Do you have a WAG how much could be distributed to escrow shares (if anything at all)?
The proceedings with $GS were mentioned and the selling of the run-off notes. I didnt get the impression that this would be enough for a distribution to the escrow shares (of former equity).
Does this mean that there have to be paid $296,506,244 to classes above equity to get a first distribution to escrow shares?
Thanks in advance!

W00t! W00t! They're buying shares in blocks of 100k now. A lovely sight to see.
45 seconds? That would be fast as lightning:

Well...the rumor mill is running, too:
http://www.streetinsider.com/Insiders+Blog/Tesla+%28TSLA%29+Ramps+Higher+%28GM%29/8427783.html
I guess that someone realised that battery swapping makes the Gen III for $30,000 for the masses even more likely to happen.
Tesla is here to stay and it will change the way people will think of a car and what they want in a car. ICE makers are in for a bumpy ride in the not so distant future.
Someone bought (or covered) 120k shares. Thats a lot of shares.

Tesla Motors is Overvalued AND Undervalued

FWIW: Tesla Motors Given New $118.00 Price Target at Robert W. Baird (TSLA)

I am long here and the ride will be entertaining: demonstration on 06/20 and Q2 earnings on 07/22.
Profitable throughout every quarter, gross margins at 25% by Q3.
At the end of 2013 this stock has doubled.
And in 2014 Model X awaits us, 2015 the GenIII...
Hard to tell but i think the shorts seized the opportunity of the Barrons article and sold some more.
They are pumping cars out of the fremont factory by the hundreds a week now!
VIN#'s in the range of 14,XXX have been already issued:
I think (and this is just a wag) if they beat their Q2 estimate of 4.500 deliveries it will fuel the momentum of the stock.
At the moment the stock trades around 100x of 2014's estimated earnings of $1 per share. If Tesla can reach the projected gross margin of 25% i expect to the stock to trade at roughly 200x its earnings (like Amazon does).
The Big money signed up for convertible bonds at $124 a share.
The only way is up.
VIN today: 13.8xxx

Subtract 3.100 deliveries last year, 4.900 last quarter and 500 shipped to europe: 5.300 cars in Q2. We can subtract 500 cars more just to be on the safe side and they will still beat their guidiance of 4.500 cars for Q2.

Forgot to say one thing at Tesla annual shareholders meeting: just as my money was the first in, it will be the last out.

Watch the short interest report on 6/11/2013.
They are shorting the hell out of this stock. So far it worked. Any good news (e.g. raised guidance) and this thing goes to the moon again.
As previously announced Elon Musk bought 1,084,129 shares at a price of $92.24

Tesla could be buying the Opel factory in Bochum (Germany). Its scheduled to be closed by the end of 2014. Tesla would get everything they need: A fully equipped plant, skilled workers (and the union will play ball).
Tesla will need some serious production capacity to serve the european and asian markets.
I know i am wildly speculating here but i am looking forward to that statement on june 20th.
Panasonic sells the battery packs to Tesla. At the moment there are 5 automotive battery makers that share 80% of the world market:
Sanyo, Sony, Panasonic, LG and Samsung.
With the shareholder meeting next week, i dont think it will see low 80's.

Every investor in Tesla (whether long or short) should understand the importance of the supercharger network that Tesla is currently expanding.
Reading suggestion: http://seekingalpha.com/article/1300141-supercharging-tesla
And Elon states quite openly:
Its an impressive car and with the expanding supercharger network Tesla is building a moat around its ever growing market share in EVs.
Gotta love the story and outlook of this amazing company!
Tesla Model S vs BMW M5 Drag Race
I am long on this one, see my other recent posts.
Just follow the money. GMSachs, Morgan Stanley and JPMorgan are going for the big bucks here. They put a lot of money on the table and apparently they expect to double their stake via the convertible senior notes.
And one more thing:
This is what the people dont get:
Tesla issued convertible senior notes . The initial conversion rate of the Notes is 8.0306 shares of Common Stock per $1,000 principal amount of Notes (which is equivalent to an initial conversion price of approximately $124.52 per share).
Here comes the catch:
The notes mature in 2018 but maybe convertible during any calendar quarter after september 30, 2013 if the stock price equals 130% or more than the initial conversion price for at least 20 trading days.
130% means a stock price of $161.89.
Long story short: JP Morgan, GMSachs and Morgan Stanley exercised their options in full: They are long on Tesla with a price tag of at least $161.89.

The issued debt is convertible into shares if the share price reaches $124.52.
So no splits in the near future i guess.
Thats a sale by Technology Partners Fund and Mr. Ehrenpreis is a managing partner of that fund.
I wonder if they shorted the stock again and if they are now facing another short squeeze again - thanks to the news after hours?
