Speaking of the AVT Inc V Alan Brochstein lawsuit, why isn't Alan defending himself? He failed to file his answer withing the 30 day time frame after he was served.

So, what did he do with the $12 grand he received as donations to hire a lawyer and fight this lawsuit?
My choices are to try to settle with them, which would be convenient but just wrong, or to fight the suit, which means I have to hire a lawyer in California with a retainer just to start of $10,000. I am told that to file a counter-suit could cost $25,000 or more.
Brochstein and Marketfy split the revenue from 420 Investor’s subscriptions, but “Alan receives the lion’s share of revenue,” Bazzy said. It’s certainly a living — with overall revenues topping $84,000 per month in their current structure and more than $150,000 per month after they up the subscription fee and reach 3,000 paying users.
I see a default judgement in the very near future.
Default judgment Default judgment is a binding judgment in favor of either party based on some failure to take action by the other party. Most often, it is a judgment in favor of a plaintiff when the defendant has not responded to a summons or has failed to appear before a court of law.
