And the pile of cash equivalents?
TC said there would be an Annual Shareholder Meeting soon. I’m thinking that “soon” is probably in the next 3-4 months and I expect that it will come right after a good news announcement….looking for a victory party.
it’s 11:30 and we have traded 71k shares….the interesting part that’s 71,000 shares in 27 trades which is less than 3000 shares per trade working out to $200/trade.
Is this somebody buying/selling the same 3000 shares to create the illusion of activity?
A few points….the email exchange was 5-6 weeks ago so I doubt that the script existed at that point. I didn’t ask about MacB or Eutectrix and those topics never made it to the CC. His response was <24 hours.
I, also came away with a positive feeling from the CC. I was impressed that he updated the ATJ project since I had sent an EMail to him asking that exact question and he promised to provide an update at the CC.
I just read the article about Mark Mobius’ inability to get his money out of China because of “Capital restrictions.” The next article was one about Warren Buffet dumping his BYD holdings so I have a question…
Exactly where are the 400+ million shares of LQMT stock owned by Lugee Li ??? I remember him transferring them to LQMT Hong Kong but I lost them after that. Were they pledged as part of the $30 million currency deal?
I have a feeling they are locked in China …never to be traded again.
Nobody just exits 14 million shares once it gets to $.15 or $.20 because the of the impact on price. One has to scale out just as one has to scale into that quantity. And then I would expect him to hang onto a significant chunk in case it does go to $0.50 or $1 or $2. FOMO just in case.
If I remember correctly TC’s options are 10 year exercisable at $1 so that means he makes nothing unless the price exceeds $1 . He needs $3, $4, $5 to make significant money. Is this correct?
Short sale fact check…..LQMT has a short interest of 377K shares for a grand total of $28k. This amounts to about one day’s volume.
If a single entity shorted 100% of the volume the leverage is wrong…the upside is $0.07 if the price goes to zero but the downside if the price pops is unlimited. Sucker bet.
OK! I’ll bite…my thoughts/expectations.
Don’t expect anything significant on the earnings front. Perhaps a token amount ($10-50k) in royalties/commission would be an encouraging sign.
I’ll take a rent hike for our tenant as a positive!
I would hope for an update of some sorts on the “golf venture” since it’s been a year since the original announcement. Also something on the MacB arrangement even if it’s an admission of “It went bust!” Anybody heard anything about Eutectrix?
I don’t think our partners in the MAZE are interested in establishing a manufacturing presence outside of China and they are wary of sharing their technology.
LQMT needs a manufacturing partner in the US to be considered for anything major. So far, we have failed to find anyone willing to front the capital and take the risk…”You Bet Your Job” is the opposite of FOMO.
LQMT a really needs several manufacturing partners…pick one or more from Tesla, Ford, Foxconn for Apple etc and one as the champion for the broader market serving medical, rivets, aerospace but more of a specialty application. Everyone is concerned about the effect of the political situation on any future relationship.
LQMT has some sort of convoluted relationship with Apple. Interesting that Apple attorneys defended the trademark dispute and the use of CIP as a bridge between the companies is a mystery since the details are confidential.
The patents will eventually run out but the key technologies are not in the patents and held as “trade secrets” so the patent issue is irrelevant.
I don’t think Lugee Li purchased LQMT for the patents although the combination of his patents and LQMT’s patents lend a certain credibility to owning the technology. I do think the purchase of LQMT was a way to get closer to Apple,
Zirconium is a concern for domestic manufacture since the US has none and China is the main producer. We would end up purchasing from Sanxiang which wouldn’t be a comfortable situation long term.
I’m cutting this off since it has no logical end point.
How in the world can you short a stock that only trades $15-20k a day and make any money? How can you make a statement like that?
Like all of us, JB has a tendency to share his thoughts occasionally and if this can be construed as “pumping” , it’s in the eye of the beholder. Personally, I think he makes a big effort to dig into the background and doesn’t fabricate stories to engage in the “pump and dump” scenario. If he currently holds 14.5 million shares…he has 1.5% of the entire company and he is committed to its success.
I’m not so sure you can say JB is “trapped”. Yes today there is insufficient liquidity for him to exit but I can remember when he had 6 million shares, then 8 million and now more than 10 million. Sounds more like committed than trapped.
“Don't throw me in that there briar patch”
Not relevant since BMG isn’t suitable for “one-of” unique pieces parts.
Interestingly, I consider Tesla to be the way for LQMT to find its whale. Tesla has. already gone through the thought process of “moulding vs.machining” and has opted to mould wherever possible. Tesla’s investment in Giga machines is the proof. Various smaller BMG parts have been finding their way into vehicles and I only see this trend expanding as some components need stronger alloys than those used in the Giga parts. Tesla has the guts to make the leap since Elon Musk supports the technology…can’t say the same for Tim Cook.
US manufacture will be more expensive but could be a selling point. India is politically fickle and after spending beaucoup de bucks, you could get nationalized….same situation as China.
So if Apple is going to introduce a folding IPad in 1H-2024 wouldn’t it be wonderful if the plant was in the US. The investment to build a facility (no matter where) would be running late for a 12-18 month time horizon. Many questions and no answers or even clues.

Maybe Lugee Li is going to use the $40 million to take a position in Sanxiang Advanced Materials (603663ss) to gain control of the zirconium supply chain. Sanxiang is the Materion of China and supplies the BMG feedstock for Yi’an.
Sanxiang just reported a 60% YOY growth. Li’s approach is to vertically integrate his empire….just thinking no facts to support.
As long as we are speculating about the potential uses for 40 million dollars…..I don’t think that 40 million is large enough to acquire 500 million shares of LQMT. I also think there are barriers that come into play if Lugee Li increases his ownership past 50%.
I would rather see him loan LQMT the cash to build a manufacturing facility adjacent to an Apple ( or Foxconn) plant in the US. That headline would make my day.
I’m confident that LQMT will ultimately turn out to be a ten bagger but I have one concern. What happens if SOMEONE comes out of the woodwork and offers $0.30/share and the good professor (or his heirs) decide that “a bird in the hand…”. Obviously, the 415 million shares controls the show.
Another possible alternative is that Apple coerces Foxconn or other entity to acquire Eontec/LQMT et al and let them absorb the whole value chain. In the Foxconn case, a Taiwanese company would have to want to purchase a company on the Chinese mainland…not highly probable.
Fidelity is showing 1 million + shares at a bid of $0.0661.
Looking back at “80” for a few years now…money becomes less important but I wish we would take off so I don’t have to explain the technology to my grandchildren.
Consider LQMT as an option play on the technology that expires if they run out of cash in 10+ years. Patience
Dispersing a fine powder that hasn’t melted would result in a continuous matrix with the particles acting as a “filler” dispersed in the matrix. I don’t think that get us to the final BMG at the atomic level..
It’s an interesting concept to disperse carbon nanotubes in a BMG matrix to create toughness. I actually think I read of something like that in work of one of Prof Li’s minions.
Not necessarily….those references I found were specifically targeted on dental implants. I found no obvious patents but many companies don’t patent/ publish their technology.
Separate issue..zirconium, titanium and vanadium have melt points in the 3200-3400F range which creates questions on how they can be molded in dies that melt at 2200F? Obviously our partners are able to process 60% zirconium in 106 without reaching that high a temperature so a question is moot.
Eutectic alloys are mixtures that can melt at temperature below the melt points of the components but I haven’t seen references that this is something that is in the optimization matrix. The problem is I can’t figure how they can injection mold something like the 106 alloy without using incredible pressures. As I said before…80% of the technology is in the process, not the alloy composition.
Li has a corner on the process technology…no question or debate.
There is lots of references that combine titanium, vanadium, zirconium, hafnium, niobium to make a workable BMG. Many also include beryllium indicating a Materion influence and the age of the reference.
They typically contain a majority of titanium (40-60%)., zirconium at 10-20% , vanadium at 5%+/- plus 4-5 other minor components.
These are typically academic exercises with no hint of a fabrication methodology.
XRF measures weight percent and the right hand column lists the +/- 95% confidence limits for each element. Also known as the 3 sigma limits of the test.
Zirconium is 9.70% +/- 0.30
I don’t think that Apple would intervene on a takeover bid…such a move would create a strange situation with Eontec and other suppliers to their competitors.. would it turn into a three way technology sharing deal?
Too much pain for the potential return. I think they would just confirm their ability to use the technology and back away.
Apple has the right of first refusal on any potential takeover….it’s in the 2010 agreement.
That is probably why Li has less than 50%.
Does the recent slide in the Market qualify as a selling climax? It would seem we are due for a “breather” in the free fall.
Sooo…Chairman Powell raised the fed rate by 0.5% today…..he also indicated that the rates will continue to go up in 2023 but at a decreasing rate. There will be no interest rate decreases in 2023.
With these inputs, the rate of inflation will plateau and perhaps decrease slightly in some consumer areas. Earnings will be under pressure but P/E has room to expand at the prospects of a more accommodating FED.
The stock market is a leading indicator…anticipating the economy by 4-6 months so it should strengthen in mid-2023. There is plenty of room for a significant rebound….and hopefully LQMT will be a participant.
If hope is a plan, we would all be rich.
The closing trade was only 100k sharea….less than $7000. It’s not significant and just more “static” in the numbers.
Anybody know why the stock trading in LQMT has been delayed since 10:03 am??? Only traded 15k shares prior….announcement???
Last year the Q3 results were reported on 11/15
BEATS headphones…apparently the headphone picture was removed from the website in the Summer of 2021. The question is whether it was removed at the customer’s request or because the application failed to materialize ?
One of the unique properties of BMGs has to do with its ability to make good springs….high deformation/elongation and recovery. We keep seeing what looks like “BEATS” headphone frames in the Eontec PR so the big question is….was that a prototype or is there the possibility of some real business there?

Thanks for the update…I guess nobody has been interested enough to have it tested. We probably have to wait for Eontec to make some irrelevant press release and have a unidentified watch frame tucked away in an obscure corner.
So I’ve been “out of touch” for the last 4 weeks….has there been any update on the IWatch materials of construction. Has anyone determined if it’s really titanium or LiquidMetal?
And what if the center of the golf ball isn’t exactly spherical but has an appendage inside the ball. Point it ahead, it goes straight, shift it 90 degrees to hook or fade the trajectory. Cheaper than a gyroscope!
