You could just wait a few weeks and buy a brand new laptop with windows 10.
And don't give me that line about being too old. :)
I'll post here after I have it installed. I don't think it will be a problem.
The way I understand it, it's not going to install until you give it the okay to go. I read that it may take an hour to install so I'll probably do it late in the day.
We have 3 win 8.1's and 2 win 7's in this house. All laptops.
The emails they sent say:
"Because you’ve reserved, Windows will automatically take care of the download in advance. Then you’ll get a notification when your upgrade is ready to install. That way you can start using Windows 10 immediately – or schedule a time to install that’s convenient for you."
So, I think I will probably do a win 7 first to see how it goes.
It should be interesting to read the comments on this board when users start installing windows 10.
Windows 7 with Internet Explorer 11
Computer Operating system is 64 bit.
Yes I do and it loaded fine for me.

The Moderators on the boards are able to update the Intro Message (a/k/a "iBox"). Any User in good standing can become a Moderator provided they have made 4 posts on the board that comply with the rules of this site.

Thanks. Very clever and different videos.
Tossed for vulgarity.
Question for eikel:
Have you ever read these rules?
When/Why Messages Are Deleted
Did you think you were immune and the rules only applied to others?
Did you notice sticky number 5 on this board?
Please stay on topic. The only topic to be discussed here is CTIX.
Too many deletions here recently. Please take time to read these rules so that you will understand why posts have been deleted:
http://ihwiki.advfn.com/index.php?title=Handbook#Deletion_of_Posts
Any time you post about Users or reference groups of Posters (bashers, pumpers, cheerleaders, naysayers, Moderators, deletions, etc.) in your post, this makes your post subject to removal as off-topic and/or personal attack.
Your messages need to focus on the company and the stock and should not contain comments about people who post on the board. Other posters are never the topic of the board.
All opinions are welcome Pro or Con as long as they are on-topic and comply with the site's rules of conduct. That includes the views and opinions of board moderators.
If you have any questions send me a PM.
NO public replies please.
That should work. If you get email that you don't want there should be a link at the bottom to unsubscribe.
You could make a screenshot of the MS Word Paragraph including the images.
See instructions:
How do I make a screenshot?

How do I put a picture in my post.?

As Lucky said. Anyone can PM admin.
In this case it won't help because we don't remove posts over 48 hours old. You can make a new post with the correct information.
In the future if you want a very recent post removed open the post. Copy the URL address at the top of your Browser. Send a PM to admin with that link and ask us to remove it as "Author Request"
Questions like yours should be sent by Private Message to admin.

Bah humbug!
I use 2 computers all day and switch back and forth between them.
I use a win 7 and a win 8. Both are set up the same. The desktop view on each computer is almost identical. If you look at my desktop screens you wouldn't be able to tell me which one was the 7 and which one was the 8. I use IE and FF on both computers.
I've been using my win 8 for 3 years with never a problem. I let it auto-update.
I'm anxious to get the win 10. Some cool new features such as Cortana. I'll let it update both computers.
"user's may not be able to turn off the win 8 features."
What features are you referring to?
Do you work on a Win 8 computer?
"I'll create a new account"
I guess that didn't work out so well:

Better luck next time.
Oh, by the way, I added 10 more days to your suspension for that.
10 may just be everything that Windows 8 should have been
http://www.cnet.com/products/microsoft-windows-10/
"The Microsoft Edge browser is still called Project Spartan in this Technical Preview, and features like the Reading view and video playback should function as expected on more devices. Microsoft's virtual assistant Cortana can now be reached by a handy shortcut key -- Windows Key + "C" -- so you can quickly perform a search, or set a reminder. And if you've been following Windows 10's development from the start you'll also find spiffy new icons and a refined design for many of the existing menus."
"Boot up a PC running the Windows 10, and you'll be dropped off at the oh-so-familiar desktop. The Taskbar and its icons sit on the bottom, and the recycle bin sits in the upper-left corner. It looks, at first blush, like Windows 8 all over again.
But press the Start button, and you'll be greeted by the return of the Start menu. It's a proper Start menu, too, with your most frequently used apps are stacked in a column. Press the All Apps button and you'll find the endless column of nested folders we've all been scrolling through since Windows 95, though they're now grouped alphabetically. Sitting alongside that column are Windows 8's animated Live Tiles, endlessly serving up news bites and social-network updates.
The menu has evolved since the early builds. The Live Tiles can be arranged into separate groups, and those can be labeled (just like in Windows 8). You can also press the maximize button to get a full-screen version of the Start menu."
Did you just update it to the version I posted?
What version of the app are you using?
Go to Application Manager
Mine shows version 1.21.1992
I just tried it from my Samsung android phone and it only posted once

I heard that same complaint earlier today so maybe it was due to an update.

This has to be a first.
Poster says I didn't make this post but it says I'm the poster. Has my account been hacked?
I'm sorry but if you'd like to post in another language you must also provide the English translation in your post.
Thank you.
Too late. He's probably busy registering a new account. :)
Edward says I booted him too soon and I think he is right. We could have had more fun playing with him.
Buh-Bye

You don't.
Best for you if we don't discuss that here in public. You aren't likely to win.
Let me just say this.
Post on topic and do not violate the rules that you are in place to enforce.
Do not restore posts that were properly removed by another mod or mod squad.
Exactly. :)
Nothing reckless here. You posted a violation and mod squad removed it.
