JMHO: The Chinese economy is taking hits the same as everyone else's, but you can't tell because they use sketchy Communist accounting principles. One of the areas hit with contraction is Building and Real Estate, for example Evergreen's bankruptcy. Could a billion-dollar merger take place? Yes, except the company is probably not worth that much by a long shot. Also, the commie geniuses in the CCP planning board may be trying to shore things up by ordering the merger on Xi's recommendation.

Is there something going on in the background that they haven't announced to the public yet?

So, what's a realistic pps for the valuation given this announced partnership?
