Voskuhl is brilliant and construction of this trial is solid. Reality is that prior results of 6 study subjects wouldn't even show the possible multiple confounders they will have to crunch out on this study as they're quantifying results. When people who haven't been involved in or studied the clinical trial process want to know whether the results will be good or not - I always make a point to differentiate between an evidence-based response and a personal one. It is important, in my opinion, to structure feedback based on both in order to encourage risk being taken in informed and not emotional way. I hope for and anticipate positive results - but a supporting study of 6 women does not support that hope, nor does it support a negative premise. I'm just a stickler for separating reality-based from emotionally-based response.
