Iressa and kinases

Well, I'm no clinician and I suspect that I don't trawl the pages of information available online regarding new drugs as well as most of the posters here. I used the two sites that I'd mentioned in previous posts to look up info on Iressa. A Pubmed search shows that Iressa is a highly specific inhibitor of the tyrosine kinases stimulated by epidermal growth factor. However, it doesn't seem to have a significant effect on survival and I believe that it is no longer being prescribed. Don't get me wrong, I wasn't trying to say that there are/will be no useful kinase inhibitors, just that there are a lot of them being examined and the chance of any one particular one being a magic, specific bullet appears to be small.
