It was in the business section. Re the FBI agent accused of providing the info that Anthony Elgindy posted on his web site. SH
Anyone see the article about Seaview in the St Pete Times today? SH
Dan, I know the camera can see in the dark, but can it see ghosts? Now that would be a hot selling point! :) SH
Did anybody viewing the photo on the first link notice the man's face in the water at 1:00 above the diver's head? It's clear as can be. The picture looks like his left eye is shut with bruising underneath it and his right eye is slightly open. It also looks like his nose is swollen and out of place as if broken. Double exposure? Any missing persons out there Dan? Pretty spooky. SH
Shucks, Paul. I'm blushing. Thank you for the compliment. I thought I had had the thing edited but I guess I don't have the knew system down. Good that you had the opportunity to visit HQ. I agree that the view is spectacular.
It was my understanding when FG and I visited there last year that the entire floor was not going to be strickly SEVU offices. There was some talk about a travel agency as well as a real estate office and McBride and Assoc PR firm. Haven't heard anything else since then so I cannot give anymore input about that.
Looks like you and your family picked a cold time to come to town. Normally, the cold fronts blow through and then there is a warming trend. Seems as if that didn't happen over the holidays this year. I was comforted that we took the right time to travel since at least the North is equipped better to deal with the cold than we are her in Florida.
You are also quite correct about the fishing in the winter. Thefish seem to dig in and are quite sluggish. You are lucky if you caught Sheepshead. They are quite good eating although it takes several to make a decent meal.
Glad your kids enjoyed the Pier. Hope they made it up to the second floor where there is a nice aquarium and educational vidios. Next time you take a trip to Florida in the winter, I would STRONGLY reccommend a trip to Crystal River. The Manatees are everywhere and it may be one of the last chances to see them before they are totally wiped out. It is consideered harassment if you try to chase them but they seem to have an affinity for humans. They comeright up to youand beg to get their bellies rubbed. If we could just convince boaters to put a prop guard on their motors it would stop a lot of the damage done to these most incredible creatures.
Well it's almost Monday morning so I'll stop all of this digression and quit interrupting the "serious" stock discussion on this thread. Perhaps we can take it to EXHIB if it's still opporational or start a Travel thread.
Enough for now, SH
Hi Y'all. It seems that the fun never ends on the SEVU thread. I'm still holding all of my shares. I won't have to pay for a legal opinion come May. If I sell, then I will still have lost less than I did on other BBB investments. So overall, I still consider myself somewhat of a winner (not whiner) here.
The good news is that SEVU hasn't totally tanked like some of the other "investments" I made in the past several years.
<OT> Had a good but cold time up in the north of this glorious county of ours. Made it to Kittty Hawk the first day and got a great room on the beach for $35.00 a night. It was hilarious when we stopped at a pretty decent restaurent, grungy and road weary, my husband in slippers, asking if they would serve us. My tooth brush fell out of my bag as we were escorted in.
We stopped and did the Kitty Hawk tour and pressed on. We decided to take the coastal route from there on to the north instead of going back the three hours to I 95. We made to Rehobeth Beach where a friend of ours happened to to be home at "The Farm House South". We went out to dinner and afterwords went shopping at a kitchen gadget store. I really had to pee and made my husband pull over and let me run in to a food court. When I was finished doing my business, I came out to find a state trooper about to write a sixty dollar ticket to my husband for "parking", even though he was sitting with the motor running, in a fire zone. I did some fast talking, which you all know I am quite capable of, and the trooper went to his vehichle mumbling something about the fact that he had just given the woman in the vehichle in front of us a ticket and had to be fair. He came back and handed the ticket to us and said "Merry Christmas" at which point my husband and I were both spouting profanity under our breath about this poor schmuck just trying to be fair, when we looked at the ticket and it was marked "void". Being relieved of that burden we pressed on to ththe farm house. It was a really cool, very old farm house with five silos and lots of other farm structures. He took us on a tour of his house and when we got to the attic I asked him if the house was haunted. He started to reply when all the lights in the house went out. How weird is that ????? We had a lovely time there and pressed on to the north. Philadelphia was our destination. We made it there in two hours from Rehobeth(sp?)
So that was the a synopsis of the first three days of our three week voyage. If you want to hear the rest, let me know. Otherwise, I'll bore you no longer. SH
<OT> Leaving in the early morning for a three week vacation. Hope you all have a safe and happy holiday. SH
Bizz, Rich referred to it as "the race party". That was the weekend of the power boat races here in St Pete. Those races are fun to watch. Particularly fascinating to watch the spotter choppers overhead. Those pilots must have nervers of steel. My guess is they're ex-Viet Nam chopper pilots. My brother was a door gunner. He's got some really wild stories to tell about those pilots. Anyway, I don't think the party had anything to do with SEVU. I hope I'm wrong but with no PR's I don't think so. SH
"I know that everyone here will be respectful at this sad time"
I would have hoped so but it seems a few just can't help themselves. SH
I am STUNNED. I took a break from the boards for a couple of days and just got a call from my husband telling me the news of Rich's passing. I came on line to find out if it was really true.
Irrespective of all the accusations of wrong doings, I always liked the man. I am very sad. To all of you that were close to Rich, I will be remembering you in my prayers. I posted this from the Bhagavad Gita after Arch Cook's death. I think it's time to repost it:
"It painful to be in the world
It is painful to leave the world
It is painful to be alone amongst the many.
The road of transmigration
Is a road of pain for the traveler
Let him rest by the road
And be free"
Rest easy Rich, SH
I'm still around but very limited in time, hence, not much posting. Momma is back in town for the winter so I've been cleaning her house every day this past week. Have to take my time because of the blown discs in my neck. I'll be back for a party soon. I'm in much need of some R&R. See you all again real soon. SH
FG, What about the mussels I made for dinner when you were in town? SH
Moron, I'm over it as well. Way too much bickering going on for my state of mind right now. I will still check in from time to time but I know longer intend to contribute until the recent issues are resolved. Hope to hear from you at some later date. In the meantime, best wishes to all of you still willing to hang in here. BTW, I still hold all my shares for the time being. Am hoping for a good third Q report. Regards, SH
So did you ever follow through and test it out and compare it with other products? I may have missed your report if you did. I'm interested in your opinion. When doing so, you need to keep in mind that you probably got an older model so the quality of the picture may not be as good as what is currently in production. SH
We also have to remember that the return on investments that are successful in class action suits is about .05 with the bulk of the money going to the attorneys. SH
I wasn't there when you got the camera from SEVU but when we got together after your meeting I was left with the impression that they had given it to you. SH
FG, I think Moron made a good point re: the PP. If the management team is working for little or no salary then the offering would kill two birds with one stone. I.E., raise money for operation expenses and rewarding those that busting their behinds for little or no money. JMHO. SH
I don't see why the debentures were illegal in that we took the risk by having to hold onto them for a period of one year. Even though the stock was trading at a higher rate than what we purchased them for, the risk made the purchase price fair. We were locked in and could not trade. Also, I believe the debentures were available to anyone that wanted in. JMHO, SH
For the most part, all we have ever done on these boards is speculate. SH
With security tightened up at the major airports, we now have to worry about the crop dusters carrying poison. The impact of this is going to be very far reaching. SH
MSNBC made the announcement today that "the litttle guy saved the day". SH
Moron, re the PP. I was discussing this with someone VERY KNOWLEGABLE in finance yesterday. When I first revealed the details he thought it was a reasonable way to raise funds. When we went on further in our discussion he felt that the offering to insiders was a major faux pas. If the PP was offered to a bank he felt it was a positive way to raise capital. Offering it to insiders, he felt was not the way to go. JMHO SH
BB, Ybor city in Tampa tried putting security cameras up in the streets some time ago and there was a big backlash about it. They were doing this for the very reason you suggested, looking for known criminals in an attempt to circumvent possible crimes in the area. I believe the ACLU is involved, claiming that it violated the rights of law abiding citizens. That's our ACLU for you. The same group that is defending NAMBLA for their right to free speech.
I saw an interview with someone today discussing tightening up airline security that recommended, among other things, putting security cameras on planes with a monitor in the cockpit that would also be viewed from the ground. Sounded like it would be the perfect venue for Secureview's cameras. SH
FNN RULES !!!!! SH
Paul he/she said 3'rd and 4th Q AND 2002 not in 2002. SH
Yeah I wouldn't mind an official PR right about now myself. Probably get lost in all the other news, however. With all the news about shorting airlines and reinsurance companies etc., I'm concerned that the SEC oversight of BB stocks is going to be seriously lacking, even more so than it was before. SH
Hi Dan, welcome back. The T Shirt is very nice. I like it even more because the colors are RED WHITE AND BLUE. It's come in handy for me this week because wardrobe doesn't have a lot of red items in it. SH
I heard that he did make it out. I wish they all had :( SH
Yes, I agree and thought that might be a stategy. What do we do then? SH
I saw a photograph of people descending the staircase of one of the towers. There was one lone firefighter ascending. I remember thinking that he had the face of an angel. SH
Carolyn, I couldn't get it to load. I guess I don't have the right hardware. What is it? SH
I'm not convinced the Afghanis aren't going to turn Bin Laden over. Their announcement today that they going to leave the decision to the clerics of Islam may very well let their government off the hook and therefor open the door for them to turn him in. We'll know one way or the other tomarrow. SH
I'm really much better today. Just went out and bought a frame for the 8x10 photo I've got of my son in his dress blues. He really is a good looking kid, if I say so myself. I invited a friend over for a drink. Her name is AuntieJ so, if she shows up and I'm not here put one on my tab OK? I told her we really need more women here:) SH
Unbelievable!!!!!!! SH
Hi Carolyn, I'm finally coming out of my funk. What a week, huh? I was singing "New York State of Mind" all week and this morning, the music in my head changed to "New York"
"These little town blues are melting away.
I'll make a brand new start of it in old New York.
If I can make it there, I'll make it anywhere.
It's up to you, New York-New York"
We're gonna be just fine. Have you noticed how nice everyone is being to each other when they're out and about. It's really quite something :) SH
Mornin' jsut watched the opening bell ceremony. Kept thinking of the "Ladies and gentlemen, start your engines" from racing. A cup of coffee please. Do we have "New York" by Sinatra on the juje box? SH
I have been thinking about this concept for days. As an artist, I am always thinking of images. First and foremost, I want to see the Twins rebuilt exactly as they were. They were something to see when visiting NYC. We have all seen the images of the destruction in the city. My concept for the memorial is the steel girders of the remains with the phoenix, in all its glorious might, arising out of the steel claws that remain. What say you? SH
I don't have much BUT I ain't sellin nothin' SH
Carolyn, "Out of the ashes shall arise the Phoenix" SH
Joe. remember the most often quote by JFK, our most beloved president, "Ask not what your country can do for you, but ask what you can do for your country."
If I can take what I read from your posts as true, and for now I am giving you the benefit of the doubt, you are the same age as my two sons. I will talk to you as I would to them.
If you had to endure the tragedy of growing up in the environment that you claim you did, then you have my deepest sympathies. There are many others that endured your hardships that do not have the same callousness that you appear to have. Some have risen to higher callings and some have sank to the depths that none of us can fathom. You have steeled yourself to pain. You have done what you feel has compensated for the injustices that were inflicted upon you, as unfair that they were, and in your mind have compensated for those inadequacies by doing everything you can by making money to make it all better.
I wish I could kiss your troubled brow and make it all better, but I can't. You need some help, IMO, to resolve your issues. If you REALLY have all that money that you claim to have made, spend a little of it on yourself. Find a good therapist and work through your issues. YOU ARE TOO YOUNG TO HAVE THIS MUCH BURDEN ON YOU. My heart is breaking for you too.
You are to be commended for trying to take care of those that should have taken care of you. Now, it's time to take care of yourself. You are a good son.
Remember this... "The greatest thing that you will ever learn is to love and be loved in return." SH
