For the last two years Providence St Joseph Medical Center, Portland, OR., has had what they term "Choose Well incentive program".. Participants are required to read prescribed articles on health facts, make a promise to eat certain foods (like vegetables), and for five or six months record each evening the daily number of steps taken that day, using a fitbit or Iwatch to garner the information.
If these parameters are met, each person is allotted 700 dollars towards medical costs not covered by insurance, that would be Providence Medical Insurance.
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see where this is headed. My fitbit already transfers info directly into my Providence account.
Or something with a more generalized title. Something that will attract doctors and patients while initially leapfrogging their biases. (any competitive products they may be prescribing or using)

A man rushes into the waiting room, frantic and shaking, he shouts that he is shrinking and needs to see the doctor.
The nurse tells him to quiet down and wait his turn, but his agitation continues and he keeps shouting and demanding to see the doctor.
The nurse leaves the waiting room to inform the doctor of the ongoing drama.
The doctor finally comes out, looks at the frantic man, and says; You're just going to have to sit there and be a little patient.
Regarding SA Doc RX article...
There were some comments to his article that after being up for two days were removed today, At least I can no longer find them.
Maybe tidying things up cause of the lawsuit reference?
This is what he stated in his article;
"If I had to guess, the FDA was aware of the study's design. But whether it raised any caution about the use of a mineral oil placebo and its potential confounding effects in case it showed a drug-like effect is something completely unknowable to me. We may never know that sort of detail."
He got called out on that first sentence, by me and other people, with many in agreement. I can no longer find those comments. Maybe I'm just missing them.
Thanks, yesterday, when NTLA and CRSP were both down ~25% I resisted my instinct to buy for a quick profit.
Oh well.
What are the implications for CRSP and NTLA? anyone know? I own all three, this would be a good time to add to the losers unless the patent thing wipes them out.
Yup, So she was wrong about the ICT107 trial, so probably has no clue on the DCVaxL trial either.
"Some here may be interested in this recent video where a DCVax investigator comments on the trial. "
Go to 4:35 in that video and listen to what she has to say about the ICT107 trial "Looks like a great improvement on overall survival" referring to a sub group in that study. Then compare that to what she says about DCVaxL. We hope to learn a lot, or something to that effect.
Not very comforting but, I will be taking a closer look at IMUC.
"So there can now be no doubt in anyone's mind that this trial is being done with NWBO. Oh... and BMS." Sentiment
Wait a second, AF told us that's not possible so I sold my shares. Now what?
beartrap, I think we gained a lot of insights from your questions and the information you shared from the shareholders meeting. It is much appreciated.
I think LL's presentation in Seattle would have a lot of impact on changing the thinking of "shorts".
Remember that many shorts really believed that LP was outright lying to us and that the trial had failed long ago.
Anyone that is rational can longer believe that. They must know that there is a chance, however small they may think, of trial success. They are no longer shorting a sure thing.
So I think that although her presentation subdued the longs, the share price should now adjust for the proper win/lose odds.
Flipper made a good point about AF's articles influencing trial participants.
AF should feel obliged to apologize to the families of deceased brain tumor patients who left the trial because of him(AF).
" Les stopped Linda from answering my question about how many offers they've had to combo with the "
Sounds like they might be in talks with some BP's? Or else Les was just giving shareholders the old rope-a-dope.
beartrap, You probably should disregard my question. It came about because some of the skeptics are saying that no way is there less than 248 progressions in the 331 total.
I was suggesting a trick question to elicit some kind of "tell" from LP. Something I learned in my poker playing days, but probably not a good idea at this venue at this time.
I think you and longfellow meant this for beartrap. I won't be at the meeting.
beartrap---I'm planning to attend the annual meeting tomorrow. Questions welcome. I'll ask what I can and report back.
Now off to work ---
Ask her something like this; As part of the 331, how much impact will the ~27~ patients in the tertiary group have upon potential approval?
wording is important. Run on sentence is good, a lot of words but one sentence. Purposely use an incorrect number for the open label group. Try to ask after someone else has asked a tough question and you've observed her baseline reaction.
thanks.
Thank you for posting this sentiment stocks.
Evaluate writes..."nivoluminab ... is this the same as nivolumab ? "
A common mispronunciation I think. If one googles "nivoluminab", or "nivolunimab", it directs you back to "nivolumab"
I question whether LL was making reference to Opdivo (= nivolumab)
Instead, was she making reference to Keytruda (= Pembrolizumab)?
Sounds like she said nivoluminab. But no way is there a pembo sound in there.
Hi Dan 27% don't fancy going Santa Anita with you what math did you use..
Let's say the trial got an approval and we are now watching LL standing in the winners circle, basking in the glow and giving her presentation. Does she still present her children at the close?
I say no way. It would be considered immodest bragging, by her, I think.
Now let's say only LL knew the trial failed and knew we didn't know yet. Does she still present her children at the close?
I say no way. It would create an association between failure and her children, and she wouldn't go there, I think.
Now let's say she thinks there is a chance the trial will get an approval, but it's going to be close. Something of a binary situation. So at the close she presents her children in a situation of opposites, hot or cold, win or lose, etc.
That's what she is telling us in my opinion.
I think you pretty much hit the nail on the head with these thoughts.
What I took away from watching LL's Seattle presentation was that she is hopeful that they will get some kind of approval. Judging by the way she tiptoed around the FDA processes and then presented her own children at the end of the lecture, I give some kind of approval about a 27% chance. Well worth a bet.
And a guest appearance with Martin Shkreli.
All good, except the "telemedicine" part. That just defies common sense.
Falconer,
Thanks for your excellent post. You obviously know what you are talking about.
Please don't let all the junk posts on this board discourage you from posting.
excellent post.
Extraordinary claims, (which calling out the Doctors as liars is) requires extraordinary proof. That never happened.
One million doesn't seem like much really... Phil knight of Nike fame just gave 500,000,000 (yes, half a billion) to Univ of Oregon Scientific research/studies department.
Afford writes;" Do you think Dr Linda Liau would involve herself with Ms Powers if Dr Liau thought Ms Powers was the evil doer that you imply she is. You are ridiculous in your accusations."
You attempt to tie LL's career success to whether or not the DC trial meets certain endpoints, and that if she is celebrating her contributions for anything less than that, she is an evil-doer.
Then you turn around and say that Enron's demise should not be associated with LP's success.
I say that scientific contributions to all trials are very important. Some scientists just get lucky. A successful career should not be predicated on whether your trial met a certain endpoint.

I also know from a different source in Europe that NWBO is a prime acquisition target (friend is former European BP exec) but that they're holding firm, hard balling their numerous patents. He does say NWBO is taking a risk by holding, but the indications in this filing tell me they're confident in something. -- I was a diver

I thought it was interesting. But, I don't think NW Bio will sell itself. They may sell percentage rights to certain markets, meaning if they partner with BP and it includes financial terms to pay for Direct Phase Ib/II (with a CI, they will need a safety portion first, hence 1b), then they will need to give something in exchange for funds. And a percentage of sales in those markets will make sense. But, again no, I do not think they will consider selling themselves at this point.
As for what they are confident about, well, I believe they perceive that their products conceivable could be one day prescribed for operable and inoperable tumors, if the products in testing find clinical success. The share count is not out of control yet. The Phase III study has not been stopped. Anyone who suggested that it has failed are just speculating. The trial is double-blinded. It remains on-going. And the longer the Phase III study goes without reporting a PFS event, the higher the likelihood that it is the vaccine patients that are raising the PFS median (2/3 of the study is vaccine patients after all). In a few months, we will pass 14.7 month OS that SoC gives patients. In a few more months after that, we will pass 21 months that the best prognosis patients get. If we do not hear PFS endpoint new in 4-8 months, then I expect that many will start thinking twice about keeping their short position open. But, of course, I also expect Collaboration news of some sort before year end.----- RK Matters----
Maybe I'm reading it wrong but, in the last sentence of Diver's quote, after the comma, he switches from giving his sources opinion on NWBO taking a risk, to his OWN (Iwasadiver) opinion that NWBO is confident in their actions.
Interpretion of that sentence, seems to me to somewhat change the gist from somewhat positive to somewhat negative, depending on how one is reading it, and maybe I'm just reading it wrong. I'm not sure, I just am wary of Divers motives.
Maybe our understanding of the English language is different but...

The document does not answer my questions about the trials and does not change my feelings or belief that it will be a success. None of this changes the fact that this was marked CONFIDENTIAL. Without any doubt this was the best possible course of action.
You state that, pgsd stated that he was not concerned by the content. However, no where does he state that he is not concerned. The words of his that you highlighted are actually defensive, as someone might defend their belief in a supernatural entity when confronted with evidence to the contrary.
Here are your original words DoGood;
On the contrary, pgsd says he is long, remains long, and was not concerned by the content, only that it was supposed to be confidential and not supposed to be openly available on an FDA website. Good news gets twisted into bad news on a regular basis by some people, and he wanted to make sure that didn't happen in this case. Hopefully that clarifies that he intends to respect the confidentiality of whatever it was that he found.
Actually DoGood, his statement, quoted below, because of the wording, does indicate that he has some concern over it.

The way he writes in this quote below indicates even more concern on his part.

I have always been a buyer. Had I been anything else I might have tried to twist the information and exactly the reason why I chose to contact the company. It is a confidential correspondence and relates directly to the clinical trials. It is not a new correspondence and I could not be certain that the information contained could be manipulated or not so chose to be safe. At the end of the day I own a significant number of shares in the company so anything that hurts it subsequently would hurt me {and all other longs} The one thing I have learned since investing in NWBO is how 'naysayers' try to twist and turn every word and every meaning far better they never get the opportunity. GLTA
And his original post from #74145 indicating concern but that only he has the power to save us from ourselves.
I actually spoke with the company yesterday. During dd I came across confidential e-mail communication from NWBO to the FDA which were released on a FDA website breaching data protection and regulatory law. I was unsure if the information was Industrially/commercially sensitive and therefore did not want it to fall into the hands of those who would abuse it. I decided it was best served to make them aware and sent it to them.
Everyone that has talent to get a Ph.D or MD has a great mind. By your logic no clinical trial would fail and the design and implementation of every trial would succeed by your great mind criteria. ---Foxhound
That is absolutely insanely false.
AV1177 makes a very clear point, substantiated with simple facts. A third grader could see he is right.
I am not mocking. I think that, because they are lawyers, they think they can get away with grey area crap that normal companies play straight up. If it gets them in trouble then they need to be held accountable.
their public statement about bloggers turning good news into bad was not gray area. It was clear as a bell. Let's not make it fuzzy. Stop enabling them.
I am long a tiny bit. About what I would buy in for some 4/8 holdem.
"I commented yesterday as to why the screen hold and yes the company believes it's to get to FDA approval in an expedited manor...
So yes a good thing." md1225
So the company, "thinks/believes", the screen hold is for an expedited approval? Did you mean the company "believes" they will get an FDA approval for an expedited trial? Wouldn't this be insider information, or does the "believe" kill two birds with one stone so to speak?
Bloggers are turning good news into bad news. Let's hold the company to this statement. They need to be accountable, you guys need to stop being enablers!

As to what is happening halt-wise, and why NWBO didn't announce it... they said it wasn't for a bad reason, they said they'll tell us when the process is completed. I fully trust them on that count - others may not.

So the bloggers were turning news that Les and Linda "believed" was good news, into bad news?
Still trying to wriggle out of that inconvenient statement I see.
Are you related to Iwasadiver?
OK, fair enough.
I guess I didn't make myself clear enough. Let me start by posting your original remark.
" I thought Linda"s remarks to that investor fits with Les's now famous (or infamous for others) quote to me on the day of the leak of the screening halt. He said in a very exasperated tone; "There're factions out there that are ALWAYS turning good news into bad"...heavy sigh, and then a little laugh. He didn't seem fazed what so ever by the underlying situation (screening halt), only the knee jerk reaction to it."
Maybe I was wrong but it appears to me that, through you, Les is trying to back track on his original statement. A statement which has been used as a cornerstone of the bull argument and could be used against NWBO in a lawsuit. See post 66188 where Sentiment Stocks uses it in her bullish argument. As you can see the word "always" is not present.

" Anyway... if the halt has to do with the current manufacturing process, that would be a huge issue, and there are probably plenty of investors that think that, hence, the poor share price.
But that would not be good news... and remember the company said bloggers were trying to turn good news into bad news. " Sentiment Stocks....
Remember the Tanya Harding defenders? Even when they knew they were wrong they couldn't admit it and began backtracking and apologizing for her.
