Obviously I'm having a bad hair day!
Newly
Yup, looks like I'm in for a day of dumb and dumber. . .
Newly
Yup, found it, tnx. Was surprised to find it wasn't full of "kept" PMs. Odd, isn't it, after 14 years on this site I still haven't figured it all out, LOL -- not smarter than the average bear. . .
Newly
Oh, thank you, lucky -- you are a gentleman and a scholar! I actually saw that when I was searching around but assumed since it was in the Mailbox area that it was for kept PMs not posts. Tnx again.
Newly
Duh. . .let me rephrase that: How do I access posts I have "Kept"?
TIA
Newly
Where does iHub store Kept messages?
TIA
Newly
Not at all, but we let him think that just to keep him happy. Discretion is the better part of valor, LOL.
Newly
What a coincidence -- so did I!
Newly
My dear Kitt, really, if you had not skipped all those Sunday School classes as a child you would know that Satan cannot be confined to any Jailhouse and has always walked among the free (although, I suspect, not spending ALL his time pursuing iHub Virgins).
Newly
BOTH of them? You mean there are two? Who knew!
Newly
PS Of course, the question is, having located them, what disposition is to be made?
He does that already. . .
Newly
No, silly, the rest of your LIFE! We only get one go-round so we gotta make the best of it. Generally speaking, having a demanding job can really cut into the fun part of one's allotted time. . .
Enjoy your retirement.

IH Admin [Satan] era commences at 6:00 PM EDT.
Say WHAT??? Ah, but you are a sly little devil, LOL. . .
Newly
Hey, Brian. Sorry to hear you're leaving your job here at iHub, but as far as organizing priorities goes, we all understand that life must come before work every time. Enjoy the rest of yours. . .

I also have the Logitech wireless mouse and find it behaves erratically when the battery is low. Otherwise, look in Control Panel>Mouse for the adjustments one can make on the mouse.
Newly
PS I've had my Logitech mouse about 5 yrs now and no problems except changing the battery from time to time.
I don't know if this helps but unlike your laptop or tablet, usually your PC will not have a wireless connection to the router, but is hardwired to it. Is that how you have it set up?
Just a thought. . .
Newly
Start>Control Panel>System>Hardware>Device Manager, or Start>right click My Computer>Properties>Hardware>Device Manager

PS I thought I was the last person in the world still using XP, LOL.
Thanks for your reply.
Actually, the SPY 206 Put that expired Friday was well OTM at 4pm, around $25 above the strike. I presume the buyer of the Put could have exercised it at any time prior to expiry (up to 4:15pm), but if the price of SPY had fallen to below the 206 strike by 4:15 when the option expired, would the brokerage automatically execute it, or is the price of the underlying at close (4pm NY time) the determining factor?
What made me wonder is that I noticed Friday that after the 4pm close of SPY regular hours trading, the 206 Put was still being bought and sold and I couldn't help wondering why someone would buy the 206 Put, expiring in 15 minutes, when SPY closed above 206. Perhaps they thought for a few pennies it was worth it since it could have fallen below the 206 strike in after hours trading during those 15 minutes? I can't imagine why else anyone would buy an OTM Put 15 mins before it expired?
Newly
I didn't word that well. What I actually was wondering was, given that scenario, would one's brokerage consider the option ITM at 4:15pm when it closed trading on the day it expired and automatically exercise it.
Newly
While SPY closes trade at 4 pm NYC time, SPY's options don't close until 4:15pm NYC time. I always assumed that the 4pm close on the underlying was used to determine whether or not an option was ITM, OTM or ATM.
My question is, if SPY's price closed at 4pm above 206, but then fell below 206 in AH trading but before the option closed trading at 4:15pm, would a 206 Put be considered to have closed ITM and the buyer able to put the stock to the option seller?
Would appreciate anyone's thoughts here. TIA

Honestly, I just don't know how you guys handle all the garbage you do. A thankless job. Can't believe how crass some posters can be when they are hiding behind an alias. . .
My kudos to all of you who continually strive to keep this site a pleasant place for the rest of us to spend time and on your amazing ability to let the insults just roll off your backs.

Companies, if granted the leeway, will surely present their financial results in the best possible light. And of course they will try to persuade investors that the calculations they prefer, in which certain costs are excluded, best represent the reality in their operations.
Isn't that precisely what our government is doing when reporting such things as unemployment and CPI, etc? For example, according to the government you are not unemployed if you have stopped looking for a job. Utilizing "hedonic quality adjustment" in calculating CPI masks the true costs. So why complain when businesses do the same? What's good for the goose is good for the gander, just follow the leader.
Reality vs. illusion, and illusion is winning. . .

Marilyn, before buying more RAM, be sure your motherboard can support it and isn't maxed out, and also that it is the correct type. I'm sure your son can help you here. . .
Newly
Thanks, Dave, but while I had the problem for a long time, it seems to be working perfectly now (that is, when I use Preview I can see an embedded image now whereas I couldn't in the past).
Newly
I hadn't posted an image in months and when I did today it worked fine, so I guess all is well.
Newly
Good argument re nature vs. nurture -- how much of our physical condition as we age is hereditary and how much lifestyle choices? We may never know, although genetic testing today gives some hints. . .
That said, none of us can see the future, so I agree, live to the fullest now because even if you are healthy you could be run over by a truck today!
Newly
You're running Vista and I'm running XP Pro, both older OS's, so something changed, but I don't know what. I no longer have the problem, however, and still using this old XP machine. . .
Newly
It isn't a problem with the tool IMO, but for ages now when I put an image in a post and use Preview to check how it looks, the inserted image doesn't show up, but once I post the msg the image is visible. I figure it is a quirk with my machine, not sure why, but since I rarely post images, no big deal to me.
Newly
I've had that problem for ages, doug. Annoying because one isn't at all sure the image was uploaded correctly and will show up in the post.
Newly
Totally agree, Koog. As I've said before, I believe MS is shooting themselves in the foot with Win10. I know they need everyone to be on this OS in order to compete with what Apple has offered for years; i.e., have all one's devices 'talk' to each other. Instead, many long-time windows users such as myself are defecting to Apple. I recently bought a cheap win10 computer just to see what all the fuss was about. Not impressed! Won't spring for a new rig until my old Terminator (running WinXP) dies. I've upgraded the MB to its full capability, but after what, 11 years???, it is a bit long in the tooth. No way I can run some of the newer, larger programs, and no way I could put Win10 on this rig. I think if Marilyn's computer is old, you are likely right, she shouldn't try to run Win10 on it!
Newly
Marilynt, you should also check to be sure you are not running two antivirus programs at the same time because they will conflict and cause delays in loading pages. You can only run one antivirus program in real-time or you will have problems.
Newly
Unfortunately the Java update is often bundled with other, unwanted, software (these days you must always check for unwanted bundled programs when downloading anything), and that might be what happened to you. If you don't want those programs, just delete them.
As to the Java update itself, when I go into Control Panel and click on the Java icon, a box comes up with 5 tabs; I click the middle one, the Java tab, and click the little "View" box, and it shows what versions of Java are on my computer and which are enabled (uncheck all but the most recent). You can also see how many versions of Java are running on your computer in the Add/Remove Programs section of Control Panel and if more than one is listed there just remove it.
Of course, I'm still running XP, and I have no idea how you do this in Win10, but surely there is a way. . .
Good luck.
Newly
Hi, sharpshorts. Java, well, today it really isn't all that necessary since most browsers use CSS, HTML and JavaScript to achieve the same ends. It used to be the plugin was required in the browser to run applets written in the Java programming language. Times have changed and the tech has changed. If you have no issues with sites you visit, then I guess you don't need the Java plugin for your browser.
Newly
Sounds like something is conflicting with something else. Maybe antivirus programs fighting for supremacy or could her problem possibly be related to Java? I had something similar happen on my XP machine when a new Java version downloaded while the old one was still enabled and the conflict caused the computer to take forever to load a page. Perhaps when Win10 downloaded it updated her Java version without deleting the older version? Worth a look. Control Panel, Java, to check version. Not sure how to get there in Win10. . .
Newly
Thanks for the update, golf nut. You may have only met Bruce once in person, but you have been as supportive a friend as he could wish for. Thanks from the rest of us who would have wished to be there for Bruce but could not. . .

Just saw my cardiologist last week and mentioned I had gotten a Charge HR for Christmas. He raised his sleeve and showed me the Charge HR he was wearing that his wife had given him for Christmas, LOL.

I did try that, Elis, and everything else he suggested in that article for which I could find a setting nothing worked. I remember having this problem once before on one of my other computer and it was relatively simple to fix, but for the life of me I can't remember what I did to fix it, LOL. Anyway, I'll look through my files of computer fixes when I get home. Tnx.
Newly
I'm currently on-the-road (in Oregon) so haven't tried contacting them but my platform doesn't have this problem on my older OS machines, only on this new Win10 machine. Very annoying. I'll hunt around more when I get home -- I'm sure there is a simple solution, but I'm still learning the ins and outs of controlling Win10, so. . .
