The big amalgamation book says that the surface agreement allowed for reduction in the sixth year to the amount of land that MON [Minas de Oro Nacional, agi's local subsidiary] would actually be using ..... so, assuming that the contract states this plainly, there can be no merit to the current lawsuit .... there can't be much for merit to the other from the thirteen holdouts either, because sixty-five of their fellows voted in favour

But court processes can drag out, anywhere you go ... one time i sued for payment of work, on a case completely plain and simple, cut and dried, i had full evidence and a lien against property, it still took eight months to come up in court - and then the guy settled in the hallway

The company has a large responsibility to the community - this cannot be overstressed ... they appear in all respects to understand this well, judging from public statements and what i've heard they say privately .... logic says that with a billion dollars worth of metal there's plenty for everybody, but all have to work together to get it out efficiently ... at many points some or all of the ejidatarios will ask for more than is possible at the time, that is natural ... best thing is to keep pointing out that the sooner gold is being produced in profitable manner, the sooner there will be something to share

Correct me if i'm wrong on this - i don't think either lawsuit is hampering any actual work, right? ... it's just making financier types nervous?
