Yes, this is a bug that got through when "reactions" were added. If all goes well, I'm anticipating that it'll likely be resolved today.
For anyone whose second language wasn't "emojis", here's a comprehensive guide to not only what they're called but the general intended meaning:
200+ Most Popular Emojis of 2023 Explained
It's right next to the Like button.
We don't pre-approve posts.
Having said that, "reactions" is where that could be used without cluttering up the board with a single emoji. :)
Yeah, so basically, if I see a post that's funny - instead of posting, PMing or keeping it to myself, I could put a "reaction" on the post. It's similar to "Like" just with more nuanced reactions.
If you mean search bar, yes, it is.
Fwiw, I'm of the age that being able to figure out what those small images are requires a good bit of magnifying for me. :)
Search "clap"...I added clapping hands as a reaction on your last post. :)
Try it!
That is odd. Lucky said refreshing with Ctrl F5 worked for him.
Maybe try refreshing with Crtl F5. If that doesn't work, you could clear ADVFN cookies. I had some weird funkiness going on last night and that fixed it for me.
I see the Grandfathered image next to your name: https://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/profileimages.asp?fromprofile=113
They're still there. Just in different places.

I've long thought that Pokemon characters were modeled after creatures of the deep. I could absolutely see the dumbo octopus being a Pokemon character. lol
"I always wanted to be an underwater photographer" Oh, wow! That would be an amazing profession!
Have you ever been scuba diving? Years and years ago I met some guys on a beach when on vacation who asked if I wanted to go diving. I was all for it, got in their van, went back to their house to pick up the suits and then went to a remote beach! I was a little naive in my youth. ha
We got about a 1/2 a football distance from shore and I was very uncomfortable. It kind of felt like claustrophobia but I obviously wasn't in a confined space. I felt like I couldn't breathe, though I could. Anyway, we came back to shore and they drove me back to the hotel. Thank goodness! And that was my first and last attempt at scuba.
I think I mostly remember it from school cafeterias.
Ha, yeah, I figured out that I was missing a key piece of information from k9's question and your reply. ha
Now that I understand that - I can imagine why it's worth the effort. :)
I love grilled pineapple and I love pork/bacon and pineapple together.
Do you mean the pineapple enzyme makes the bacon more tender? I've never considered "tender" to be an adjective that I'd like for my bacon. "Crispy" is generally what I look for.
I couldn't find the actual piece that I listened to but here's an earlier account of what the surface of the asteroid was like. (I may have gotten the word "liquid" wrong in remembering)
https://www.nasa.gov/feature/goddard/2022/surprise-again-asteroid-bennu-reveals-its-surface-is-like-a-plastic-ball-pit
That was very cool! The octopus comes into view at about the :54 mark if anyone is impatient. Although, it was kind of fun hearing them fret about whether they're going to get a siting though and then the quiet excitement when it comes into view...sort of sets the mood.
The science thing I've also found very interesting these days is the recovering of materials from the asteroid. I was listening to something on NPR and they were talking about how many years this was in the making. Going from memory it sounds like it was at least an 8 year thing. A strange part was that when they were trying to get the sample they expected the surface to act like a hard surface. But instead it reacted like a liquid. The sampling tube? or whatever actually ended up being absorbed into the asteroid. So they were able to collect a larger sample variety than they ever dreamed. That just kind of drove home how very "alien" this is. She said the samplings would be likely be studied for decades all over the world.
The next project is launching another sampling that they are planning on it rendezvousing with the next asteroid in 2025. It's just kind of mind boggling to consider that it's going to take 3 years to get to the interception point - if all goes as planned. Then a couple of years likely to get the sampling they need. Then another 3 years or so to get back.
It's a really nice tradition that I bet your son carries on. :)
I think you've posted that recipe before because I'm pretty sure I've made that. If not, it was a very similar recipe. I remember it being really easy and just a lighter easy meal.
I was at the grocery store the other day and saw a frozen Salisbury steak and mashed potato dinner. I realized I prob haven't had that meal since I was a child and feeling nostalgic grabbed it without much thought. Decided to give it a try and as it's warming up, I'm reading the box. 47%!!! of the daily allotted sodium in one serving!
I don't know how people who regularly eat frozen meals like that don't have blood pressure through the roof.
I'm not a good enough cook (too new to it still) that I feel comfortable playing around with recipes a whole lot. I don't necessarily know when "something doesn't look right". And when there's conflicting advice in the comments that also throws me lol.
I would like to go to one of the 5 star reviewed recipes and it be pretty spot on as written. Otherwise, call me crazy, but change your rating if it's not actually for the recipe you're reviewing but often a completely different one that you created.
Maybe I'm the odd person out on this but drives me bonkers.
McDonald's has a "secret" menu item available during the window where they switch from breakfast to lunch the McBrunch.
"It marries two cheeseburger patties, bacon, scrambled eggs (not the round McMuffin variety), and a hash brown between two sesame seed buns."
I have a vague memory of when reviews of recipes were more authentically about the recipe as written. (I.e. "I gave this 3.5 stars because the liquid called for was double the amount needed. I also think that the ratio of vegetables/meat/starch was off balance and think it would be a better dish with twice the amount of x". Maybe it's a false memory though...
Inevitably these days they're regularly 5 stars with changed/added/omitted ingredients, altered quantities and adjusted cooking times to the original recipe.
Maybe it's just one big one...Costco spent 1 billion building Nebraska poultry farm
Ended up going down some rabbit hole and came across this post: https://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/read_msg.aspx?message_id=133830751
@Porgie Tirebiter seems that you should be a bigger contributor here! There's lots of grilling talk on here so you should fit right in. :)
That was very interesting! The shoe size (US 12) threw me for quite a bit until I remembered that kids have their own number system separate from an adults. I was scratching my head trying to figure out why they thought a size 12 shoe would be a child's. lol
My eyesight is complicated...my prescription fluctuates throughout the day. Many, many years ago I had radial keratotomy which was/is? a scalpel surgery to improve far to restore the one that helps you see things further away more clearly. It basically redefines the shape of your cornea (going from memory) though so as you age that is somewhat problematic. I have varying difficulty these days reading things that are small no matter how close I can get them.
Apparently that product and pricing in instrumental in their marketing strategy. They have their own farm(s) so that they can control size/weight of chickens. I read something about this a couple of years ago but I'm not sure if that piece is common knowledge these days.
Another violation of privacy after being warned not to do that.
@Poo28 This is your final warning. You want to talk about and attack other Users, do it here.
I was asked to review the board that I believe is currently the topic of your posts here. I went back about 100 posts to get a feel for the board. What I saw was that everyone was predominantly arguing about the stock/company. You come along and want to talk about who you believe to be the bashers and your opinion on that. Then other people join in, doing the same thing. Nothing about the company - only about other Users. Then it somewhat dies down and you come in and do the exact same thing again and it starts the snowball again. I saw 3 of your posts and the exact same thing happened each time. It only stopped there because you were already limited on that board.
As much as you appear (based on your posts) to believe that the topic of discussion is your opinion of other Users, it's not. It remains discussion of the company and the stock.
My guess is that you likely wouldn't feel this way if you chose to post about the company/stock.
That video reminded me of this one. It was such a fun video!
@IH Geek [Tom] or @IH Geek [Chuck] this is an interesting suggestion.
