Mass Hysteria Entertainment Acquires "Timothy Hill Ranch" Script, Partners with Aloe Entertainment to Co-Finance
HOLLYWOOD, CA / ACCESSWIRE / March 5, 2015 / Daniel Grodnik's Mass Hysteria Entertainment Company, Inc. (PINKSHEETS:MHYS) announced today it has acquired the film rights to writer, director Cole Claasen's Timothy Hill Ranch, and has partnered with Aloe Entertainment to co-finance and produce. Aloe Entertainment recently co-financed 10,000 Saints starring Ethan Hawke, Hailee Steinfeld, and Emile Hirsch that just had it's world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival and Wild Oats, directed by Andy Tennant and starring Jessica Lang, Demi Moore, and Shirley Maclaine that will be released later this year through the Weinstein Company. "Mary Aloe and I are working on a number of film projects together including the recently announced Punjab Tiger and now Timothy Hill Ranch," said Grodnik, CEO of Mass Hysteria Entertainment. "Mary is a seasoned professional who has a deep understanding of film economics that works in tandem with her wonderful story sense. The script for Timothy Hill Ranch has already benefited from her creative ideas."
Logline: When 17 year old Parker is busted for selling drugs in Brooklyn and headed to jail, he's offered a second chance…a year on a horse ranch in the middle of nowhere.
Timothy Hill Ranch is based on the life of Thud Hill, the executive director at the Ranch, a 75 acre horse ranch/juvenile correctional facility on the east end of Long Island, working with young men coming out of jail and transitioning back into society.
Our story is about a particular relationship Thud finds with a new resident named Parker. Parker is a typical tough guy when he arrives, but after Thud puts him in his place, a promising change begins to happen in Parker, who finds a father figure in Thud.
"We are currently looking for a star to play Thud and are hoping to begin selling the picture at Cannes in May," said Grodnik.
Timothy Hill Ranch is Cole Claassen's third feature film as writer/director. His first two screened around the world and won festival awards.
Cole has lived and worked at the Ranch for the past year researching the characters and writing the script. This is a passion project for him with the goal of exposing a societal epidemic in the inner-city and an alternative form of correction that is changing many young lives and offering second chances to young adults who are otherwise lost.
