my MC Hammer story, a bit rough, but i'll leave it unedited .. oh, the Dennis mention was meant to refer to Dennis the Menace ..

Wonderful, Sam, MC HAMMER was the guy who i put
up my hand to at Bally Boys, just one little story.
(have told this before, but can't find it)

He asked, is there anyone here that does not believe in God?

After a pause, couldn't handle the silence so up went the hand. Some others, would have thought yeah, but just couldn't answer. Old MC came over, solicitously put his hand about my shoulder and walked me up to the front. He asked the right one, what do you think of this teacher? Nick, was Dennis and we got along well. He looked up with a smile and a twinkle in his eye and said, "He's the school vagrant" and MC thought OH NO HELL!

Hammer, in the self righteous, ucky tone of a know it all who knew nothing took young Nick literally, and this idiot man told Nick that if he had known Jesus he would not treat me with such disrespect.

After he had insulted the intelligence of us all and upset not a few others with some more evangelic prose; after he had exposed his own utter lack of insight and basic earthly feelings I suggested it was my turn. He was taken aback, but what could he do as i had my right foot on his left shoe(just made that bit up).

He gave me the mike and i told the story of my expulsion from Sunday school for asking too many questions. Don't like to repeat stories, but just had to after watching the fools as their spirits ere wed there. Seemed only fair. fuagf
