I'm gone. Like a steam locomotive rolling down the track, I'm gone, gone, and nothing's going to bring me back. I'm gone. 06/29/2023

In 1969, I was a high school senior. Even though I was a wet-behind-the-ears stupid kid, I knew the Vietnam war was bullshit. My Dad was a proud WW II veteran and I was his only child. Before my senior year I told him what I thought of the war and said I thought I should try to go to college in Canada and avoid the draft. Without batting an eye, he said he would disown me if I did that.
So, I opted to go to Virginia Tech who had a Corps of Cadets. I signed my contract with the Air Force at the start of my Junior year. My goal was to avoid fighting in a rice paddy and to go in as an officer if I had to go.
That worked out. At the end of my Freshman year in college, they pulled my draft number. It was 36. I was as good as on the bus to basic training if it hadn't been for my decision a year before. Then, in my senior year, I filled out my "Dream Sheet" telling the Air Force where and what I wanted to do after commissioning. Of course, the Air Force ignored everything I said and placed me in missile service in the Strategic Air Command. Still, I went in as an officer and stayed out of the rice paddies. My motivation was self preservation. And I am still here at 70 so that worked for me. I have friends who weren't as fortunate.
We buy our tamales from Posa's in Santa Fe since Amelia stopped making them (sorry I said Albuquerque earlier). They are really good tamales. But this year, due to businesses having a hell of a time hiring employees, they weren't available for mail order. We were fortunate that we had a couple of dozen frozen from last year. I hope the employment situation improves:

Oh, it is. For years, we have gotten our tamales from a local lady who makes them with her family (tamales take a village to prepare). They are folks of limited means and Christmas tamales really helped them. We tipped her handsomely. But she has been ill the last few years and stopped the tamale assembly line. The last years we bought them from an Albuquerque restaurant. They are excellent tamales but we miss Amelia's. I make the red chile sauce from ingredients at a great outlet in New Mexico.

We are having tamales de puerco tonight con frijoles refritos y arroz Sonora. Do it every Christmas Eve. Hope you're having a great holiday with the extended fambly.
I "believe" in myself. Look, I'm an old man. I do not begrudge any adherent of any religion. My parents were Christians. I was brought up as a Christian. I decided, after a lot of study & research, that is wasn't for me.
I have no problem with religion. It seems to help a lot of people be better and that's a very good thing. For me, my guide is to "Do undo others as you would have them do unto you". Not because it is in some scripture but because it makes rational sense. I DO have a problem which any "believer" who tries to put down someone who doesn't agree. That's very unchristian, IMO.
I only hope that religious adherents do not try to force their beliefs on to others. It is a very personal decision.
Saying that, I wish you a very Merry Christmas. It is an important time of the year for you!
I find the deification of Lebby most interesting.
Yes, OTC is in the cards.
Because I follow objective reality not mythology. Do not try to evangelize me, it is a waste of time.

Yeah, sure.
That is to assume that the bible is divinely inspired and not a finely crafted piece of mythology created by the Caesars to subdue the messianic Jews.
You are free to assume whatever you desire.
I do not care to discuss it further. You are free to believe whatever you want. I don't care.
Well, you are incorrect. But that's OK, your only resource is Google not lifetime experience.

Hello Sevens, on the way to the Fives and the OTC.

The FBI issued a statement today that basically said, "We were just doing our jobs, nothing to see here!"
Sure. Hang in there. There's a pony in there somewhere!
How long are you willing to wait? (rhetorical question)
Hey Janice, I'm a "subscriber" until the end of the year. Send me some PM's and I'll try to guide you through how to use face recognition and/or fingerprint (depending on your Apple device). It seems there are utilities you haven't been taking advantage of.
What is the % share of that in foundries? Today? 5 years from now?
Not I. The board gets maybe 5 posts/day on a good day. Not worth the effort. It's a lonely place (x).
Ha! I held a Top Secret security clearance in the Air Force. I'm sure as Arlo Guthrie said:
And friends, somewhere in Washington enshrined in some little folder, is a
study in black and white of my fingerprints.
You can record multiple fingerprints so you have backup fingers in case one or two gets mangled.
duplicate (seems to happen often on iHub these days)
Just like is happening in California, states trying to get rich on marijuana sales will drive consumers back to the black market. The legal retail prices rise to cover state imposed costs while the black market offers affordable cannabis. The states are stupid like that.
Yeah, the end of year hype was simply misunderstood, right?
My wife and I went to a Melting Pot in the Phoenix area back in the 80's/early 90's. I wasn't impressed. Certainly not $100 impressed. Never went back and I'm amazed they are still around!
There are many who are way too emotionally involved to see that this polymer is years away from doing anything "en masse", if ever. Whatever Lebby says is believed.
