Remember, the MMs are in the catbird's seat. They can tell where orders are coming from, and who maybe accumulating or liquidating. They are the dealers, so that knowledge is very valuable, but, only on a short term basis. If you are a long term investor, you have the edge because you do not have to trade to make a profit, you can hold your securities until your target is met, and if you are smart, you'll reevaluate any target to see if it's worth selling even then.
