7 Drone Stocks to Watch for 2022 US NEWS & World Report
The drone market could be worth more than $41 billion by 2026. Here are seven drone stocks to watch now.
UAV Corp. (UMAV)
Drones are often fixed-wing or multirotor aircraft, but UAV Corp. is part of a group developing dirigible technology. In October, the company announced it had successfully flown a prototype airship and was ready to manufacture it with its business partners and support from the U.S. Air Force. It says the technology can be developed to reach 100,000 feet, and the company aims to add high-altitude human flights to its business model. It should be noted that penny stocks like UAV Corp. can be risky bets. But at just a few cents per share, the stock could produce above-average returns if its business plan gets off the ground.

NEWS OUT: UAV CORP (UMAV) ANNOUNCES SUCCESSFUL PRE-FLIGHT TESTING OF AWERX, THE U.S. AIR FORCE PROTOTYPE DATT MA 600 HYBRID ELECTRIC AIRSHIP
Port St. Joe-Wewahitchka, Florida and Auburn, Alabama, Sept. 08, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- UAV Corp’s (OTC Pink: UMAV) Skyborne Technology (STI), Research in Flight (RIF) as Prime contractor, Auburn University and Gulf Coast State College have successfully tested the pre-flight systems of the U.S. Airforce AFWERX program prototype the DATT MA 600 (Detachable Airship from a Tether Technology) Hybrid Electric Extended Range Airship with Modular Payload (e2RAMP) under the 1St phase of the Air Force AFWERX contract. With initial buoyancy modifications, multiple test flights are planned for later this month.
With support of AFWERX, a United States Air Force program, the four partners are ready to gear up for a Phase II contract. Under a Phase II agreement the team will manufacture and test a detachable airship from a tether (DATT) as a cylinder shape aerial platform with new aerodynamic properties for extended flight. In addition to the DATT airship, the electric propulsion (5 motors) will be powered by advanced fuel cells. The lifting gas for the platform will involve the integration of a mixture of both helium and hydrogen gases to reduce the cost of operations.
“At Research in Flight, our partnership with Skyborne Technology, Auburn University and Gulf Coast State College is leading to novel cutting-edge airship technologies which will change the way airships are used in pursuit of security,” stated Dr. Roy Hartfield
“We are quite pleased with the successful testing of all pre-flights systems of the prototype airship as we prepare to scale up to the 250-foot DATT MA 600 airship. We are increasing buoyancy and adding additional optics to the prototype to capture the advanced gimbled two axis propulsion system with state-of-the-art proprietary software, stated Michael Lawson CEO of STI.”
“The novel airship capabilities being developed and operationalized by Skyborne Technology and their partners provide a unique and robust set of observation, communication, and data collection tools for Gulf Coast, as we equip and implement Team Tempest,” said Dr. John Holdnak, President of Gulf Coast State College in Panama City, Florida.
This successful prototype pre-test in preparation for upcoming flight tests for the U.S. Air Force proves out our next generation airship design. The semi-rigid airship design with advance propulsion and aerodynamic lifting capabilities is unique to airships currently operating. Our design allows a coupling of the airship with onboard eVTOL drones, this gives the users eyes in the sky for long term surveillance and transmitting capabilities with immediate close inspection in real-time. Previously, operating airships did not have these combined integrated features; our new DATT MA600 will be able to perform a vast array of missions. Our partnership with Auburn University, Research in flight along with Gulf Coast State College and Gulf County is why the prototype and our future fully operation DATT MA 600 is quickly moving to a future launch date,” stated Billy Robinson Chairman of UAV Corp.

Sorry Robostock. I meant to reply during Happy Hour but I got sidetracked. I don’t have private messaging capabilities.
Source of mine told me UAV has been working on a deal with Guatemala. The deal was supposed to be pretty close and with the company filing with SEC looks like they expect to do deals this year with Central America. So my source seems to be correct. Not sure how much $ that equates to but it would be a perfect customer for the Airship technology
Also heard the my are talking with customers in Costs Rica and Mexico.

NEWS OUT: Skyborne Technology and GCSC emergency communications airship undergoes testing
https://www.uavcorp.net/post/skyborne-technology-and-gcsc-emergency-communications-airship-undergoes-testing
GULF COUNTY, Fla. (WMBB) — In Wewahitchka on Monday, technology took flight.
Skyborne Technology, in partnership with Gulf Coast State College and Gulf County are testing an inflatable airship; it’s one of the first of its kind in the entire world.
“This is sort of a one of a kind type design,” said Skyborne’s CEO, Michael Lawson. “It’s kind of unusual, it’s almost a UFO looking airship.”
It’s seven stories tall and it’ll fly tethered or untethered thousands of feet above the ground, as a piece of technology being utilized like never before.
“In case there is a disaster, we would come in after the disaster and be a communication hub,” Lawson explained.
It will act as a satellite in the sky, hovering thousands of feet above the ground with emergency equipment, drone launching and receiving capabilities, cameras and data collection tools. Gulf Coast State College partnered with Skyborne to make it happen with support from Triumph Gulf Coast and Gulf County.
“There’s a lot of people that are really interested in it now,” said GCSC President, Dr. John Holdnak.
He said the idea came from one of the many lessons learned in the aftermath of Hurricane Michael.
“When decision makers don’t have enough data to make decisions, you’ll make a decision that can turn out to waste time, waste energy, waste resources,” Holdnak said.
GCSC is working on a comprehensive emergency response program to assist in future disasters, training students to be ready to operate the state of the art equipment, such as the inflatable airship.
“Our goal is to start creating capabilities along coastal communities in Florida to begin with and then around the rest of the country,” Holdnak said. “Where the equipment is there and the trained people will come into the area and we’re going to provide a lot of that training to all the people who are interested in receiving it.”
Lawson said they’re planning on building several more of these blimp-type satellites, able to be manned or unmanned and used around the world to help with communication networks.
This airship is still undergoing FAA testing, but Lawson hopes to have it ready, up and running in the next few months.

NEW ARTICLE: State Grant Provides Help For Airport Infrastructure
https://www.starfl.com/story/news/2021/02/11/state-grant-provides-help-airport-infrastructure/4467455001/
By David Adlerstein, The Star - Feb 11, 2021
Gulf County has been awarded close to a half-million dollars in rural infrastructure dollars that will go towards completing infrastructure improvements at Costin Airport.
Last week, Governor Ron DeSantis announced that the county will receive $489,420 that will go towards building infrastructure to a new hangar facility and a development property adjacent to the Port St. Joe airport to attract businesses in the aerospace industry.
The award comprises more than half of $927,000 given to three rural Florida communities to strengthen public infrastructure through the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity’s (DEO) Rural Infrastructure Fund.
The town of Esto will receive $27,950 to make improvements to its water tank, well, and treatment plant, while Wauchula will be given ($409,697 to assist with the improvement and expansion of parking facilities adjacent to neighboring commercial spaces and the historic City Hall and Auditorium.
Jim McKnight, chairman of the county’s Economic Development Coalition, said the funds will provide the county’s match to a previously announced federal grant and will pay for the water and electric service to the project site.
The grant previously announced was $615,048 from the U.S. Economic Development Administration, in support of the infrastructure at the Costin Airport, specifically paving Cessna Drive and providing sewer services.
The combined $1.1 million in grants provide the funding for the road and other needed infrastructure to the $3.8 million hangar Skyborne Technology plans to build at the airport, with projections that other aerospace businesses will locate along Cessna Drive.
“We are thrilled by Governor Desantis’s announcement and thank the Department of Economic Opportunity for these grant funds that will invigorate the developing aerospace business in Gulf County,” said McKnight. “A special thank you goes out to State Rep. Jason Shoaf for his assistance with the grant process.”
DeSantis said in the release that “my administration is committed to strengthening the infrastructure in all of Florida’s communities but particularly in rural areas where there is often a significant need. These investments will help create jobs, provide these communities with the capacity for future growth, and further develop their economies.”
The Rural Infrastructure Fund provides funding to local governments for infrastructure projects in rural communities to encourage job creation, business investment, and strengthen and diversify rural economies.
“I am proud to stand with Governor DeSantis as our state continues to make strategic investments in our communities,” said Department of Economic Opportunity Executive Director Dane Eagle. “These investments not only grow and diversify our rural communities they impact the Floridians who live there by providing opportunities to expand their careers and improve the quality of life of their families.”
