Doc, this one looks like it falls in the, "danger Will Robinson" family.

Greetings cjstocksup. You have some very credible posts and I wanted to say "Thanks" for your thoughts and sage insight. Since we're looking at a solar industry stock that's in a sector under a complete drawback (FSLR, TSL, etc.) and there appears to be a glut of panels in the market with along with the subsidies and tax breaks expiring in Dec 11, do you see this as a long, mid, or short term play? Thanks in advance.
Peace.
SS1
Doc,
A bud of mine provided a link to AWSR but my research finds a mixed bag of highs and lows. My senses tell me there's a story behind the stock's wicked swings from .29 up to 1.65, then back to .29 and to a final rest of 1.29 within an hour of trading yesterday. Since I had to go back to work and resume my Doctorate's program I lost the bubble on the charting (which I find fascinating). Are you checking this one out? Guess it was a recommendation from one of the same penny advisors pushing NSRS. Well, off to work. and checking back in at lunch.
Best of luck to all.
Peace.

VLF,
Thanks for the excellent run down. Glad to see the stock hold today. Hoping the company gets some foundation for a return to prosperity and longevity. Focused on the solar sector now. It's taking a beating since FSLR failed to file the documents for the loan paperwork on the Antelope Valley plant project. TSL also missed the mark by 50 cents so it dropped $1+. Expect all the Chinese manufacturers to disappoint over the next few weeks which could provide a potential opportunity to get some long term investments in solar. Again, appreciate the info and hope to get a handle on the iHub lingo before too long.
Cheers,
SS1
Ebo,
Learning to read these charts. The analytical approach, release of actionable information (news), and sentiment seem to be critical factors in the decision support process for the buy or sell. Am I missing anything in the equation? Thanks for your sage insight as well!
SS1
Life,
Revisiting our brief discussion yesterday on solar, may I offer some additional insight to the Doc's in-depth and deliberate style of sharing with the community here. Beyond the shortage of high grade silicon production, TSL's miss by some .50 cents and the expectation that the other solar stocks reporting over the next few weeks will also trend to the downside, investing in any solar stock might be a little premature. I have a position in FSLR and have been living in a red ocean for some time. That said, it's a long for me and it's drop to $37.20 is an opportunity I'm hoping will get better once the news drives it down around $30-$32. When TSL hits $5 and some change, (currently in the $8's), I'll also gain additional position.
In sum, these are longs for me and the stock you site is a relative new comer to the installation piece. I did a recent paper on TSL and solar for my DBA and will share if you're interested. Unfortunately, I don't know how to atch to post yet. Send me your email and I'll forward.
Again, the disclaimer: do your own DD and this is not meant to advise anyone on stock market desions.

What is a Crawler?
A crawler is a program that visits Web sites and reads their pages and other information in order to create entries for a search engine index. The major search engines on the Web all have such a program, which is also known as a "spider" or a "bot." Crawlers are typically programmed to visit sites that have been submitted by their owners as new or updated. Entire sites or specific pages can be selectively visited and indexed. Crawlers apparently gained the name because they crawl through a site a page at a time, following the links to other pages on the site until all pages have been read.
The crawler for the AltaVista search engine and its Web site is called Scooter. Scooter adheres to the rules of politeness for Web crawlers that are specified in the Standard for Robot Exclusion (SRE). It asks each server which files should be excluded from being indexed. It does not (or can not) go through firewalls. And it uses a special algorithm for waiting between successive server requests so that it doesn't affect response time for other users.

What is the difference in the ATRN Spider offering? Can someone please elaborate? Thanks in advance.
SS1
Thanks Doc. I see why folks see you as the voice of reason (and sanity) here.
Very respectfully,
SS1
life, in my humble opinion, PV makers use the same high grade silicon that electronic industry folks use to make semiconductors (i.e. micro chips). From a recent research report I did on TSL, there seems to be a shortage of high grade silicon (see news on MEMC who plans to ramp up production along with other silicon manufacturers). Point for concern: Most silicon makers did not and have not benefited from the supply and demand imbalance which indicates to me there is more in play here. All just my humble opinion and not anything worth making stock decision on. DD required.
Peace.
SS1
Doc, what do you make of all this talk on the ATRN board about dilution for ATRN to remain solvent. Seems to me they've already done that a while back. I'm already invested so I see riding this out no matter what rhetoric is spawned from the MMs or players. Your thoughts please?
Thanks in advance,
SS1
life,
Found the following which might contribute to your dilemma.
On February 14, 2012 Energy Conversion Devices, Inc. (ECD) and its subsidiaries, United Solar Ovonic LLC (USO) and Solar Integrated Technologies, Inc. (SIT) filed for bankruptcy in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. ECD took these actions to facilitate a sale of the USO business in a manner that enables USO to be competitive and viable for the long-run. During the bankruptcy and sale process, USO will continue to operate and serve its customers while moving forward on its development of advanced nano-crystalline silicon photovoltaics.

Unfortunately, solar is getting pounded right now with the tax breaks expiring and the threat of tariffs on Chinese imports. Solar is an interesting long term investment and I we hold positions in FSLR, TSL, and ASTI.
As with everyone else posting here, this is not advice but merely my humble opinion. DD is in order.
Cheers,
SS1
Thanks Jimmy!

To all,
It's fascinating to read the volley of thoughts on this board--have learned a tremendous amount in my 2 days off the regular job and "Thanks" to all for your thoughts here. I'm in the business where education isn't but this site bright that to a new level (smiling).
As there's plenty of optimism, pessimism, and folks looking for advice already prevalent on the boards (initial impression only and by no means stating these observations as fact); I'm thinking there's great opportunity for someone veteran pennystock professional to sell an acronym list and terms for quick reference.
This is a wired world and E2B, B2B, and E2C are the way of the future. With the advertised clientele, one has to wonder is there issues are deeper in the form of leadership and clout (and programmers) which are instrumental in moving forward. No Mr. Baker of Mr. Fong, but I'm not convinced by a resume' or 4-year degree from a military academy that these gentlemen are equipped to navigate today's global business environment. Please note: I'm very familiar with serving this nation with a weapon in hand after 20 years stationed abroad--again, no disrespect intended towards anyone here, just an observation.
Think I'll just let things ride and see where this road takes the investment.
Peace.

WWW,
Here's something worth a read:
AvWorks Aviation Does Eco-Friendly Learjet 24 Reclamation

AvWorks Aviation has completed a Learjet 24 dismantling and reclamation project at Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport. Under an agreement with Precision Aircraft Dismantling, the company financed and managed the project using Precision’s proprietary eco-friendly portioning process. According to AvWorks, it is the second successful green salvage project the two companies have completed together since December. “Valuable parts and components were identified, removed and tagged, the client was happy, the job site was clean, and our relationship with Precision solidified,” said Joel Young, AvWorks CEO.

A quote for the day worthy of the commentary:
"A politician needs the ability to foretell what is going to happen tomorrow, next week, next month, and next year. And to have the ability afterwards to explain why it didn't happen."

Just FYSA (for your special advisement). SS1
Atrinsic Inc. (OTC:ATRN) continues to trade in a range as the stock looks for any direction. Down 10% today, ATRN continues to be pushed by message boards and other online forums. The company has been quiet on the news front. Volume continues to eclipse its 3-month average. For all but the most risk-tolerant traders, this is one you definitely watch from the sidelines, regardless of what the message boards say.

chade014 - more good advice. I've actually managed to sit through monitoring several boards here and have to say, this is a lot more exciting than feeding a Financial Manager my money to invest each month. Not that'll I'll stray far from the value-investing roots but I can see where this could occupy 10 percent of the portfolio. Again, Thanks for the insight and sage advice.
SS1
Thanks Doc. Your a boon to this site and the insight is obviously revered! I know it is from my perspective.
SS1
Doc,
Advice for the new kid? Thanks in advance.
SS1
Ebo,
Now that's something that's needed--irrational exuberance without cause is an emotional high that lasts as long as you have money in the coffers.
Cheers.
SS1
Not sure what you're asking. Just wanting to gain insight on how people view this stock. since I have a position in it and always looking for information sources (since there are few out there), someone might be able to que me in on another source for due diligence. Thanks.
SS1
Thanks Fara. Always curious to learn.
SS1
Ebo,
Thanks for clarifying and appreciate your sage advice--priceless. Will need to get a subscription PDQ.
SS1
Pfiefer,
I like your comment "finally, a real company". Not sure I'll follow Samblis' movie critic site but Butler's "cooking clip" reminded me how important carbs (hops, barley, yeast, and water) when you're cooking! Lol. Further, the adds for ads were quality and the other topics media topics on the site are definitely improving. All just my humble opinion of course and folks should make their own decisions on where they're headed with their stock picks.
SS1
Greetings,
This is a wonderful thing to see ... 52 percent increase in a socially responsible investment is huge. I believe Ms. Sneed's presence is already bringing intrinsic value and an upside. After reviewing several website's of the "hot penny stocks", Light Media's site is top shelf. No, we're not IR and marketers sent to skew the boards, just long-time believers and focusing our resources on what is central to our lives.
SS1
Fara,
What's your basis for .20 EOW (end of week)? I'm holding and will perhaps secure more position but I'm not seeing that in the charts. That said, I'm new and could be missing the blinding glimpse of the obvious (wouldn't be the first time! Lol).
SS1
tbrays,
Sound advice. It's easy for the new folk to get incensed with the well-meaning opinions out here. Cheers,
SS1
Ebo, no problem. Still no call back. Looks like the IR firm stopped posting updates in Nov 11. Perhaps it was a cost cutting measure to let them go? COuld be the reason for little to zip on the news front.
SS1
Thanks Doc. I've had it for awhile so probably best to punt and revisit later.
SS1
I called the below contact number and it appeared the older person I spoke with had no idea what caused the rise in stock price. They weren't sure if they were reporting earnings or not and patched me through to a voicemail (extension 13 if memory serves me correctly). I called the investor relations folks and they stated they no longer work for High Plains Gas. Interesting. Again, this is just my personal opinion and no one should consider it as anything more than opinion; suggest you do your own homework on this one.

Just an FYI - LGMH dumped some bad real estate and paid debt. it's up .05 today and holding at .14. Looks like the new COO is already busy at work in 2 short months. Since I'm new to the boards these are just my personal opinions and there's no advice intended here.

HPGS
Trying to decide whether to increase our position. Since they renamed a division last month and increased their workforce for approx 50 to 200 last month, I'm wondering when the investment cost for adding those resources will tip to the green. All speculation.
SS1
Ace, nice play-b-play. For those of us heavily invested, where's a good spot to add to current positions?
Thanks for your thoughts!
SS1
That's some great advice. TY
Thanks retireearly. Interesting perspectives and posts. How do you sift out the fact from euphoria and expectation?
Sorry to all other posters, have not been granted my "private message" capability.
New to the site and this board. Own this stock based on the advice of an industry partner aircraft maintainer I work w/ and would be interested in (1) potential promotions, and (2) the thoughts of anyone who's spoken with Mr. Young or his staff. Would appreciate a vector on where folks are culling their information to post on this site.
I'm in this for the long haul and it's a heart racing event to watch the day traders take a potential long-term money maker for a roller-coaster adventure ride. Nothing personal in that last statement, just the views of a value investor.
This is an interesting marketing perspective but I'm not finding anything on AvWorks contracts or future contracts. If they're competing for FedBizOps.gov contracts, a disadvantaged small business might have an in, in the commercial segment, targeting work with Boeing is a smart move based on their record sales last year. That said, Boeing's new lines require less time in heavy maintenance so let's hope Young and his staff have calculated that into their business and sourcing strategy.
Further, targeting Latin America is significant. There's significant upside if they can find a niche there.
