If i were a patient, I wouldn't want 8 weeks of GILD's regimen (and I question now if they get approved for 8 weeks).

I certainly agree with the first part of your assertion—i.e. I wouldn’t take 8 weeks of GILD’s regimen if I were an HCV patient.

Whether the FDA/EMA will approve an 8-week Sovaldi + Ledipasvir regimen based on the ION-3 data is debatable. When I first saw the ION-3 data in December, my kneejerk response was that GILD wouldn’t even seek approval for an 8-week regimen, but that turned out to be wrong.
