My "day" at GTC......
Because I had a ten oclock surgery, I did not think getting to the Shareholders was in the cards, but the case went well and I finished at about 11:15 and was free till 1:15 so I decided to try catch the end of the meeting. I got there at about 11:40,, the meeting was over and the only ones left were Flo, his lovely wife and daughter, Newberry and Dr. Meade. I talked to FLO who gave me the bad news about the RS...We agreed to talk later after he had eaten..He introduced me to Dr. Meade...
Dr. Meade and I had a delightful conversation (lasting about fifty minutes).. Where he explained all about his personal baby CD-137, a complex immune enhancer-inhibitor,,,with many many possibilities in conditions involving the immune system...he seemed particularly excited about athersclerosis (hardening of the arteries) which modern pathophysiologists concede is an inflamatory disease,,but clinicians do not treat it as such...he noted GTC has successfully created basically all the FOBs at present,,,,and due to the structure of the glycolisation that occurs naturally in the mammary gland,,all of GTCs FOBs are more active than their cell culture cousins. Same for the ADCCs...The natural killer cells "prefer" GTc's antibodies...the problem, as we have discussed on this board, is the FDAs insistance on maintaining the exact manufactering technique throughout for any single drug..
He is "not doing Atryn" at present but I convinced him to look into to Dr Coumo's work on Atryn's effect on Brain survival after oxygen deprevation...and he promised he would...we talked about alot of other things,,he is excited about Ovation and told me the company principals were too and that Ovation was interested in CNS diseases. I had to leave,, but he ask for my tel number and Email...He has some very exciting ideas and a first rate mind... I would not be surprised if the transgenic platform becomes as dominant as I predict (be careful about my predictions...lol) that he might eventually be in line for a Nobel Prize...
