Most of these people will only offer platitudes of non-disclosure regardless of how you frame or approach your inquiries. At this point in the game, stridently beseeching them isn't the most prudent tactic in my opinion. As you stated, they are biding their time and there's no sense in giving them any reason to blow in direction of their own resentful accord.
