HA!
Lots of truth there.
Not only that, malpractice insurance rates are considerably lower as well...
...and to dovetail on that, Joe posted this LINK Samsung eyes improved AI chips with "competitive advantage"
According to the report, the so-called GDP advantage represents three aspects of Samsung chipmaking. First, it references the gate-all-around (GAA) chip fabrication technology that Samsung has employed in recent production. It also includes high-bandwidth memory and advanced packaging technology. That’s how you get the acronym GDP: GAA, DRAM, Packaging.
From last month to show the relationship: “We are working with half of the world’s top semiconductor producers today and we have been doing work in GAA and in DRAM,” said Mears.
YW! It's more of a pastime for me than a chore 😉
...and then, 48 hours later on the other side of the country...(New York)

Best of luck my friend.
Just a matter of time...😉
Appears, via the S-twits chatter box, that AKM (Asahi Lasei Microdevices) has gained significant traction as being the suspected company in question.
I enjoy the all the cyber sleuth's hypotheses, not that it really matters (for me) in the long run "who" the entity is. It does make me curious as to which poster(s) will be able to lay claim to have called it correctly lol
Lots of expected chatter about which JDA this belongs to-
Joe's take: The simple reason Scott wanted this news out before Thursdays conference? He can now update the engagement chart to show a second Phase 4. Thats what he did when JDA 1 finished the tech transfer.
Me? I'm just glad to see continued (as well as extended) progress 🤑
Oh yeah, ouch there too 😧
Back in the day, when I was trading for reelz, I learned to use under-the-radar type of business activities to evaluate what I considered the real condition of the economy. Being from Michigan, back in the 70's through the 90's I had friends who worked in automotive related industries (as well as the actual auto makers). Working in medicine, I had access to to all sorts of information such as equipment makers GE, Siemens, etc,. or, pharmaceuticals not to mention the center for the latest insurance stats... The point is, regardless of whatever monthly or quarterly gubbimnet statistic was touted as a harbinger of the economy going forward, MY sources would show me direction or inclination long before those gubbiment factoids were released. I got first-hand knowledge of parts orders slowing down- pending lay-offs weeks in advance of announcements. In other words, I was able to see "trends" in several facets of the economy before the talking-heads started spouting off. I'm not talking about individual stocks, but my retirement/IRA money that was tied up in mutual funds mostly tied to indexes (as was the general rule at the time) . My advantage was in my timing of the market- especially the 90's. I did very well timing the indexes .. at least in my little cranny of the U.S.
My discretionary money stock-picking prowess, on the other hand, was not as fortunate... but that's another story...
So, being a pilot, that little diddy about the FedEx pilots that I received in an email from a pilot's newsletter reminded me that this was the type of information that I would've used a decade or two ago...😉
The actual pulse of the economy?
FedEx has given some career advice to its pilots: Go work for someone else.
Airline has hundreds of excess pilots as freight volumes contract
FedEx Express is encouraging pilots at its cargo airline to take jobs at a regional passenger carrier because there isn’t enough shipping demand to fill everyone’s flying schedules. It’s the latest step over the past 12 months to align FedEx’s air network with a sharp decline in package volumes and improve efficiency as the parcel sector settles to a lower post-pandemic baseline that could last years.
Pat DiMento, FedEx’s vice president of flight operations and training, said in a Friday memo to flight crews that the airline is “significantly overstaffed” and can’t guarantee pilots more than the minimum number of hours set in their contracts.

Bond market/ treasury yields are calling the shots and the computers (algos) are the ONLY players making the market.
Either take advantage of the asymmetric trading of the algos (buy the beat-downs), or, sit back and wait it out. You can not
win against the HFTs/algos.
I remember when my dad used to say the same thing and I always rolled my eyes.
You're retired! How can you be "busy"!?
I get it now...🤔
I have not.
Quick look, it appears to me to be a three-way-
One public, one privately held, both merging and becoming a subsidiary of the parent (Urgent.ly)
(Otonomo Technologies Ltd. (Nasdaq: OTMO) ("Otonomo") and U.O Odyssey Merger Sub Ltd ("Merger Sub") (the "Merger Agreement"), pursuant to which, among other things, Merger Sub will merge with and into Otonomo, with Otonomo surviving as a direct wholly owned subsidiary of Urgently)
I started reading the associated filings and realized I haven't had to do this for at least a decade now.... and now that I'm retired, I'm not nearly as interested lol..
Waaaay too much math and DD for me at this stage of my investment life.
But I certainly wish you the best of luck and I will watch this for awhile to see what happens😉
GLTY!
...and I was right (#msg-173083310)

To reiterate- I'm NOT an active buyer- I already own a (small) position. I may add or flip.
This is not a reco but a highlight- I'm fascinated by the fact that ARK continues to buy this day after day....
