For years I have occasionally searched for the cause of death for Dr. Philip Thorpe. Maybe I just don't search in the right places, but I never find anything. Does anyone know. All of the company patents started with him and were developed by him. They always seemed to be the cornerstone of PPHM's future early on. It almost makes me think these guys pulled a "The Fugitive" to line their pockets. But what do I know? I have been here for 15 years.
Reminds me of that great quote from Dolly Parton concerning her boss in the movie "9 to 5". Not PC to say these days.
Thank you CP. Those few paragraphs explained a lot to me. I appreciate the response.

For those more knowledgeable than me. I saw a commercial on television for OPDIVO. It said that it worked with a persons immune system. Does that cross over into any of Dr. Thorpe's/PPHM's patents? It also mentions PD-1 in some of its content on the website. It also warned that it might affect healthy tissue. That does not seem to be a concern with bavituximab does it? Sorry if this has been explained before. I only check ihub from time to time.
Thanks TB
I was watching MSNBC/Squawk Box this morning before going to work, and PPHM ran across the bottom ticker tape up $0.04. It zipped right by before I looked too close. It surprised me. I don't see them very often on the ticker. I thought maybe something something would be up today. Oh well, maybe tomorrow, or the next day or the next.........

I just read a short article on Graphene. Do you think CTKH might have figured it out?
> Samsung Researchers Celebrate Promising Graphene Breakthrough
> A new manufacturing technique could accelerate use of the world's strongest material in computers and other products.
>
> Flexible displays, terahertz chips, and vastly improved electronics just got closer to emerging from laboratories and reaching the market, thanks to the work of the Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology (SAIT) and Sungkyunkwan University in Seoul, South Korea.
>
> Samsung Electronics announced Friday that its researchers have found a way to accelerate the commercialization of graphene, a material endowed with exceptional conductivity, strength, flexibility, lightness, and transparency.
>
> Discovered in 2004 by professors Andre Geim and Konstantin Novoselov at the University of Manchester -- a feat that earned them the 2010 Nobel Prize for Physics -- graphene is seen as a wonder material that can revolutionize products and industrial processes across multiple industries.
>
> Graphene is the strongest material in the world; it's stronger than diamond and about 300 times stronger than steel. Yet it's flex ible. It's also the thinnest material in the world; it can be made in sheets one atom thick, which also makes it transparent. It's the best electrical conductor known.
Does Ramucirumab fall under 1 of the Peregrine/Thorpe patents?
Forgive my ignorance, but how did Dr. Philip E. Thorpe die. I have been with PPHM since the TCLN days, but don't keep a close watch on it. I was surprised to find out that he passed away last year, but I can't find a cause of death in all of the announcements. TIA. TB
Years ago I emailed Dr. Thorpe at his UT Southwestern online email and he was nice enough to respond. I only asked a couple of simple questions, but he answered them. I am also in the Dallas area, but have never gone down to UTSW. It is right across from Parkland , I think. TB
I hate to be the 'Glass Half Empty' person here but, how many Big Pharma's don't want Bavi to succeed? If Bavi turns out to be the next SOC, how much money will PPHM be taking out of the pockets of the big boys? (Not to mention how many people will be kept on inferior medicines while Big Pharma makes more $$$) Well/Cured patients are not good for business.

Unfortunately I have been in this stock way too long. Democrats and Republicans, now, have been in charge whether it be the Congress or the White House. The SEC has done nothing to keep this BOD from continually diluting this shareholders investment. One of my first penny stocks(by price, still on NASDAQ) as TCLN at $0.25 (1997 only 15 years ago), see terrygd post #17685 from 2007 tells the story from 1997.
TB
Pohl is on the board at PPHM. He is in charge of their conpensation. Look at the funding "Deals" with Peregrine Pharma. Shareholders get diluted and take a beating while the BOD is compensated better than companies with actual product revenue. What does Pohl know about Pharmaceuticals? He certainly didn't increase shareholder value before he left PTSC.
TB
Same here. Voted "NO" for more shares.
TB
All said and done, should it have taken the FDA 1 year from last years "labeling issues",to give us an NSE?
Pathetic.
TB
I would like to know if Pohl has ever done ANYTHING to help PPHM or his old company PTSC.
Info or links would be appreciated. (Don't waste your time. The answer is still zero)

Low, I wanted to get your 2 cents on this. You were gone for a week or so around the date of my original post on June 25.
#17083:
General question for Low or anyone else. I watch Low from the sidelines and enjoy all of his insights. My question is about PPHM Peregrine Pharma. It is being added back to the Russel 3000 after falling off for a year or two. Volume question for 6/25/10. pretty much an average day until just before 4:00pm. (300,000 to 500,000 shares traded) Then end of day into after hours trading 9 million to 13 million shares(depending on source) traded at pretty steady prices. How can that many shares trade without a spike up or down? Now I wait until Monday to see what happens.
Thanks TB
Dffhoggs was nice enough to reply with his thoughts. PPHM and around 9 million shares in one day? (at Russell rebalancing) And a 50%+ drop over the past weeks with no real news good or bad. Manipulation? Conference call tomorrow.
Thanks TB
Thanks, makes sense. If funds work together they don't get hurt by the pressure to sell and prices going down for those leaving the Russell 3000 and they don't get hurt by rising prices on buying the stocks going onto the Russell 3000. Fair enough, but I sure would have liked my PPHM to have gone up on the Russell 3000 re-alignment. They seem to have pushed the price down over the last couple of weeks in preparation for this.
Nice Hogmobile.... sueeeey. Razorback I presume.

Pohl's old company, PTSC, Patriot Scientific has done nothing but flounder for years, They used to have a ton of cash on hand for their patents, not anymore. Pohl is a board member and is on the Compensation Committee and the Nominating Committee. What has he EVER done for PPHM?? I guess he helps keep everything "AS IS".
TB
Thanks moxa, I guess I am confused though. This is from a previous Pacer post:
"Staying this case at this time is in the Court’s best interest, because there is a high likelihood that no asserted claim will emerge from reexamination. As the chart below indicates, reexamination will affect every claim in this case. Patent-in-suit Current status of reexamination
The ’336 patent All claims finally rejected
The ’890 patent Reexamination granted on all claims
The ’749 patent Reexamination granted on all asserted claims; claim 1 currently rejected
The ’148 patent Most asserted claims currently rejected; request for reexamination of remaining asserted claims near filing The ’584 patent1 Only remaining claim, 29, already amended 1 TPL has made no counterclaim of infringement against HTC as to the ’584 patent in this case. Stays are appropriate where, as here, a stay: (1) will simplify the issues in the case;"
So is "All claims finally rejected" good for PTSC? or does it mean we lost that one? So the CLAIMS were rejected not the Patent? Thanks TB
With all of this re-examination and rejection of patents, where does PTSC actually stand?
For us less legally inclined shareholders, are we about to lose everything? If so, why are other companies still signing agreements? Anyone that is able to explain this on a non-legal level, would have my greatest appreciation.
Thanks, TB
I will donate to the cause.
TB
I would like a lot of answers also. I have been here since TCLN and $0.25 per share many years ago. I don't know how much I can throw in the $$$ pot, but if this thing does a R/S with no news I am all for it.
TB
People that I work with have told me that BP doesn't want to cure everything that Bavi is supposed to be able to cure. BP makes too much money on NOT curing people. I have always thought that Dr. Thorpes findings were remarkable. I invested in TCLN back when it was $0.25 a share, and many years later I still think it will work. However, with the share price where it is and with the questionable management, I am beginning to think that Bavi will put too many BP people out of work. It would be great for the realatively few investors in PPHM, but terrible for the millions of other BP investors. I will vote NO, but hang onto my shares all the way down to nothing even if we do a RS and get hit with dilution.

David Pohl is on PPHM's BOD and is part of the Compensation Committee, to make sure PPHM retains the highest quality management team(haha). Mr Pohl was also CEO of Patriot Scientific(PTSC) during its big run up in share price and PTSC is still cash strong and looking for acqusitions. Why did/does he not pony up on a great investment like PPHM, the company he is now part of? For the past 2 years PPHM & PTSC charts are on the same track. Down.
TB
CARLSBAD, Calif., April 26 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Patriot Scientific Corporation (BULLETIN BOARD: PTSC) today announced that Chairman and CEO David H. Pohl has notified them of his intent to retire from the position of chief executive officer as soon as a new CEO is appointed. He will continue to serve as chairman of the board.
"I decided that my 70th birthday in June would be a good time to step aside from daily business operations and let someone else take the wheel," Pohl stated. "With that in mind, I informed the board of directors of my intent last February. Since that time the board has been identifying and considering various candidates for the position."
Does anyone think Mr. Pohl should step down from PPHM also? He is now close to 71 years old.
TB
I had an order for 8000 shares today.
It got filled and went through as 7000 shares + 1 share + 999 shares. All at $0.0625.
I don't see the 1 share trade on your list. How does that work? Do they just throw my 1 share in with another trade?
TB
That caught my eye too.

Questions for Dean. I saw a show on Discovery Science, "Cool Stuff" or something like that. They had a 3D imaging device using Ultra Sound. Does this use any of IMGG's proprietary software? Most people would probably think that Ultra Sound is safer than X-ray. Is the Ultra Sound technology still just taking the readings from 2 different angles and letting the computer put the picture together, while Dominion is actually taking 'pictures' all the way around an object? Is someone eventually going to use your idea with ultra sound?
Thanks TB
Volume up or volume down, it took several days but I got my small order filled at $0.42 today. I have been around since the TCLN days in 12/99 when I got some $0.25 shares. Also bought at $0.90 and at $1.60, so what do I know. I have always thought the science was good. I have never liked the BODs and the administration. Hope the science will prevail.

Couldn't/wouldn't the same hyper-speed equipment be put on a STRAT platform and operate at the same hyper-speed without the distance lag time? Thus making the STRAT configuration even faster. Also with the ability to be repaired or updated without a $340 mil price tag and a 5 year life span. How much area will the Japanese satellite cover? More than a STRAT I'm sure, so a few bonus points for the satellite.

Lowtrade, I just inherited some AMRMX fund. I still haven't got all of the paperwork done yet to transfer names. How much lower will a fund like this go? thanks TB
This shows a machine that looks similar to Dominion, but is the Brilliance iCT 3D scanner.

IMGG or Not?

Is the IMGG technology being used the same as the new 3-D CT scanners at the airports?
If so would IMGG look into this as another use for it's technology?

Wolfpack, I read many of the court papers that you post. Not being too "legal" minded, I was wondering if you or someone more "legally" inclined could give a brief explanation of what all of these filings mean. All in "Your Opinion" of course. I get most of the filings, but they get kind of lengthy and many times hard to follow.
Thanks
