"Trump Media’s auditor is really bad at spelling his own name.
Meet Ben F orgers (we wish we were making this up)"

The founder of the accounting firm hired by Donald Trump’s social media group has used 14 variations of his name in filings with the industry regulator, far more than any other US auditor, according to a review of public documents.
Ben F Borgers, whose accountancy firm BF Borgers inspects the finances of Trump Media & Technology Group, has filed Form APs to the US Public Company Accounting Oversight Board using the names Ben F Brogers, Blake F Borgers, Ben F Vonesh and Ben F orgers, among 10 others — some of which look like simple spelling mistakes — according to Public Company Accounting Oversight Board data."

"Huge shortage of PCAOB registered auditors?" The kinds of quality issues I buy never have problems finding highly credentialed CPAs. The Big Four firms are always competing among themselves
My own standards are far beyond the bare minimum. All of my stocks are audited by Big Fours. Minimum market size:~$10 billion. Usually NYSE listed. Never startups.

"Sham Audit Mill’: SEC fines, permanently suspends BF Borgers"
"In its 2022 PCAOB inspection report published in November, all 11 of BF Borgers’ audits inspected included deficiencies. The firm has received mainstream attention this year as the auditor of former President Donald Trump’s media company.

Real wide-sweeping DD indeed. I constantly encounter that junk operation. How many times have I said, Always start with the CPA firm.
"Auditor BF Borgers was suspended and prohibited from practicing by the SEC today, effective immediately. They have over 300 SEC registered clients and over 20 broker/dealer clients. This is massive."
Another example of why I never buy stocks for fat dividends. Prefer those that pay durable "market rate" payouts of around 1%-3%. Index funds sill doing well and paying nicely,
Strange that t LEG was still increasing its dividend until recently. They do a lot of business in auto interiors. including EV interiors. That surely hasn't gone well lately.
One thing hasn't changed, my belief that 90+% of investors would do better sitting tight in low cost index funds and ignoring fads and headlines.
"Leggett (LEG) Lags on Q1 Earnings & Sales, Cuts Dividend by 89%." Been trimming my Leg holding for ages. Once about my largest holding several decades ago.
"Leggett significantly reduced its second-quarter dividend to 5 cents from the prior-year figure of 46 cents. The company noted that the move has been undertaken to free up capital to accelerate the deleveraging of its balance sheet and solidify long-held financial strength. The dividend will be paid on Jul 15, 2024, to shareholders of record on Jun 14.
Quarter in Details
Leggett reported adjusted earnings per share (EPS) of 23 cents, which lagged the consensus estimate of 25 cents by 8% and decreased 41% from 39 cents reported a year ago.
Net trade sales of $1.1 billion missed the consensus mark of $1.11 billion by 1.5% and declined 9.6% from the prior-year quarter’s level of $1.2 billion (all org

Love it! "MedMen’s spectacular collapse is complete: Just six years after earning a whopping $3 billion valuation, the onetime legal cannabis darling has declared bankruptcy."
"Six years after an IPO that saw its valuation peak at over $3 billion, cannabis retailer MedMen is worth next to nothing. Its bankruptcy petition, filed in California court late on Friday, is the nail in the coffin for what’s been a stunning fall from grace for a company whose troubles speak to broader challenges in the legal cannabis industry."
“MedMen has been ‘DeadMen’ to most investors for a long time,” cannabis industry analyst Alan Brochstein told Fortune. “The world should have seen this coming, but not everybody did.”
"is it a one-off thing? No, unfortunately, it’s not,” Brochstein said. “I think what it tells you is that people can get overly enamored of stores, or products, or things like that, without doing the due diligence. This company has been a disaster from day one.”
MedMen’s bankruptcy filing, where it disclosed over $400 million in liabilities, is the final chapter in the company’s spectacular collapse. High interest rates and bitter investor sentiment prevented it from refinancing its debt obligations, and the company even stopped filing disclosures with the SEC."

Virtually every major stock index is up nicely. S&P up 1.10% today.
Yes, I've long wanted to see a study of how Buffett's discards perform.
"I am sure there have been many studies and testing re both purity and nutritional value."
"I am sure there have been many studies and testing re both purity and nutritional value." And we see those test results every day in the plummeting stock price.
Stop spamming this board. with Junk Chinese stocks. Got any current audited numbers on this dead stock.???
Globe Life is a mess. Several there will be going to prison.
Falls every day. Typical china crap
Pals of demigods Buffett/Munger are up 14% YTD and they aren't likely to be part of the slobbering, bleeding EV mob. I'm proud of the advice I've been giving my kids to shun stocks making headlines. The herd is usually wrong.
??? "Can you post BA's history?" Not sure IHUB's servers can hold it all.
Starting from Boeings birth in 1916 or from the 2001 spinoff of Rockwell International? Rockwell divided into Rockwell Automation and Rockwell Collins, which recently included the thriving Carrier Air Conditioning and Otis Elevator operations, both major div payers/growers.
The stupendous Rockwell Automation saga is additionally complicated by several highly successful stock dividends such as Skyworks Solutions.
Furthermore, I've added to my large ROK holding over the years.
Again, I rarely sell my rock solid winners and I don't use stop losses with my quality investments.

Best article I've read about Boeing recently. From Fortune.
"Boeing’s CEO search has a new frontrunner—and insiders say it could mean a radical change for the $104 billion ailing planemaker"

"That's an interesting article, isn't it?"
Interesting and revolting. Apparently Globe was legit for many years. Now it may be perfect for American Greed.
I immediately thought of you when I saw Zion Oil.
Must read -- must bookmark -- post provided by Janice. Most of those shorters were new to me.

I gave up trying to figure out OMOLIVES over a year ago. Largely given up on many other IHUB screwballs too. Did appreciate your info, Janice, about Fuzzy Panda Research which apparently is several years old. Its writeup on Zion Oil dates to 2018

Any idea who shorter Fuzzy Panda Research is? https://fuzzypandaresearch.com/
I've figured we're long overdue for some more Hindenburgs. New competition for the highly successful Nate Anderson perhaps?
Anyway, "Berkshire Hathaway has sold off all 6.35 million shares it held in Globe Life."

Typical?
"Allegations of widespread customer abuses at Arias, including increasing premiums without customers' knowledge, pushing products on people in financial straits, and forging customers' signatures. Several former agents previously told BI they saw colleagues write up policies in the names of dead people"
Your kind of guy, Janice? LOLOLOL.
"Dinks in hand, shirtless insurance agents cluster around the 5,000-square-foot Neptune Pool at glitzy Caesars Palace.
Prominent among them, sporting a blanket of tattoos on his bare sculpted chest is Simon Arias III, an agency owner and life-insurance sales machine. He makes the rounds among his subordinates. He puffs on a cigar with one group. He cradles a pineapple cocktail with another.......
Should have been 60+++% Research the company.
"Wow. A NYSE stock. Got whacked for 50 percent:"
My post has nothing to do with politics. I almost never talk about politics.

I'm constantly stunned by the stupidity of IHUBers. How do you know it's the changing of the President and not -- for instance, the changing of the vice president or even The Undersecretary of the Treasury? We get a new one of those every few years.
"' I was just sharing my frustration UNDER THIS PRESIDEN that my strategies no longer worked as well is all'' .
BTW, there's a T at the end of "President."
OTC stocks are terrible investments Do I have to post that SEC study again? The current bull market has been powered almost exclusively by large cap listed stock.

I don't own this crap foreign penny stock. Never have.
Jesus, 17 cents!
Years ago I recommended on this board that you go into an S+P 500 index fund, but apparently you feel compelled to place bets on hot or faddish stocks. Do you realize how well S&P 500 index funds (like the ones Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway owns...VOO and SPY) have performed? Below is a recent chart of the S&P 500. I have a seven figure stock portfolio which includes six figures in SPY. Note the chart doesn't show the nice growing dividends.
