How curious that they wait until the very last day of the 7-10 day window that they themselves set in order to announce a new delay that, because the change has to be made in China, will take months.
As with most other official statements out of this company, Mr. Taylor's statement, especially combined with his ranting on this board last night, raise more questions than they answer.
For example: you were going to ship them, now they need upgrades at the factory?!!? Does that mean you're going to ship tens of thousands of units, the ones in your warehouses now, back to China?
Or did those units in the warehouse now never exist? The old reality is now inoperative, and this is the new reality?
What's the impetus for installing Android 4.4? It doesn't change the codec performance. What does it accomplish, and why can't the end user hit the Update button him- or herself?
And lastly, just because we now know for a fact that you read and post here, Mr. Taylor, at what bitrate does h.264 streaming through the NP-1 exceed 1080p from Blu-Ray in quality?
"we have decided to go pre-install the new operating system, Android 4.4 at the factory."
