"I don't know as I haven't researched it."
OK. Then let me help you along. Here is a link to all of Spheres' 2013 Press Releases.
Let's begin with the one dated 3/4/13. It states: "Sphere 3D Corporation (TSX-V:ANY) is a Mississauga, Ontario based virtualization technology solution provider whose patent pending Glassware 2.0™ technology makes it possible for incompatible devices and applications to run over the cloud, without sacrificing performance or security."
OK, now let's go to the latest one on 11/12/2013. That one states: "Sphere 3D Corporation (TSX-V:ANY) is a Mississauga, Ontario based virtualization technology solution provider whose patent pending Glassware 2.0™ technology makes it possible for incompatible devices and applications to run over the cloud, without sacrificing performance or security."
You,re a smart guy so you probably already have figured out that most likely ALL of their Press Releases for 2013 say the same thing, ie, that the patents are pending.
So now that you have this valuable information, please answer my question:
Do you consider this statement posted by one of your bashing associates just this morning to be FACT or DESPICABLE?
"Common, the company only started using "patent pending" in filings etc upon listing on NASDAQ."
I believe you are the one who said: " Posting false information or rumors as fact is despicable."
Or am I misquoting you?
" Posting false information or rumors as fact is despicable."
OK then. Do you consider this statement posted by one of your bashing associates just this morning to be FACT or DESPICABLE?
"Common, the company only started using "patent pending" in filings etc upon listing on NASDAQ."
Now, Keuby, I should warn you before answering, that I can provide you with Press Releases and Filings going back to early 2013 in which the company clearly states that their technology is "patent pending".
OK, go ahead and answer my question.
"So at this point in time GW is NOT known to be embedded in Win 10"
Not only is it NOT known to be embedded in Win 10, it is known NOT to be embedded. That was made perfectly clear in a tweet by Michael Keen in response to a question about this. Here's what he said: " first & foremost #Win10 & #Azure r not built on Glassware container tech, but it is a big value add 2 both platforms"
In my view, just being a valuable add-on to both Azure and Win 10 is HUGE. The quote from the article I posted earlier today says a lot too:
Nicole Herskowitz, senior director of product marketing for Microsoft Azure, said. "Sphere 3D's solutions extend the capabilities of Azure enabling customers to seamlessly manage apps and data in a hybrid cloud environment."
In discussing this add-on as opposed to embedded thing with the professional basher on the Yahoo board I used this comparison: "At one time power steering and power brakes were a luxury OPTION on cars. At some point they became so popular that they became standard equipment."
Hopefully GlassWare will become "standard equipment" for Microsoft and maybe others. That would really be something.
"Is GW definitely known to be embedded in Win10?"
GW is definitely known NOT TO BE EMBEDDED in Win10!
WOW! I am really impressed. If Sphere is able to BAMBOOZLE all these tech experts, customers & partners, they must be really good.
Laura Didio, highly respected tech reviewer tested GlassWare and said: " it does everything it claims to do. Sphere3D Glassware 2.0 & V3 Appliances are all excellent."
Dustin Hardin, Director of Technology of New Caney ISD, a current Glassware customer said: "We tried traditional virtualization techniques but the specific applications we needed couldn't virtualize or wouldn't scale. With our Glassware 2.0 enabled Dell(TM) server, we were able to virtualize the applications we needed and future proof our investment in Chromebooks for our students."
Paul Shumway, Senior Vice President of Novarad said: "We have tested many of today's leading virtualization technologies and have looked at a number of potential solutions; none were able to deliver the simple migration to virtualization and incredible performance that we get from the Sphere 3D approach to virtual computing. The first time we saw our products run on Glassware 2.0, we were sold."
Vibhor Kapoor, Director, Microsoft Azure Product Marketing said “By working closely with Sphere 3D, we are able to continue to deliver on that commitment and provide a new level of flexibility for organizations looking for scalable application delivery from the cloud.”
Bryan Bleil, vice president of online technology implementation at Pearson. “We welcome Glassware 2.0 into the TestNav Qualified program as a technology provider that shares our goal for enhanced learning capabilities through technology adoption.”
Tim Law, President Novarad: "We initially envisioned NovaGlass as a solution that will leverage our PACS and RIS solutions to give users access to full imaging features from additional endpoints. However, over the last 12 months, it has evolved to significantly more. Today, having worked closely with the team at Sphere 3D and spent time canvassing our customers, we see NovaGlass as a platform that enhances clinical workflow and can increase our ability to positively impact patient outcomes."
Eric Kelly, Sphere 3D CEO: "The Microsoft relationship is long term. What rolled out is Phase I. Microsoft sees value on a Global basis. What you see now is just the beginning." Jason Katcher, Head of Education and Recruitment Advertising Google: “We see things diff. Leave it there. You sell on past. Others buy for future. Buying more (ANY shares) here. Nice job @Sphere3D on call.”
Todd Hartung, vice president of Promark: “End users and IT solutions providers are looking for choices and flexibility as they embrace cloud mobility and the relentless data growth in their environments. Our expanded relationship with Overland Storage and parent company Sphere 3D expands our solution portfolio, delivering more choice to our channel partners and empowering them to meet the expanding IT requirements of end users.”
Terri McClure, senior analyst at Enterprise Strategy Group, an IT research firm, observed that Sphere 3D's approach helps customers avoid the tangle of compliance and security issues that can arise when they engage with third parties to build out their hybrid clouds in response to the rise of mobile work style. SnapCLOUD fits the bills, McClure said. With the introduction of the its SnapCLOUD technology, "Sphere 3D appears to be addressing customers' needs to be able to centrally manage and deliver all of their enterprise data, regardless of whether it is on premise, in the cloud, or which device employees prefer to use for work," she asserted.
Simon Bramfitt says: "both Glassware and V3 have a genuinely new take on the business of getting Windows applications (Glassware) and Windows desktops (V3) in front of end-users."
Jeffrey Schwartz is editor of Redmond magazine and also covers cloud computing for Virtualization Review's Cloud Report. - “A new Microsoft partner, Sphere 3D, is making containers that have fewer dependencies than Docker.”
Larry Orecklyn, Microsoft VP and Chief Evangelist: “Sphere 3D is again demonstrating agility, creating exciting hybrid solutions architected to deliver user apps and data on-premises or in the cloud . That is what makes Sphere 3D a great fit with our Asure cloud ecosystem.”
Jim Broemmer, CEO at Adams Telephone Co-Operative. “There is a tremendous opportunity in the virtualization market that requires a solution with the right price performance benefits. Sphere 3D’s automated solution allows us to expand our portfolio of offerings to include economically sound virtual desktop and application services to our customers.”
Deni Connor, a principal analyst with Storage Strategies Now, said Sphere 3D wants to capitalize on the growing trend toward cloud-based file storage. "That gives them a cloud gateway capability so that users can store their data wherever they want. The fact they are allowing file and block access as well as supporting snapshots and replication is important.
Cyril Pennanech who is responsible for IT services and networking at LISA: “High availability of our storage infrastructure is critical to our research activity and the reason we chose SnapScale. We were also very impressed by the simplicity and scale of SnapScale. Since our initial deployment, we have seamlessly added capacity, and we expect SnapScale to continue growing as our data grows."
Roth analyst Krishna Shankar commented, "Following the merger between Overland Storage (OVRL) and Sphere3D, we believe that Sphere3D is making good progress in leveraging its cloud virtualization software and storage/virtualization appliance technology for any application and operating system running on any device including a key partnership with Microsoft's Azure Cloud services."
James Townsend: President of Microsoft Gold Partner InfoStrat, “Sphere 3D Virtualization Enables On-Demand Testing for Grades K-12.”
Mario M. Veljovic, Vice President Solutions MENA at Global Distribution FZE: “Partnering with Overland Storage, with its pioneering technologies, is a great step forward in our Mission. Being among the first to introduce their latest VDI Solutions in the region is a great privilege.”
Michael Keen, Tech expert and VP technology Services at Sphere: " Apps are the biggest challenge that enterprises face today. Getting them to the cloud is one of them... the Glassware platform is very disruptive and can help millions of apps..Glassware is a platform that can enable this migration and save enterprises significant $$ & empower.. IT orgs to make the transition of legacy apps to the cloud much easier. Glassware and hybrid cloud FTW"
Nicole Herskowitz, senior director of Product Marketing for Microsoft Azure: “As the world becomes more mobile and generates significantly more data, enterprises are seeking a mix of cloud and on-premises services that can help them quickly deploy applications and effectively manage all of this data. “Sphere 3D’s solutions extend the capabilities of Azure enabling customers to seamlessly manage apps and data in a hybrid cloud environment.”
David DelonyContributing Writer Transforming Network Infrastructure: "Offering SnapCloud on Microsoft Azure will net the company even more name recognition. The announcement will make Azure a valid choice for more people, and with an existing installed base of 300,000 for SnapServer, Microsoft is optimistic about the deal."
Not sure who updates the highlighted messages, but since originally posted, the positive Sphere quotes message has been updated several times and there is now about 50% more quotes than when first posted. My next message will be the updated version as of today so if someone with authority wants to make the change it would be appreciated.

"Offering SnapCloud on Microsoft Azure will net the company even more name recognition. While there are already a number of cloud providers, including Amazon Web Services, Microsoft is a “safe” IT choice in many organizations, similar to how earlier generations never got fired for buying IBM.
The announcement will make Azure a valid choice for more people, and with an existing installed base of 300,000 for SnapServer, Microsoft is optimistic about the deal."

Rule 201 – Short Sale Price Test Circuit Breaker. Rule 201 generally requires trading centers to establish, maintain, and enforce written policies and procedures that are reasonably designed to prevent the execution or display of a short sale at an impermissible price when a stock has triggered a circuit breaker by experiencing a price decline of at least 10 percent in one day. Once the circuit breaker in Rule 201 has been triggered, the price test restriction will apply to short sale orders in that security for the remainder of the day and the following day, unless an exception applies.
10% refers to drop from previous days close.

Novarad Bringing NovaGlass Virtual Workspace to 400 Healthcare Facilities
Shift to virtual environment seen as a catalyst for greater security, compliance, streamlined clinical workflow and reduced total cost of ownership
Utah-based healthcare technology company Novarad is planning to provide workflow optimized virtualization from Sphere 3D Corp. to 400 healthcare facilities that currently use Novarad's healthcare software. By updating these facilities with NovaGlass, healthcare practitioners can benefit from full virtualization capabilities including refreshed radiology workstations, enhanced clinical workflow and greater mobility.
Healthcare requires fresh information technology (IT) approaches in order to keep up with today's requirements for improved patient care under diminishing budgets. Although IT is often turned to as a potential solution, it too frequently has the opposite effect. Many attempts at virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) deployments are often abandoned due to excessive deployment and management complexity for IT departments or lack of performance.
NovaGlass was designed in conjunction with Sphere 3D, and incorporates a number of new virtualization technologies aimed at delivering performance-driven, well-designed implementations of VDI.
It can reduce desktop management costs associated with physical PC deployments, improve security by removing sensitive data from end-user devices and moving it into the data center, and free up valuable time that staff spend logging in, accessing specific data or being restricted from being able to work remotely. - See more at: http://www.itnonline.com/content/novarad-bringing-novaglass-virtual-workspace-400-healthcare-facilities#sthash.GKM0Y7vo.dpuf
"Clinton was an Overland shareholder going back to 2011.
Looks like they plowed about $6.5M into OVRL and rode it down the whole way."
Could you please provide a list of any & all trades Clinton made in OVRL, any option positions they hold or held, and the current value of their holdings relative to their investment? Thanks.
"If they raise more than a quarter or two's worth of cash, to me that means they have no confidence in the "$160M run rate".
However, a small amount doesn't necessarily demonstrate confidence, as it could simply mean more $ wasn't available.
Ah yes. Completely unbiased opinion that says whatever Sphere does is BAD. IMHO.
"I'm looking for EK to respond with a statement to the effect that $ANY's value is "far more than $10/share."
I was thinking exactly the same thing.
Interesting but difficult PR to evaluate. Could be taken a number of ways. But I have to think that if I was short 2M shares and a reputable investment firm proclaimed that they believed the company could be sold TODAY for twice the share price, I might be a little nervous.
Your message was a work of art.
"I suppose I need to tell you I'm joking about this?"
Confusious say: He who lies & gets caught tries extradite self by claim jokey.
I noticed that too. I guess he is so eager to fulfill his duties to the shorts that he is now getting less than 4 hours of sleep per night. That's what I call true dedication.
As far as you claiming that the shorts are winning, could you please explain this:
4/15/15 Short Interest 1,379,371 Share Price $3.39
7/15/15 Short Interest 2,425,006 Share Price $5.55
Short Interest Up 1,045,635 = 76%
Share Price Up $1.16 = 34%
If shorts can make money on those numbers, they are some really smart dudes.

Nice to get at least a partial list of the 2015 Sphere bashers Kindergarten class:
Keubiko ?@Keubiko @derek32smith @QuoththeRavenSA @RHILLTRADER @FinCharlatan @zigzagjones1
"beware the whales, beware the bears, beware the sharks... they all consider us delicious"
They also would probably enjoy a tasty GW Chip with a cold beer.
"So what, specifically, will the "chip" do? "
I find that if you have them with a nice cold beer they are quite tasty.
Sure would be nice if Sphere could hook up with this company and participate in the huge growth of their Azure cloud solutions.
What's that? Oh. NEVERMIND.

Have the shorts fallen in HATE with ANY?
It really appears to be the case. And any wise investor knows that the biggest LOSSES come when longs fall in love with a stock or shorts fall in hate. Of course it is also true that the biggest GAINS come from that too.
So the question becomes is the LOVE or HATE rational.
The shorts hate towards Sphere (at least on a short term basis) was certainly justified when the share price was $11, the company was still just a blip on the radar of the TSX venture exchange, they had a product that had not as yet been validated, and virtually no significant business relationships.
But at $3, after a merger giving them a revenue base, a move to the NASDAQ, product validation by actual knowledgeable people in the tech industry, and partnerships with significant tech companies; should that hate attitude have changed? Rational thinkers would say yes. But that doesn't seem to be the case as the short interest has gone up by over $1M shares while the share price has almost doubled.
They have gone from rational thinking, to just trying to rationalize all of Spheres' accomplishments. Partnership announcement with Microsoft? Doesn't mean anything. Expansion of Novarad partnership? Doesn't mean anything. New Caney deal? Doesn't mean anything. Texas regional center partnership? Doesn't mean anything. Pearson TestNav accreditation? Doesn't mean anything. Does that sound like rational thinking or rationalizing?
So now all they seem to have in their doom & gloom arsenal is to talk about the fact that Sphere doesn't have a huge cash stash and that they are going to have to borrow money or sell more shares. WOW. That's quite an argument. I'd like them to name any small cap companies with disruptive technology who didn't have to raise money until they reached the point of self sustaining revenue.
Hate is a even a more powerful emotion than love. It looks like they have become consumed with it towards ANY. That doesn't seem to bode well for their financial well being. How many of them will decide to take the other side of the bet. Not too late for that.
Thank you. Thank you.

"In any case ANY obviously paid. "
No, that is not obvious at all. Please provide proof of your allegation. While you are at it, tell us how many of the 100 companies on the list paid.
"Can't believe how gullible people can be."
Gullibility is when someone believes something that someone else says even though there is no proof presented to back up the statement. So, it would take a gullible person to believe what YOU claim.
The least you could have done when trying to present a non proven allegation as an absolute fact is to insert your usual IMHO.
Contacted CIO Review. They say that there is absolutely no fee to be on their list of the 100 Most Promising Microsoft Solution Providers. They have a panel that analyzes and determines who they believe should be on the list. If a company is on the list and wants to use reprints for promotional purposes or take advantage of their other marketing services, then there is a fee.
"However it was actually $5.16 at the time of upload"
Ooops! I imagine that the only one who would know the exact time of the upload and what the price was at that time would be the AUTHOR of the article.
Why am I not surprised that you find it necessary to be deceptive in even the most trivial things.
The last time you wrote a SA bashing article about Sphere the price was around $4.50.
I guess your short articles are a good source for long ideas.

$ANY – on watch. Just broke the top line of ascending triangle on 3 times average volume. All the indicators confirms a new bullish up trend. Look for a quick swing for 50-80 cents in 2-3 days.
Right now GREED IS GOOD!
For a real short squeeze to happen ( I mean the Anaconda type that absolutely decimates shorts) 2 things must happen.
1. Shorts must realize that their short thesis is no longer valid.
2. Longs have to be GREEDY.
I think #1 has happened, at least partially, and there is no reason to believe it won't spread like a California wildfire.
So the rest is up to the longs. Like many here, I have a core position of untouchable shares and then a lesser position of trading shares. Usually when a stock has made the percentage gain that ANY has in the last week, I would be reducing my trading shares. NOT NOW. No short will be able to get ANY share from me until they have to pay me AT LEAST $10. That's my pledge. And I expect to continue adding shares as possible.
So Mr. Short, if you want some of my shares under $10 you will have to rip them from my "cold dead hands".
Don't really see any value in that message.
When bashers say things that are untruths, misrepresentations, or that you just plain disagree with, I truly believe a response should be forthcoming.
When a basher is silent, I don't think it makes sense to criticise them for that, or try to put words in their mouth. And gloating is always wrong whether it is done by shorts or longs.
"There's enough to latch onto and pump without making up rubbish."
This is scary. We finally agree on something. I think I'll go take a cold shower.
