I just sent Corran a post. He sounds like someone out of the 80's...it is really hard to keep up with solar power changes isn't it?
ola
Corran Horn
That SOUNDS good, but it applies to everything in terms of power produced, or utility versus power to produce, and yes, even power necessary to re-cycle.
Actually, solar power panels are a great investment. One of the unique qualities is that as their power output diminishes over time, it is not necessary to replace them, just add another to the grid. Solar power is on an equal footing with fossil fuel power generation. Initial investment costs in solar power are now recaptured in less than 10 years.
One of the foremost authorities in America today is Richard Perez, editor and owner of Home Power Magazine. See them at homepower.com or give Richard a call. He is easy to talk too and has all the latest "wave" right on the tip of his tongue. He is well known for his radio appearances and editorials. His wife Karen is very popular at various science fairs and power technology functions.
Richard started out with a 12 Volt battery and an old Delco alternator in about 1970...siphoning gas from his ___________ (insert name of various POS he had) (WAIT!, maybe he siphoned it from my pickup???) Before that we went to bed as the sun went down. We carried water in 6 gallon containers from the spring 500 yards away. By the way, beans cooked in cast iron last a long time without refrigeration...and coyotes LOVE the leftovers.
Today, "agate flats" is a modern homestead, using nothing but solar power, communicating instantly all over the world through various mediums and is self-sustaining. The whole operation is quite amazing. I follow what they are doing pretty regularly.
Solar power generation technology moves rather quickly...it is easy to understand how people can fall far behind as to what is REALLY going on.

lol...I am definitely full of wind at times...yes!
Is there truly a wind farm being built on the CA/OR border?
What a waste of time and money. Present day technology for wind generators is laughable. They also take up a LOT of room. Solar panels are coming...very slowly. I think the government gave them $67,584.32 for research last year. Oil interests have no interest. Don't rock the boat you damn hippies!

From a failed predictions list...very amusing stuff:
Liberal Christians tend to interpret various passages in the Christian Scriptures literally. For example:
Gospel passages shows that Jesus' believed that the second coming would occur very soon, during the lifetime of his followers (i.e. before the end of the 1st century CE). Mark 9:1 is one such verse. Jesus is recorded as saying: "...Verily I say unto you, That there be some of them that stand here, which shall not taste of death, till they have seen the kingdom of God come with power." (KJV)
A literal interpretation of Paul's epistles also shows that Paul anticipated the event in his near future, and during his own lifetime -- again during the 1st century CE:
In 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17, he wrote: "For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord." Here, Paul seems to be referring to himself and some of the recipients of his letter as being alive when Jesus returns.
In 1 Thessalonians 5:2-11, he wrote: "For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober." Here, Paul urges the recipients of his letter to be on guard at all times, because he expected the second coming to happen within their lifetimes.
Of course, both Jesus and Paul were wrong. Jesus' return did not happen during the 1st century CE.
Christ and Paul were just as goofy as the "space aliens" and "rapture" people today.

No, it appears that way...small wheels.
It is NOT a large vehicle and I am suspicious of the 4 wheel drive FORD setup in relation to the ladder frame. This kind of engineering costs 100's of millions of dollars.
The interior shots are purposely blurred...when I did catch a clear shot, the fit and finish was sloppy and things just sort of "end" in places. The dashboard is random and the gauge display array is not very sophisticated.
If they survive...a big IF, they will have a lot of catching up to do. Something small companies like this never really do is catch up, they do have good salespeople tho'
A new Avanti would be a better risk...some history of excellence, engineering and a long generic line.
All in all, a Jeep is a "best buy" now-a-days. Now there is an unbroken history enhanced by Chrysler and yanked into the modern era with not so much as a whimper.
LaForoza has been making a lot of noise for years...reminds me of that God-awful "Dusenberg" being made now-a-days. What an ugly, ill-conceived design...and the owners brag "Yup, she's a Duesy" then they adjust their gold chains, check their $20,000 watch, and "strut" out to their car. With a great struggle, they enter, start up the engine, (that does not exhaust out of the phony exhaust pipes), race the engine a couple of times and place it in gear, which causes the ill-proportioned plastic fenders to wiggle and oscillate. Bottoming out on the speed bump, they step on it, squatting on the 70 year old suspension...and Thank God! THEY ARE GONE!

Now that we are on hot water heaters!
Moving your hot water heater outside can save tons of money and free up room inside. If there is a convenient space on the SOUTH side of the house, consider a heavily insulated box 36"
X 36"X height painted Black. Out in the country where there is lots of room, people mount them outside...plant a little ivy, and they disappear into the landscape. Has to be close to the house. The super insulated "shed" with thick insul board under the heater and heavily insulated pipes back to the house and the sun bearing on it makes for super efficient retention of the heat.
Another trick is to get a large 24 hour timer and have the hot water heater shut off from say 9 at night to 6 in the morning. If your house is unoccupied daytimes, it could shut off from 30 minutes before departure in the morning until dinnertime, then shut off again from 9PM until morning. Amazing savings. You see, the heater comes on and warms the water to lets say 130 deg.F This is a lot of water (average 50 gals) If the heater is off, you still have a lot to shower or wash the dishes...what does it matter if you use all the hot water? It will come on again before you need it again. Clever time management = lower power bills.
Otherwise, the heater comes on everytime the water temp drops to say 120 deg F...there is a constant on/off going on here. Costly. Hot Water Heaters are a huge part of your power bill.
Extra heavy insulation around the water heater, even when installed inside the home will cut dollars off the heat bill.
Another thing, if you have a gas fired heater...check the vent pipe to see that all connections up and out of the house are MALE into FEMALE and are tightly wrapped with approved tape. Incorrect installation here is how people die. If the pipe allows gas discharge into the house, all that needs to occur is a little trash get in a burner, or air flow be restricted and voila, you have incomplete combustion which creates carbon monoxide poisoning. No odor, DEADLY! No warning!

It is a fine sentence joe. Your mind is in denial.
The posters here understand. A lot of them feel sorry for you. You are so pathetic. Some could care less. I sort of side with the ones that could care less.
In my case you are one of those people that make me laugh because you are so goofy and because you are so goofy you are an easy target.
You are the board clown and your parents despair you will ever straighten up and be someone other than the board clown.
One or both of your parents spoiled you.
That is: spoiled for society and spoiled for yourself.
A little honesty and a lot of professional help is indicated. Unfortunately, you have to equate honest with cure, that is, after you convince yourself you have a problem.
Sort of a Catch-22 for someone such as yourself. In time, the misery and unhappiness will overwhelm you. Don't kill yourself joe, seek help, be honest. Life can be fun.
ola
joemoney
If that ISN'T the case, why are you so pathetic about everything else?
ola
So Joe, you just sit there in front of your monitor and pretend. You fantasize your fortune, your stocks, your Mercedes Benzes, your home. You are 21 years old and one day you will be alone.
Instead of taking advantage of the generosity of your parents and getting out there in the world and learning something, you just create a drag on their life and a vacuum on your mind.
You read a story somewhere of how a kid cruised the internet and hyped a stock, made a bundle and got caught.
You, of course are trying the same thing...the money would be nice but you would really like to get caught and become "hot" news in the papers.
What a loser

mr.mark..................................Corran is correct, just replace it. I grant you, it may never leak again but chances are it will. With us standing by I can't imagine anything outlandish other than a $10 bill for a new valve.
Try Home Depot.
Corran: Ships at Sea are a multi-million $ ongoing repair. We use duct tape exclusively and to great effect. If you are spending less than $7 a roll you are getting poor performance.
Just like Scotch 33 electrical tape. There is nothing better. Use 3/$1.00 tape and you will have problems from the get go.
Sometimes we order a shaft because the old one is bent and keeps knocking out bearings. The ship is lets say; 25 years old. It costs us about $8,000 for that shaft. One is made from original blueprints...that is the cost of doing quality repairs...all else is BS

Notice how people ask for but don't follow advice?
I repaired a freezer for the local hardware owner one day. He and I got along great and I always paid my bill by return mail. Frank was really helpful and I was always glad to see him. His wife and I laughed a lot about men and appliances. One day they called me to repair their freezer full of meat. I fixed it and told her everything was OK, went down to the hardware and got paid.
Next week I stopped in and asked how was the freezer going? He said, "Well I got home that night and it was running, but the sides were hot so I didn't want to lose that food, so we drove hell for leather to Astoria and bought a new freezer! I said "Good god Frank, they are SUPPOSED to get hot on the sides, why didn't you call me?" He just shrugged.
He decided to call.
I fixed.
He decided I didn't.
Why call me?

The behind the scenes reasons are sordid. Our wealthy industrialists and the wealthy leaders of the world are behind what we do and don't do...Just look at oil and the middle east. They won't spend the huge capital to catch up on our production here at home. Just raked in the profits from foreign oil for 50 years and disrupted the entire world, killing millions in an attempt to keep raking in the oil and money from other worlds. American wealth won't spend the necessary dollars. Oil from the Middle East was cheap 1925-1975, now we haven't the capacity to be isolationist. They claim they are helping other nations...bull...it is secret alliances, treaties and "deals"
