"People invested in ERHC need to understand what foolishness it is to compare ERHC at 5 cents with some company listed on a bigger exchange and trading at a much higher price and insist the very same type of shorting or arbitrage action will take place with ERHC. This is utter nonsense. Krom is highly educated but wrong. He has proved this over and over with all this stuff about shorting over the last several months.
He claimed MTO And his Echo were shorting ERHC and that was their motivation for being negative. Quite frankly MTO was/is not that dumb because any stock with any chance of becoming a real company will not be shorted by anyone at the prices per share that Krom said these guys were shorting. Look if someone shorted a 100,000 shares of 7 cents a share stock and is able to cover at 5 cents [ and this is never a sure thing] he would make only $ 2000. His risk if good news comes would be much more than this. Knowledgeable short sellers do not take this kind of risk on an unknown thinly trade no name company period. There are just too many opportunities available elsewhere in the market to take a stupid risk.
Now about arbitrage: The Managers of ERHC are not stupid. They are not going to sell convertible notes to someone who will short and drive the stock into nothing. They quite likely are intelligent enough to sell to someone who they can 'help' understand there is a decent chance for tremendous upside and who is investing in anticipation of participating in that upside, and has no intention of doing arbitrage I would not be at all surprised if that somebody was the eventual partner in Chad.
I do hope all interested owners of ERHC stock come to an understanding of the above. "
