That's Friday after the market has closed for the weekend.
I hope it's not like politics where they dump all the bad news on Fridays.
I certainly hope that tomorrow's news is good but from what I read about the announcement I am not expecting too much. It looks like an update for shareholders who have been without news for too long. By the looks of the trading this week, if it is great news it surely has not leaked out.
I am also not expecting bad news but more like things are moving in the right direction with sales up and word slowly getting spread about the real benefits of the Dynovalve.
And maybe that all the papers have been filed to get off the pinks but we are still awaiting approval.
That's what I expect but it would great if it were better than that. If it were going to be great news why not just make a PR. I think it may be a call for shareholders to have a little more patience while pointing out that progress, although slower than expected, is happening.
Just my two cents.
Just watched a piece on the Discovery channel about a Korean airship. It looks very much like the one in the last Sanswire video. But they have reached an altitude of 3 kilometers and are working toward the target of a giant Strat ( 200 meters long ) able to reach into the stratosphere although they said they have many challenges to reach that goal. They have very high tech testing equipment and the backing of the Korean government. Quite impressive.
I haven't been following so closely lately although I still have a small position in GTEM. Have we heard if No Mas Cables is still alive or not? Always appreciate the info and opinions you post. TIA

Hacketts, WiseBuys merger is finalized
By DAVID WINTERS
TIMES STAFF WRITER
Thursday, November 08, 2007
OGDENSBURG — The merger of WiseBuys with Hacketts department stores was finalized Wednesday with a few pen strokes. All the stores soon will bear the Hacketts name.
"We will have the same high quality and high level service that Hacketts is known for," WiseBuys Chief Financial Officer Thomas W. Scozzafava said.
The acquisition called for a $1.5 million payment at closing and additional payments of $4.5 million to be made over eight years to Hacketts. The agreement also allows for Hackett family members to retain their management positions, as well as Norman V. Garrelts, president and chief executive officer of Hacketts. The conversion will take place over the next year, along with looking at expansion opportunities around the state.
The merger has been in the works for more than a year. Originally, Hacketts was to acquire WiseBuys. But Hacketts had trouble securing financing for the deal, which led to this arrangement.
Hacketts is a 177-year-old retailer with stores in Ogdensburg, Potsdam, Canton, Watertown and Massena. The store, also known as Patrick Hackett Hardware Co., has been a True Value hardware store but has added inventory over the past decade to convert its image into more of a department store.
WiseBuys was started in 2003 by Joseph G. LaChausse, Assemblywoman Dierdre K. Scozzafava and her brother, Mr. Scozzafava, to provide merchandise to communities left without access to basic goods when the Ames chain closed all of its stores. WiseBuys has stores in Gouverneur, Canton, Pulaski, Hamilton and Tupper Lake.
The WiseBuys chain has agreements with several vendors, including KB Toys, Radio Shack and Payless Shoe Source. Those agreements, with the merger completed, will be investigated to see how they can fit into the Hacketts business model, Mr. Scozzafava said.
The five WiseBuys stores will be retrofitted to resemble Hacketts stores. The company headquarters will be in Ogdensburg.
Both companies have stores in Canton, with WiseBuys in the University Shopping Center and Hacketts in the Midtown Shopping Center. The University Shopping Center will become the lone Canton location because of the larger space, Mr. Garrelts said.
The Hackett family owns the Midtown Shopping Center space and hasn't decided whether to sell or lease the space to another entity.
I left out the word Strategic and submitted Aerocom before I read your post, but I like your suggestion.
Thank you Mide.
Thank you for posting the email as I didn't get one and guess I won't be getting anymore. I sold my position a few months ago but still have interest in GTEM and would love to see them turn things around. I'll be watching, good luck to those who are sticking it out.
Thanks for the heads up. Good to see you posting over here. Always appreciate your sharing of any info on GTEM. Someone posted your last conversation with one of the K men here. eom
Missed the last few days of posts and there are too many to go through. Could someone please give me a short summary of the latest ( facts only, no opinions please ) in this ongoing soap opera. TIA
What was the price?
I know of some longs that have given up and are selling their positions.
The thought has certainly crossed my mind as well. This certainly feels like a death watch but of course I hope not. Still waiting for the promised financials and an update with some numbers on NMC. The sentiment hasn't been this negative since before the JV was formed. Our 52 week low was .18, was that a closing price?
I am wondering if GTEL had to PR their participation in these demonstrations. It seems to me that the MO of the new boys in charge is not to say anything until concrete results are confirmed. If these PRs were not required by the SEC, this leads me to believe that they have at least some measure of confidence in securing some kind of contract. Otherwise the disappointment of not receiving any contracts ( would that have to be announced in a PR?) would certainly not be beneficial.
GZGT closed at 2.65 today. I received an unsolicited alert about this stock a few days when it was at 1.93 as I guess many others did. The last alert I got like this went up about 50% and then came crashing down to about 33% of the original buy recommendation.
Thanks for the reply but you still seem extremely confident in GTEM's future and I cannot understand from the available info why you feel that way. Yes, the JV is definitely good news. As for the Strat we have not had an update in a while so we really don't know what is going. I am rooting for GTEM and certainly feel better than I did before the JV was announced but feel your level of optimisim is unwarranted unless you know something I don't.
Me too. It was a real pleasure to read this board today. Also a real pleasure to get some positive news. Would love to hear something about the strat directly from GTEM, it's been a while.
There haven't been any trades yet today. Oh, It just opened at .24.

Thanks for sharing the info, this kind of information is greatly appreciated by all.
globetel.net is fine but the globetelwireless.com is down at the moment.
The way you read it, " I think the Strat is the next volunteer for the chopping block."
The way it was written is : "commencing with the thrust of critical objectives for the Sanswire Stratellite program."
Maybe he will soon be hired by the new JV.

GlobeTel Communications Corp. and VPN de Mexico Establish No Mas Cables de Mexico Joint Venture Will Build Wireless Broadband Networks in Mexico Based On GlobeTel's HotZone Technology
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. and MEXICO CITY, April 3, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- GlobeTel Communications Corp. (Pink Sheets:GTEM) and VPN de Mexico S.A. de C.V. (VPN) today announced that they have consummated an agreement to establish a joint venture, 51% owned by VPN and 49% owned by GlobeTel, to build and operate wireless broadband networks in Mexico based on GlobeTel's proprietary HotZone(tm) technology. Despite having the highest percentage of personal computer penetration in Latin America, Mexico has one of the lowest rates of penetration for high speed Internet access. The joint venture, No Mas Cables de Mexico, S.A. de C.V., will help fulfill a critical need within Mexico for more widespread broadband and telephony availability.
No Mas Cables de Mexico expects to build networks that will serve urban areas with a target customer goal of 250,000 customers within the first three years of operation. VPN and GlobeTel anticipate No Mas Cables de Mexico will start producing net income during its sixth month and would become cash flow positive by the end of the first 12 months.
Under terms of the agreement, initial working capital has been infused into No Mas Cables de Mexico, with each partner's contribution proportional to their ownership stake in the joint venture. The initial working capital will be used to continue construction of wireless networks using GlobeTel's products and intellectual property. This amount is consistent with the preliminary business plan and financial model structured and agreed upon by both partners.
Networks built by No Mas Cables de Mexico will be based on the Company's proprietary HotZone 4010 WiFi technology.
This agreement was pursuant to the successful testing and startup of operations of an initial broadband wireless network in Pachuca, State of Hidalgo, Mexico. Construction of the Pachuca network commenced in mid-September 2006 and began serving wireless broadband customers in October.
"VPN is thoroughly committed to providing all necessary resources for No Mas Cables' growth and market penetration, and we look forward to bringing this exciting service to Mexico," stated Pablo Peralta, Chief Executive Officer of VPN de Mexico. "The backbone of our networks, the HotZone technology, has demonstrated cost-efficiency and high scalability, enabling us to penetrate these markets quickly and with less intrusion into the communities than other technologies."
Peter Khoury, Chief Executive Officer of GlobeTel Communications, stated "The Peralta family's innovation within the Mexican telecommunications market is characterized by a number of 'firsts' with respect to the cellular and VoIP markets. Working with the accomplished Peralta family and their telecom subsidiary VPN, we are actualizing our mission of bringing accessible, inexpensive communications resources to Mexico."

I hope they know that.
Not much sounds good these days concerning the internal goings on in GTEM.
It's all so strange really hard to get a grasp on it. The possible JV in Mexico and seemingly improving Statelite tests are the only rays of hope, though still severely lacking in clarity.

Did the same trek more than 20 years ago and spent a total of 3 months in Nepal at that time. It was a wonderful experience, looking up at Anapurna 2 was awe inspiring. I did have a few symtoms of mountain sickness but made it over the pass. I seem recall that getting down from the pass was harder than going up, lots of icy spots. Lack of O2 can be tricky business.

Don't how accurate that could be as Gtem is listed as follows:

Considering Mide's recent post after his talk with Rob that there will be no fluff Pr's,
I guess we should assume that this is good news and a prelude to more good news. Of course I share the skepticism that GTEM has brought upon itself but I don't think this news should be just discounted as nothing.
Thank you very much for that update. EOM

Although there are enormous challenges ahead for Globetel, it certainly does feel like things are changing in a positive way. I always appreciate your updates and as I am overseas the time difference makes arranging a phone call quite difficult. I will look forward to hearing about your conversations with Rob as well as others that choose to share. TIA
