I can see where insurance companies and pension funds would get lower returns, but I think the Fed is taper because they don't like the speculation, particularly in junk bonds, due to the artificially low rates created by QE. There surely must also be some concern about the size of the Fed's balance sheet which is near $4.5Trillion. Just what do they do for an encore when a major financial crisis hits ?
