Here's something new for any of you that trade options, or want to trade US Treasury note futures. Might start seeing closer spreads in the options.

Interactive Brokers is extremely pleased to announce the commencement of trading on the Boston Options Exchange (BOX) Friday, February 6, 2004. BOX will launch with 5 options classes, and will continue to add options classes scaling up to 250 classes as soon as practicable. As an Interactive Brokers customer, you will benefit from the increased competition offered by BOX's Price Improve Period (PIP) auctions.
Interactive Brokers' customers submitting Smart marketable options orders will have their orders routed to BOX for price improvement if Interactive Brokers has information that there is an NBBO improvement order on the opposite side of the trade. Customers may also directly submit their orders to BOX in order to benefit from price improvement. We will be informing you of special order types specifically tailored to BOX in the near future. If you are currently subscribed to US options trading permissions and market data, nothing further is required to trade on BOX.
In addition, Eurex US will commence trading Sunday, February 8, 2004, offering 2, 5 and 10-year US Treasury Note futures, as well as 30-year US Treasury Bond futures. Futures options will also be offered on all these products. If you are currently subscribed to US futures trading permissions and market data, nothing further is required to trade on Eurex US at this time.
