Wow thanks for the YBTVA Assistant Moderator promotion RonnieD! It is an honor! Please note for some reason I am limited to only 3 posts per day, so it may take me awhile to reply at times. ;oD
Hearst owns the major station in my neck of the woods WMUR ABC and they sure do have have deep pocket$$$.
Hearst interested in KRON4
Broadcasting & Cable magazine, in a story about how KRON 4 is doing following deep budget cuts, says the list of possible buyers for the station has changed. When KRON first went on the market in January, NBC and Fox Broadcasting were thought to be most interested. Now it appears the suitors are Fox, former Channel 2 general manager Kevin O'Brien (pictured below) and Hearst-Argyle Television.
• Hearst-Argyle is a publicly held group of 26 stations including KCRA 3 in Sacramento and KSWB 8 in Salinas, both NBC affiliates. More than 80 percent of Hearst-Argyle's stock is owned by the privately held Hearst Corp., which also owns the Chronicle and 30 percent of MediaNews Group's assets outside the Bay Area. (Federal antitrust regulators have prohibited Hearst from owning MNG assets that compete with the Chronicle.) If Hearst were to acquire Channel 4, it would mean that KRON and the Chronicle would again have the same owner. The Chronicle owned KRON for 52 years. Then the newspaper was sold to Hearst and the TV station to Young Broadcasting. (The FCC in December 2007 changed its cross-ownership rules to allow a newspaper and TV station to be owned by the same company in the top 20 markets. Among those lobbying for the change was Dean Singleton, head of MediaNews.)
• O'Brien and news director Fred Zehnder built KTVU's "10 O'Clock News" into ratings powerhouse in the 1980s that was held out nationally as an example of how quality local TV news should be done. In 2001, O'Brien became president of Meredith Broadcasting, where he turned around a money-losing company in a couple of years. He was forced out, however, when workers complained that he used inappropriate language. O'Brien sued and Meredith settled for an undisclosed amount. He landed at Granite Broadcasting and led an unsuccessful effort to spin off Channel 20 to an investor group that he headed.
• Fox is the only one of the four broadcast networks that doesn't own a station in San Francisco. It has reportedly tried to buy its affiliate, Channel 2, but Atlanta-based Cox Broadcasting hasn't been willing to sell. Still, it's hard to say whether Fox has a strong interest in owning a station here. When it acquired Chris Craft's stations in 2001, it could have held on to KBHK (now KBCW) Channel 44, but instead traded it to Viacom. Last year, Fox reduced its holdings of TV stations when it sold off O&Os in Cleveland, St. Louis, Denver, Milwaukee, Salt Lake City, Birmingham, Memphis and Greensboro, N.C. in order to free up cash so that its parent company, News Corp., could buy The Wall Street Journal.

I started using Quotetracker today with my Ameritrade account. I like it so far, QT makes it really quick and easy to place orders. To make it even easier for me, do you know how I can make the charts larger (taller) on the main screen for my stock list?
Good volume today hopefully we will break .15 soon IMO.
Could be a bag full of fools gold and cubic zirconia for all we know.
YBTVA!
Houston, we are go for launch!!! .09's up!!!
For all we know FOGGDOGG never spoke with CM, IMHO.
Someone needs to get Chris on the horn to help us fill in the blanks. We have had several days in a row now with afterhours trading. 112.5k @ .002 in AH today.
B-B-B-B-BOOYAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
.06's back up!
After getting burned I only place LIMIT ORDERS.
This market is way to volatile for Market Orders.
I have been following YBTVA today also. Looks very promising.
I have had a similar experiance with Sharebuilder due to the inability to place online orders with less than a penny resolution (.01 vs .0006 for example).
Add Sharebuilder to the stay the heck away or lose your shirt list.
From the lack of guidance from CTNO I can safely say that Mesallas don not give a dump about shareholders. Chris, throw us a bone will ya?
Other local TV stations likely to seek compensation from cable, satellite companies
WLUK, Time Warner still don't have agreement
While some Green Bay Packers fans wonder whether Sunday’s game will be carried on Time Warner Cable, executives at local stations have a wary eye on negotiations between the cable provider and LIN TV, the parent company of WLUK.
The two corporations continued to trade proposals today.
One sticking point apparently is compensation LIN is seeking for Time Warner to carry its stations’ programming.
Compensation will factor into coming negotiations with other local commercial stations.
“I think that most local broadcasters will be seeking fair compensation for cable companies and other delivery systems to carry their signal in the future,” said Don Carmichael, general manager of WBAY, Channel 2, which is owned by Young Broadcasting Inc.
Local stations’ retransmission consent contracts come due at various times.
Carmichael said he couldn’t say when WBAY/Young’s contract is up, “but it won’t be long.”
The contract of WFRV, Channel 5, does not come up until 2010, but general manager R. Perry Kidder is keenly interested in the outcome of the Time Warner-LIN dispute.
“I don’t think there’s a television station in the country that isn’t going to try to get a fair market value for their product, so you can include us as one of those,” Kidder said.
Liberty Media is the holding company for WFRV, but the station likely will negotiate on its own “because we’re our own company,” Kidder said.
Wisconsin Public Television will not seek compensation.
“We’re not in a business, we’re in a service,” said James Steinbach, the director of television for the six-station network.
“Our goal is to get as broad of access as we possibly can,” he said. “We don’t want to do anything that gets in the way of access.”
If no agreement is reached between Time Warner and LIN by the weekend, the Fox broadcast of Sunday’s game at the Seattle Seahawks won’t air on the cable provider for the second week.

No more 100/200 lot computer sells today!
Hopefully Gabelli is done with the selloff, and YBTVA will start climbing!
In a holding pattern here as well, awaiting takeoff!
Old KRON newscast, very funny!
WOO WOO!!
Bubb Rubb and Lil Sis
KRON-TV was the station that inadvertently created an Internet phenomenon in Bubb Rubb on its story about whistle tips, devices welded into a car's muffler to cause a loud whistle as the exhaust gas goes by.

“Saw” Director Recruits ‘Army’ to Post Fake Torrents
October 02, 2008
Are you the director of some high profile movies, feel you have a piracy problem but no longer do business with MediaDefender? Do you want to fail, badly? Then maybe you should follow the lead of Darren Bousman, director of the Saw movie sequels - and ask members of the public to upload fakes files on BitTorrent sites.
Darren Bousman, director of Saw II, III, IV, and no stranger to scenes of slaughter, has been caught up in his very own BitTorrent bloodbath. On the official forum for his up-coming movie Repo! the Genetic Opera, Bousman has been rallying support among his forum fans (known as the ‘Repo Army’) to become some kind of highly motivated, organic peer-to-peer version of MediaDefender.
Bousman details his brilliant plan in the forum post:
People will copy and burn the REPO CD and put it out on the web on something called TORRENT SITES. What this means to the movie is devastating. Basically - those who MIGHT have bought the soundtrack will instead download it for free… Thus hurting the soundtrack, and the movie. So what can you do?
Upload FAKE REPO albums to TORRENT sites under the REPO name. Meaning basically people will go online to a TORRENT site and try to search for REPO. They will find it - but alas it wont be REPO. It will be something else… If enough people do this - it becomes harder to STEAL the album.
Pain, something found in abundance in the Saw movies, was evident in the disorganized battle-plan that followed. Technical discussion began, noting the need for a good fake album to have the same number of tracks as the real version. Other suggestions to thwart the evil pirates include renaming and seeding random songs, and uploading audio recordings which preach the importance of buying the album.
After someone pointed out that people would complain about fake torrents in the comments section of torrent sites, solutions offered included the Army posting its own comments saying that the fake isn’t really a fake, and posting on real torrents to say that they were the fakes. Both techniques were doomed to fail before they began.
One of our favorite posts was the user who offered to spam the Ares Galaxy network on her own, and unwittingly came up with the basis of a usable slogan for the fakes campaign: “Wait a minute, did Darren just ask us to essentially Rick-Roll people in the name of Repo? Hell yes.”
Sadly, even with an army of completely well-intentioned and dedicated fans plus a great slogan, victory isn’t guaranteed. After posting some fake torrents on The Pirate Bay, it didn’t take long for the negative comments from regular Pirate Bay users to build up, and the torrents were removed. Despite many attempts by the Army at countering with some fake comments of their own. The ranks of the general public Repo Army went into battle against just a few pirates but were completely unprepared, and suffered a bloody end that would’ve made Jigsaw proud.
One user seemed to be a bit more aware, posting, “You can keep it secret or whatever method you want, it’s not going to work. You can’t fool a pirate that easy, if we just could get scene access and pre it, so it looks real.”
Right now, the fans have regrouped and are currently marking real Demonoid torrents as containing a virus, in order to get them removed. It doesn’t seem to be working.
The Repo Army doesn’t act purely against BitTorrent, since it had been previously ordered to “Attack YouTube” by messaging anyone on the site who uploads any part of the album, and ordering them to take the clip down. Some fans are even creating Repo anti-piracy videos:
In the meantime the fans have ensured that the soundtrack in question, Repo! The Genetic Opera, is currently at 22 in Amazon’s bestsellers chart, largely thanks to 25 five-star reviews, which currently represent 100% of the total reviews on this album. Apparently it’s easier to fool Amazon than the average BitTorrent site.

Dozens of tax breaks added in effort to ease bill's passage
Bloomberg News
WASHINGTON - Rose City Archery Inc., an Oregon company that makes arrows used by children, has hit a bull's-eye with the Senate's financial rescue legislation.
Senators attached a provision to the $700 billion bill that would repeal a 39-cent excise tax on wooden and fiberglass arrows designed for children.
The provision, proposed by Sens. Ron Wyden and Gordon H. Smith of Oregon, would save Rose City Archery in Myrtle Point, Ore., $200,000 a year.
It's one of dozens of tax breaks - benefiting Hollywood producers and stock-car racetrack owners, among others - included in the broader legislation to entice those who had rejected it in the House just two days ago.
"This is how Washington works," said Keith Ashdown of Taxpayers for Common Sense. "A big pot of pork is their recipe for final passage."
Representatives for Wyden, a Democrat, and Smith, a Republican, did not return calls. Jerry Dishion, president of Rose City Archery, was unavailable to comment.
Most of the provisions are part of a package of provisions known as "extenders" because they are renewed for only a few years at a time.
Popular with lawmakers, the items include a research tax credit amounting to $8.3 billion a year for companies such as Microsoft Corp. and Harley-Davidson Inc.
The package also would spare 24 million households from a $62 billion increase in the alternative minimum tax this year and renew $17 billion of incentives for energy production from renewable sources such as solar and wind.
Some provisions, such as one that would save NASCAR track builders $109 million this year, have been staples of the tax code for years.
Among new provisions are two tax breaks worth $478 million over the next decade for film and TV producers who shoot in the United States.
Michael Steel, a spokesman for Rep. John A. Boehner, the House minority leader, said the inclusion of the tax breaks "will increase the appeal of the package for our members."

B-B-B-B-BOOYAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When my positions are transfered, I was told to call the Ameritrade Promotions Department and I should qualify for some free trades. Thanks
Thanks for the kind replies. I decided to go with TD Ameritrade. No more large order surcharges and the ability to place sub penny orders is a winner for me.
It is my understanding Etrade has a large order surcharge too:
"For orders involving securities listed on a national securities exchange (i.e., "listed securities") a fee of $0.015 per share will apply to that portion of the order that exceeds 2,000 shares."
The transfer of my Sharebuilder positions is actualy free of charge from both brokerages. I mailed the stock transfer forms this morning and it should only take a few weeks at most.
Hopefully by then, KRON will have been sold, and YBTVA will be well over a dollar! GLTYA
I agree, YBTVA is a steal at these levels! Sharebuilder has never filled orders below my limit order price, never. I am done with sharebuilder, bunch of crooks IMO. I will look into Zecco, but I heard Zecco does not allow trading of otcbb or pink sheet stocks. I heard TD Ameritrade was good. I also want level 2 quotes and a broker with no large order surcharge. Thanks!
Hello Everyone! I want to start buying YBTVA hand and fist, but my current online broker (Sharebuilder) only allows me to place orders in cent increments. For example, if the ask is .043, I can only place an order for .05 I cannot place an order in less than cent resolution. I was wondering which broker you recommend? Thanks!
Sharebuilder is 9.95 a trade, but they have a rather unfair large order (over 1000 shares) surcharge and in placing online orders they only allow cent increments, they do not allow anything less than a penny, so one cannot trade sub penny stocks. Please help me choose another broker that has no large order surcharge and allows one to place .00xxx orders. Thanks
