Boy they sure are hanging on to that response aren't they.

Wouldn't that be like saying to a small business owner:

"Without SBA assistance, your business wouldn't exist, so we are going to tax you more or you can close your business, we dont care which."

it is also it is important to note that without Federal assistance, shares in these enterprises (Fannie & Freddie) likely would have lost all value.
