OOPS! Fagator posted the site yesterday. I should have read recent post, then I wouldn't have posted it a second time. Sorry! I'm really excited--maybe, just maybe-- this is really good news. ORY

Rambling and maybe off-topic.
I just spent about 4 minutes reading the RB EDIG msg. board. Four minutes was all I could stand. Pump and dump, dump and pump! There is a big lack of anything substantial to read about EDIG on any of the boards; it's mostly hype or bash. I sold a little at .16 thinking our price was on its way to .12; WRONG! It's back up to 18 cents. I had bought a bunch at 19 cents--wonder if it'll make it back up there? ORY
WAIT! Help me out here. I haven't read all the posts because I've been traveling. Cass, are you saying the short selling PPS damage hasn't been done yet? Lois
Cass, what is the DSreader--what is that link about the Portland dentist. I used to be a stockbroker in Portland when Paulson was a pump and dump player with Cananian gold stocks on the Vancouver Exchange. Small world! Lois
Okay, Casandra, tell us about the future; what's in your crystal ball for our EDIG stock price per share? And, why do you care? I've been reading your posts off and on for a couple of years. Since you always find fault with everything EDIG does, why do you stick around? What's your real reason for being on this board? It takes a lot of time to post as much as you do. I've got an excuse, I'm 66 years old and retired, and I own a lot of shares of EDIG--enough to count. But, I can see no pausible reason for you hang on this board for years. Please give me one good reason why you hang out on this board? Lois
This is not new but, it raises questions about Samsung.
I'm not sure when this was put on the website, but I'm pretty sure it's over a year old. When we go to the EDIG web-site and click under 'company,' we get the following.
"e.Digital's partners and clients include APS, Bang and Olufsen, Hewlett-Packard, Samsung, Softeq, Texas Instruments and many more. Our solutions include; Portable Digital Audio Player with a 1.8" drive, Personal Video Platform, In-Car Infotainment and Wireless Applications and Integration.'
Notice that on this page only a few "
partners" are listed, which leads me to a clue I never thought about before. In this short list (which is alphabetized) Samsung is listed with other companies which we know buy our tech or we use theirs (TI). I wonder why Samsung is listed here. What specific, on-going relationship did we have with Samsung when this page was put up?
I've been wondering what happened to Ittiam? Are we still working with them; we haven't heard hardly anything on this front since the 2004 CES well over a year ago. Nor, have we heard anything more about some EDIG engineers hired and working in India. With Atul at the head of the company we really haven't heard much of anything. The things we do know center on IFE, but I'm getting anxious to hear about kiosks and infotainment. ORY
P.S. I haven't moved to the "dark side" as someone suggested, but I am tired of personal attacks that take the form of ridicule, name calling, and suggestions that I've "got my panties in a twist." Let's live and let live---I don't have an agenda except to make money! ORY
OT: Good morning HotRod. It's going to be nearly 80 degrees in South Carolina today. It's going to be a beautiful day. ORY
Arkie, Grumble, grumble. Two years ago it was IKant, this year it's the Basso groups. Hard cash comes for a BIG price and lots of dilution. Basso groups control over 5% of our stock, have the opportunity to own much more and will sell into any strength to recoup their investment. Yes, one good application, maybe this IFE, takes us out of this kind of financing, but that's what I thought last year. We all could have had this Basso info over a month ago, in early march, if we had looked at e.Digital's filings. I heard about the Basso groups on Friday night and the PIPEs/hedge fund info, too. I've been in a kind of daze ever since. I hate to be wrong--like 5 years into EDIG wrong. I hate to be sucked in by posts that claim special knowledge of orders, developments, and good news from suspect sources. And most of all, I hate to lose money. I'm tired of the personal attacks on these boards. These attacks take the form of ridicule, of being labeled bashers, of not understanding the investment. Bashers and hypsters are both bad news for people who just want to make a good investment, who want info and sharing from the EDIG boards. I guess I'm whining this morning; it comes from a deep seated feeling of being duped, pumped, and violated. I took it all in, ate it up, and asked for more, so I have no one to blame but myself. I've been averaging down, so hopefully later this summer, I'll be able to get out with my shirt. ORY
Volume has dried up and blown away!
Mornin' Diggers, Nice day for numbers to be released and guidance to be issued and our PPS to sky rocket! Or, go up a few cents. Sunpoop and Ediglong saw a working PVR with the Ittiam brand on it at the CES last January. And, we announced a PVR with Fusion this past summer for England to be rolled out in January of this next year. Knowing these two pieces of information, don't you guys think we could easily be the tech company chosen for the newest Asian PVRs that have been announced recently such as the JHL of Japan or the APEX of China? Think big kids; we've got the tech, and we just may have the contracts all signed. So, indeed, it could be a VERY good morning, indeed! ORYGUN
Something's New A Brew-------------What might be taking our PPS up. We know about the Wencor buyout of APS, and we know about 10 or 11 airlines are signed up for digEplayers. This may account for some heavy hitters and the ''momo'' boys and girls entering the fray. But, it could just as easily be what we DON'T KNOW. Here's an example, remember when last year there was the discussion of how the Hollywood screeners weren't secure for the Academy Awards. What if 20thCentury Fox went to bat for us and said listen boys, this year we are going to use the digePlayers for screeners---listen up, this is a test??? They'd be reaching agreements right now for something like that for the 1st of the year and lots of people would know about it.
Now, I'm not suggesting that this is why our PPS is going up. I'm suggesting that something like this is probably happening. I could give you at least 5 scenarios that fit, but Wencor buying in on the open market does not make sense to me. Here's an other kind of play that could be taking place and much more likely than the screener idea.
What if a set top box outfit has reached agreement with EDIG to use our tech here in the states. So, here's the made-up story line: ''Paul Allen, no stranger to high-tech, has decided to take his Charter Cable Company into the next era of portable TV. He will leapfrog into on-the-go TV and movies with 'when ever/where ever' you want it--in the car, at Grandmother's, save that football game to watch after Christmas dinner. A little company out of San Diego's Wireless Dessert has come up with the techology and that company is e.Digital!'' etc., etc. The possibilities are endless. Something's new abrew. ORY
New stuff on the PEA: good reading.
http://www.airfax.com/airfax/features/viewstory.asp?filepath=jun2004\peawebstory.htm
"If an IFE system weighs 4,000 pounds and allocates a $200 per pound cost per year in wheels, tires, brakes, and service, as one airline does, we are looking at $800,000 in IFE-carry costs per airplane, per year! And thus, the paradigm shift…
The Portable Paradigm:
It’s no wonder that the portable entertainment devices have appeared on the horizon, specifically designed for aircraft applications. Or perhaps we should say mobile applications. In the past 12 months we have seen and/or heard about 4 such devices and in this article we will explore the Portable Entertainment Appliance, or Pea, from IMS.
First we should discuss the two key issues that separate portable IFE from its hardwired brethren. The short answer is – power and connectivity. The long answer incorporates the first two and includes: lower cost, potential profits, greater passenger satisfaction, lower weight, virtually no required power, greater reliability, and probably 5 or 6 other things that we don’t know about yet! The Pea solves the connectivity problem by networking the portable units and partially solves the battery and storage problem by providing a nest, or POD, on the aircraft.
Before we get too far ahead of ourselves, let’s look at the Pea in its first form, the Standard Portable Entertainment Appliance. Our readers should note that there is soon to be a Mini Pea and later on a Premium Pea.
If the Pea looks a lot like a laptop that is because the IMS folks saw a market timing advantage by using COTS laptop technology and packaging for the Standard and future Mini Pea. Here are some specs to on the Standard unit whet your appetite.
Display: 10.5” XGA
Disc Storage: 60 GB
Power: Inseat power or a 10 hour battery
Weight: 4.5 pounds
Options: IEEE 802.11b/g technology and credit card reader
Now that we have defined the appliance, let’s talk about “the network”. If you check out the June 08, 2004 news release from IMS you will note the following statement, “The key to the Pea is the comprehensive content management system itself that aggregates and delivers the content quickly, securely and economically, enables transactions, and provides return data.” This means that IMS has found a way(s) to expedite and manage the content problem. We understand that they have a data loader, which supports onboard content updating either in an overhead baggage bin or multiple bay installation, or via a specially modified food service-type card, or a multiple compartment tote bag. If you haven’t guessed it by now, each Pea plugs in to its own POD and the PODs will reside in the aforementioned locations. In other words, the Peas can be plugged in their PODS in locations either on or off the aircraft and have the ability to charge the batteries and update the content using a proprietary interface. These feature alone should force airlines who are sitting on the “to Pea or not to Pea” fence to cross over.
While we use the word “connectivity” in the title of our article, we do not mean air-to-ground connectivity. We are talking about the airline network and media source connectivity but we should also note, a unit with onboard connectivity like IEEE 802.11 has gone a long way toward that goal. Further, by batch processing the Pea data once per day from the Pods, usage and future applications are enhanced. Consider this: If GPS or aircraft data location is downloaded to each unit on a particular aircraft at a particular time, an airline would know where its movable assets are at least once per day! Further, Pod relocation of the units after a flight would also be a way of onboard asset management, real-time or batched."

Time to break out the squirrel song that used to get played whenever good new hit! ORY
EDIG may have had a buyer for the Kino, and I sure hope I'm wrong here. But the way this seems to have played out is this. DigiFusion paid us to develop the set top box because SKY was looking for one. The end product with both our tech and DigiFusion's engineering in it would have been labled Sky and branded so. SKY has many levels of service and our device does much more than TiVo''s, it's possible we are still in the running for a high end product. But if TiVo got the nod and DigiFusion is out--we are out of that, even though DigiFusion paid for the developement of what we are now calling our Kino Player. emit is saying that we may have lost that settop deal, he isn't saying their aren't more deals out there. What I'm saying is CRAP! ORY
Thank you for finding the post and site. This isn't good, is it? Looks like DigiFusion got a design together for BSkyB about the same time as TiVo got their product together to present to BSkyB. Maybe when Fusion let EDIG know that their product wasn't chosed, EDIG created the Kino Player based on the exact same design. This doesn't mean we're out, but it means we're still trying to sell our design to someone big. Damn! And MSFT chose Thomson recently for it's Janus player.
Others are beating us to the punch. ORY
I stand corrected! Thanks
emit, I've been gong back through your posts, but I can't find one that says Thomson (RCA) is buying set tops from Fusion. ORY
Little bit of hyperbole here:
"the intergalactic market-smashing access Microsoft has to computer users." Don't you just love the way the Bristish talk! ORY
"Video, video, video............." If and when our tech is embedded in TI's, sooner or later, something's going to hit. In year 2000 the saying was, "Katie, bar the door!" If not this one, maybe one of Equator's System on a Chip.
And EDIG was trading @ $14.00 per share. I could stand a little of that action!
Back in the good old days:
http://www.angelfire.com/mt/ezcash/stocks/edig2.html
is is dated to year 2000 when this writer says EDIG might be the next Qualcom!
There may be a bit of "puffery" in this newsletter; it might be right on, but then again the discussion of 10 airlines needs to be taken with a grain of salt. A bit of wishful thinking, I would imagine. Lois
Looking at the Apex web site I see the following:
Apex has also extended the reach of DVD players into the home network with the introduction of another new technology featured in the Apex DVD player AD-8000N. This unique technology has a PC card slot built into the player and supports 10/100 Ethernet of 802.11G Wi-Fi cards. This new, wireless system communicates directly with the PC allowing access viewing to any stored information on the computers hard drive.
Apex Digital has recently introduced a new line of digital cameras which are not only capable of capturing digital images, but also have the capability to playback MP3’s as well as short voice memos. This is a new category for Apex Digital and as with their DVD players and televisions the pricing is very attractive.

I'm wondering which one of the video applications/platforms that FF mentioned in January this new player is?
Hey, any posters out there today?
Tenderloin, I agree completely. The news may be dated June 1, but the news is not above the radar screen yet. We'll see. Lois

TI Introduces New Reference Design for Portable Digital Audio Players
June 8, 2004 (HONG KONG) -- Texas Instruments (TI) announced the availability of the latest advancement in a series of portable entertainment reference designs. The new ready-to-use design provides a complete hardware and software solution with a low bill of materials (BOM), low power consumption and turnkey support for features that can help consumer electronics original equipment manufacturers (OEM) differentiate their portable digital audio products in an intensely competitive market.
Based on the digital audio family of digital signal processors (DSP), the production-ready system minimizes design complexity and manufacturing costs, enabling the quick development of digital audio players. Products based on the design can operate for up to 45 hours on a single AA or up to 20 hours on a single AAA battery. The DSP can handle all of the processing required for a portable audio player with overhead remaining to allow manufacturers to differentiate their products by adding additional features, such as TI's proprietary Time Scale Modification (TSM) software or 3rd-party post-processing algorithms.
The new reference design offers broad support for a variety of features and functionality, including: all major audio compression-decompression algorithms, including mp3, Windows Media Audio (WMA), Advanced Audio Coding (AAC), mp3Pro and voice recording, as well as a built-in FM receiver; high-quality timescale modification (TSM) algorithm, enabling the playback of recorded sound with normal pitch at up to twice the speed or slowing playback down to half the speed. The commonly used MultiMedia Card (MMC) removable Flash card, and can be modified to support other Flash formats, as well as hard disk drives.
The portable audio player reference design and complete manufacturing kit are available. Manufacturers can also plan to design their next-generation hard disk drive-based portable audio players on a new feature-enhanced reference design, which is expected to be available in the third quarter of this year.
Of the 12 new products we are to have out this year according to our EDIG's press releases and investors communication, which ones have been announced other that the Fusion one from 2 weeks ago?
The price looks bad on the close. I don't think the burn rate and numbers are going to look good or something! An order for 650 DigEplayers seems hardly information for a Press Realease, since it's part of an order that was already announced. ORY
M Rare, what's the date of the Jetgo PR?
OT: Everytime I leave town the market goes down, especially while I've got a bunch of long calls. EDIG, too; having EDIG is like owning extra long LEAPs. I'm in Southern Maryland at North Beach, a long commute out of D.C. The weather is great!
OT: I'm leaving SC for Wash. DC this morning. Hope I don't miss anything today while traveling. Will catch up on all posts tomorrow. With XM Satellite Radio in our van, I get to listen to CNBC; somehow I doubt if they'll have news on EDIG. LOL! Lois
