Artecoll (Artefil) does not compete with Botox—it’s a dermal filler used primarily on the nasolabial fold. Botox, when used as a cosmetic treatment, is primarily for brow furrow and upper-face wrinkles. The competition for Artecoll is Restylane and related fillers.
I don’t like the idea of a semi-permanent filler like Artecoll for two reasons, one medical and one financial: 1) If the cosmetic results are bad, you are stuck with them; and 2) You forgo the revenue from repeat treatments. Regards, Dew
