the next set of businesses. It would be nice if you could customize this to see all of them on the same map right away if desired. Lastly, In order to get people to use this and give reviews they'd have to make it easy to sign in. Instead of requiring each person to register through thedirectory.com, which might put most people off from using the service, They should have an option to sign in with facebook, google, etc.
