I also found this reference to "overly invested" the most intriquing comment of Umbra's post as this does carry connotations of losing what you cannot afford.

However his comment about a countdown to an "event" can be seen as positive as it refers to something happening as opposed to the last time. With his positive comments about Mr. Brandhuber it doesn't appear we are going to be shut out.

I don't know about a movie but this sure makes for a good mystery novel.
