i think that will be a likely outcome. i don't think that the calculus of dangling some fed agents out there to get shot would have sat well with OSCHA. they avoided the inevitable bloodshed for the moment, and i think the force of law will be applied in the near future, just not on their terms or their turf.

The only way to have escalated the gov force enough to match a bunch of self-styled militiamen and keep the rounder-uppers safe in the face of the numbers the militiamen present would at would have been to call out the National Guard, which would have opened several other cans of worms in nevada. and just over non-payment of grazing fees for 20 years, which the wingers whipped into some bizarre story line of Lexington and Hereford or something like that.

When enough people shout threats, there are bound to be some that actually mean them, i guess that is why there a law against it.
