It has absolutely nothing to do with the company itself, period!
And as far as Ficksman unless your implying that he was involved in the Scam itself, which I do not see a single reference to him or even suggesting such anywhere including the article mentioned, and I personally would be careful about even thinking about suggesting in anyway, It again has nothing to with the company.
I don't agree on it being the end of the day at all and as for Feller I'm not sure what to think of him but agree something did not get done which appears to rest at least partially at minimum on his shoulders, hence why he is not in leadership position any more and new Leadership has taken primary control of the company and it's operations.
As for it being over for the commoner and I don't agree at all as my Brokerage and Accountant continue to recognized my Shares, the only way for Shares to be wiped out for a company that I am aware of is through Bankruptcy proceedings, which this company is not in and which then would follow a whole different process for everybody including it's leadership. None of which is happening.
Either way the Company still does continue to exist whether we are Trading for the time being or not. A historical issue as I understand it with all that remains outstanding is a historical Filing to address that issue.
There does appear to be a Management Team and there are existing Shareholders who will be waiting out the company's next move. I personally feel bad for the people are unable to buy and will be unable to be there when the company does make it's next big moves as this is a company with a real Product.
I guess at this point we will all have to wait and see.
Go ProElite!
Well I agree the current value is not what any of us would like it to be be, most of us are along for the ride at this point. Whatever will be, will be. We are all hoping the company will turn the corner, which it should have no problem doing with the right moves.
As far as Events making Money the UFC lost over 40 Million up to and including 40th Event, we are all hoping and I'm personally not thinking it should or will take us that long to make some money.
We will all see at the end of the day where it ends up.
Responses are in Red! LOL!!!
The Chairman, the President, the CEO, the COO, the CFO and all the Sr. VP's are THE SAME for both companies. What more do you want?
Nothing! lol! I thought I was pretty clear in addressing that which does even appear in your Quote of mine ( thanks for that! lol! ) "Well some of the Management is the same and some are not and appear to have no role in the other company. Many executives of one company or another have similar or sometimes other roles in other company's, sometimes affiliated and sometime not"
Good job pointing out that I am correct and your point really isn't one, I did identify that "some of the Management is the same and some are not and appear to have no role in the other company", the day to day Operational Administrative Roles for ProElite belong to people like T Jay Thompson who is the Director of Operation of ProElite but again don't appear to have any Role identified within or with Stratus itself so it's pretty clear I am right again so Thanks for pointing that out.
SMDI doesn't just own an "interest", it owns 95% and fully controls PELE - having all of SMDI senior executives now as PELE senior executives. SMDI officers are now PELE officers and running that company, whatever there is to run.
SMDI has nothing to do with ProEltie in the first place. SMDI is a Stock Symbol for a Company called Status Media Group who owns Shares in a company called ProElite, who's Shares are recognized separately from those of the Status Media Group.
There is no debate on this point.
Please Show me a Legal Document where it state the Legal Shares of ProEltie have have become those of the Stratus Media Group?
You can't because it does not exist. They are 2 separate company's with 2 separate groups of Stock, I thought I was pretty clear on that point as well. And to Re-Quote myself "Every Legal mention of ProEltie mentioned anywhere and everywhere including recent cases reflecting Legal Filing with the SEC have solely mentioned Proelite Inc. The US Government itself and most importantly the SEC see them as completely Separate Entities, they then by every definition are separate Legal entities."
Again I say they are nothing more than Shareholders until we see one Company, one Symbol, one Board and one group of Shareholders.
"ProElite Inc. is a separate legal entity, just like subsidiary corporations of other companies are also separate entities - no surprise there."
Yep I'm right again! lol! Thanks for that again! "Every Legal mention of ProEltie mentioned anywhere and everywhere including recent cases reflecting Legal Filing with the SEC have solely mentioned Proelite Inc. The US Government itself and most importantly the SEC see them as completely Separate Entities, they then by every definition are separate Legal entities."
"Yes, you are a shareholder of PELE. But the shares that once owned 100% of PELE have been reduced 20 times to now owning just 5% of PELE."
Yes your are Right there I am Shareholder and I continue to believe there is value ProElite and it's product and I cannot speak of or for Stratus.
Whatever value you thought was in ProElite on a per share basis has now been reduced by a factor of 20x since over a billion PELE share have to be issued (or have been issued) to SMDI upon conversion of its preferred stock.
I continue to believe there is value in ProElite and it's product and I cannot speak of or for Stratus. I will withhold my opinion until an I feel it has been an appropriate amount time has passed to then evaluate whether the people responsible for the company whom I have Invested in have done a good job. On the current status or value of my Investment it really doesn't appear to be any of your business as they are my Shares and you don't even appear to own any shares yourself, so have trouble seeing your point or appreciating your concern.

In reality these Shares and their value are all just numbers on a page. I have seen company's with tens of thousands of Shares who were worth nothing and company's with Billions of Shares who were or became worth billions. I personally don't care about Share Counts, I care about Value and Value alone, again I state "I continue to believe there is value in ProElite and it's product and I cannot speak of or for Stratus."
ProElite is what matters here.
and?...no one said otherwise.
Good call!
Go ProElite!
Either way is is fact! They own a large portion of Shares in PELE but not all of them and the US Government and the SEC see them as separate Legal entities with separate interests therefore separate legal company's.
The fact remains they are nothing more than Shareholders until we see one Company, one Symbol, one Board and one group of Shareholders. That is not the case at this time.
I continue to believe there is value ProElite and it's product and I cannot speak of or for Stratus.
Go ProEltie!
Well some of the Management is the same and some are not and appear to have no role in the other company. Many executives of one company or another have similar or sometimes other roles in other company's, sometimes affiliated and sometime not, means nothing until there is one Company, one Group of Management and one group of Stock with one Symbol, which is not the case here and until it is, there is nothing to talk about and everything else is fiction and mindless babble.
Again, Just because a separate company Reports on Interests or Holdings with a Consolidated Financial Statement that effectively means nothing! There are 2 separate groups of Stock and 2 separate company's who happen to be affiliated by the fact one company owns an interest in the other company, probably because that's where the real money is and I can't blame them for that.
Every Legal mention of ProEltie mentioned anywhere and everywhere including recent cases reflecting Legal Filing with the SEC have solely mentioned Proelite Inc.
The US Government itself and most importantly the SEC see them as completely Separate Entities, they then by every definition are separate Legal entities.
Again I say they are nothing more than Shareholders until we see one Company, one Symbol, one Board and one group of Shareholders.

What more do you want? ProElite is what matters here.
Go ProEltie!
Wrong! LOL! Just because a separate company Reports on Interests or Holdings with a Consolidated Financial Statement that effectively means nothing!
Subsidiary in its Legal definition only means that a company owns or controls more than 50% of the Stock it does not mean they are in any way a "Wholly Owned Subsidiary" or that they have Legally Merged as that would has been stated and Legally Recognized as such and this is and not been the case. Every Legal mention of ProEltie mentioned anywhere and everywhere including recent cases reflecting Legal Filing with the SEC have solely mentioned Proelite Inc.
As I have previously stated very clearly Stratus are large Shareholders! Nothing more! Anything suggesting otherwise is ridiculous and completely fabricated.
For the record, I am sure CBS who also continue to be a substantial Shareholder along with many others provide a Consolidated Financial Statement for all of their Interests as do I and every other Shareholder of ProElite, none of them say Stratus Media Group anywhere.
The US Government itself and most importantly the SEC see them as completely Separate Entities, they then by every definition are separate Legal entities.
The have 2 Separate Boards, 2 Separate Management Teams and most importantly 2 Separate Groups of Shareholders who own interests in the individual company's which are separate by every definition possible, there is no other point to be made.
Until CBS's( Who also continue to be substantial Shareholders ), Frank Sharmrock's, mine and every other Shareholders Shares Read and are directly identified as Stratus Media Group, a single company does not exist. There is no other point.
Who knows with Stratus may choose to sell their Stock and Interests in ProElite to someone else which they could do without selling whatever the rest of the company is, and we would again parts ways just as they bought them along with every other Shareholder.
There are 2 Company's! To that point there is no Question!
Again I say they are nothing more than Shareholders until we see one Company, one Symbol, one Board and one group of Shareholders. IMO. I continue to believe there is value ProElite and it's product and I cannot speak of or for Stratus.
Go ProElite!
They are nothing more than Shareholders until we see one Company, one Symbol, one Board and one group of Shareholders. IMO. I continue to believe there is value ProElite and it's product and I cannot speak of or for Stratus.
Agreed which makes Stratus as I had stated a large Shareholder as far as a consolidated Financial Statements that doesn't appear to be satisfying the SEC and does not address the point of being separately Incorporated Company with a Separate Stock Symbol. Also keep in mind all any and all Shareholders including those holding an interest in Status Media are Filing Separate Statements of Interest for any Interesting and ownership in ProElite, right down to people like Issac Blech.
I have no issue as far as your last Statement, you will find no debate from me, in my personal opinion Stratus's Interest in ProElite is the only thing Stratus has going for it with any real value being that interest alone.
Go ProElite!
ProElite and Stratus Media Group are in no way the same, they are incorporated separately with 2 distinct company names and 2 distinct Stock Symbols. The SEC does not see them as the same at all as it currently requires a completely separate Filing for each of the 2 separate company's.
Beside ProElite and Stratus are also not the same any more than Strikeforce is the same as the UFC because if they are someone should explain that to the Strikeforce Fighters who have largely been a mass exodus from Strikeforce to anywhere including the UFC and out of Strkeforce and any who are a left including the lame duck CEO who has lost any control of his company as all are well aware along with the public they are on a sinking ship that has been scavenged at will with no future and nobody left cares they exist. Even the Commentary Team have moved on to other Projects while we all watch the company die a slow but imminent death.
And in reality while Strikeforce is now a 100% wholly owned company of the UFC, Proelite is not! Stratus at this point is no more than large a Shareholder but not only one.
Until we see one company with one Stock Symbol there is no point to be made and anything to suggest otherwise is both blind and foolish.
It is my opinion there are more cards to play in this deck and we will all see what is what, when all they cards have been played, until then any talk of one company is ridiculous and pointless.
Go ProElite!
An Interesting development to say the least.
Frank Shamrock thinks Strikeforce is 'coming to an end'
By Tim Burke on Oct 17, 9:00p
Frank Shamrock is obviously a legend in MMA, and his burial by the UFC is a sad, sad thing. Shamrock has done a very good job keeping himself relevant outside of the bright lights of the UFC though, and part of that was through the creation of Strikeforce with Scott Coker. On Inside MMA this week, Shamrock spoke to Bas Rutten about the birth of Strikeforce, and what a letdown it was when the company was sold to Zuffa last year (transcribed by MMA Mania):
"Strikeforce was my baby. Scott [Coker] and I were sitting, like this, at a coffee shop. He was like, 'Bro, I wanna do MMA.' It was literally like that. And I go, 'Wow, are you kidding me? Do you know hard it is? Do you know how much money it costs and the risk there is?' And he and I were like bros, and we shook hands and said, 'Let's do it!' I put everything into that company. I mean, literally every day of my life, I woke up, and I breathed Strikeforce. It was the first chance I saw, besides the monopoly of the UFC, to give MMA a shot -- to give martial artists, who don't know what MMA is about, a nice picture of it. Scott was a martial artist as a promoter, and he got it. He let me do my thing. I'm an entertainer. I'm a risk taker. When we sold, it was harder than you [Bas Rutten] breaking my face in our first fight. It was like everything ended that day. It was really tough."
Shamrock was also quite blunt about the future of the company, which has cancelled its last two events but promises to be back in January 2013:
"Strikeforce is coming to an end. They've been consumed by a much larger company. They've got a brand and a direction that doesn't seem like it includes the Strikeforce brand. So, if history repeats itself, I think it's gonna go away, and we're gonna have a new show, a new opportunity, and hopefully a new platform."
Could Frank himself save the company he started if Zuffa was willing to sell it? Nope:
"I don't have the money to buy it. I mean, unless you've got the money, call me! But, I've been a risk taker my whole life, and I just don't see any way to save it, right now. I don't have the cash to do it."

My thoughts exactly! If you are Showtime are you really interested in staying the course and to continue to watch things continue to implode.
What was once a mighty star is beginning to look a more and more like a Black-Hole with a whole lot of problems you just can't fix without a major influx of energy, interest and a whole lot of extra cash which your quite willing to throw on the table, which I don't see any of it happening for that partnership with even aside from it being impractical in that it makes any sense for either side and anyone with a half a brain much less otherwise seemingly astute business people.
This is a little like Musical Chairs for ShowTime and I would hate to see what happens when the Music Stops and they don't have a chair, so hopefully they have a Plan because FOX and NBC both seem to be quite active in grabbing theirs as well as anybody else's who's willing to one up or for that matter quite willing to take it from them.
In terms of the interests of the UFC it already has begin it's mass migration to FOX another direct competitor who with them they have began growing and co-branding the product based on the Partnership and the joint venture between them with plans on expanding that product with them in mind to a specialized Fox Sports Station. Additionally the UFC must now find a way to still support and expand it's core offering on PPV and with all this going on I can't see how it can continue anything with ShowTime and/or CBS for that matter that would make sense with any Product.
It's my opinion that ShowTime will and does see's this for what it's worth and will do everything in it's power to make something happen or be at immanent risk to losing more market share based on the fact it does not have a viable Product available for the willing and buying public. It may well look to old friends with some new faces and some new money to be able make something happen. In my opinion no other Partner really makes near as much sense but I guess we will have to wait and see. IMO.
It will be interesting in any case.
Agreed and not surprising!
Strikeforce has been falling apart for a while. I personally see no point in Strikeforce continuing as the UFC has Poached the Roster near dry with mounting losses from the from the minute it was bought leaving little to nothing much to watch. While Strikeforce still had a handful of Fighters, to call much of anything left a Division is a Joke.
In my opinion the UFC has been struggling lately primarily because of moving around on Network TV and fighting battle ( it by design nor is any single Promotion able to win ) on to many fronts, thinning it's offering on PPV substantially leaving weak Fight Cards while other Promotions and the Sport continue to grow along side of it and to some degree more so.
MMA in my opinion is very much alive and well with lots of room and opportunity for anyone who wishes to push into the space, which many continue to do, as it expands day over day.
This will leave interesting times ahead for sure!
I agree on both accounts as well as 1 to 1 would be better! IMO
I think there is a very good possibility as in the past Stratus had talked about a "Roll up Strategy". I would like to believe we might get 1 to 1, but in all reality it probably would be 1 for x number of Shares, hopefully as close to 1 to 1 as possible. Let's hope!
Peace,
CB
I agree with you entirely on all points and feel likewise on the time and potential. We can all hope and at this point I feel only time will tell and whatever will be, will be.

The More You Know: Stan Lee’s Comikaze Presented By Pow! Entertainment and Elvira Mistress of the Dark
Miss Chrissy Lynn On April - 12 - 2012
Though it may seem like a long title, it’s legit. After some discussion earlier this year about the possibility of Stan Lee “acquiring” Comikaze, from a few friendly neighborhood sites, Comikaze creator, Regina Carpinelli, finally sat down with me and answered all of your questions about the newly loved and demanded Comic, horror, scifi, [insert other cool shit here] expo!
So in a nut shell Stan, Pow! Entertainment and Elvira are now major share holders in Comikaze Entertainment INC (the company which puts on Comikaze). This is also the first time that icons like Stan and Elvira have been more involved in a show other then being guests. Mind you this is NOT a Stan Lee PRESENTS show. She wanted to make that very clear. It is however Stan Lee’s Comikaze. He officially owns it and it is HIS show! Regina compares Stan to Walt Disney, where Walt created amazing characters and then built theme parks.
“Stan is the Walt Disney of our Generation, except Stan has conventions.”
“They are the Generalisimo of the Board and Mistress of the Board if you will” -Regina.
“Both the Stan Lee/Pow! and Elvira camps, have become super close to the Comikaze team and we are thrilled to not only call them our best friends but now our business partners.”
Regina expressed her enthusiasm and excitement for a very “SPECIAL” show this Sept 15th-16th, in LA. With that there will be some news names that should sure surprise us on the convention circuit and “a whole new level of awesome”. Now don’t think Regina has no more part in Comikaze she is still the CEO. “It’s funny to think that a year ago I was literally begging both Elvira and Stan to be a part of our first year show, they believed in me and the show was a hit and I owe a lot to them.” According to Regina, she was approached by Cassandra Peterson, aka, Elvira and Stan to be actual business partners. Naturally she couldn’t say no, could you?!
Now as we all know Cassandra announced that she was no longer appearing as Elvira anymore until Regina explained Cassandra’s last official appearance was at Comkaze 2011, however she was so blown away by the event itself and how well it was conceived, that Stan Lee’s Comikaze may be the only event she will ever appear as Elvira. ”She is one of the most brilliant business women I have ever met. She is now an owner and partner in Stan Lee’s Comikaze. Her and Stan have been friend’s a long long time , so it is cool that they now work together in our unorthodox show.” Regina, naturally couldn’t continue on with some of the big “top secret stuff” they have lined up for 2012, but we should all be just as excited.
But that’s not all, Stan Lee’s Comikaze Expo presented by Pow! has already been approached from several overseas groups, companies and thereof to set up something very similar to LA’s Comikaze Expo in their respective countries. Regina along with Stan and Elvira believe it to be a fantastic way to spread their legacy around the world, we couldn’t agree more! Stan will continue to do his normal appearances at other expos ans shows but will be much more involved with the business and creative side of things for Comikaze, after all he owns it, and Regina couldn’t be happier to have him involved.
“Between Stan Lee, Pow! Entertainment, Elvira Mistress of The Dark and the Comikaze team, you literally have some of the most BRILLIANT people working together . This unity is bringing in ideas which are being turned in to realities that no other show has done before.” Regina has goals, and we’re not talking about New Year’s resolutions, her goals are crystal clear; Stan Lee’s Comikaze will take geek conventions to a WHOLE new level! Mind you the show will be fun and affordable and about the PEOPLE! “Comikaze is all about having fun , and giving back to the fans.”

United States Sports Academy Researchers Present Clinical Trial Results For MusclePharms' Assault™ Pre-Workout Nutritional Supplement At National Strength & Conditioning Association's National Conference
DAPHNE, Ala., Aug. 1, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The United States Sports Academy (USSA), an independent, accredited university specializing in preparing students for careers in professional sports, today announced that its researchers have completed and presented clinical trial results on the safety and effectiveness of long-term use of nutritional supplement Assault™, a product developed and marketed by Denver, CO-based MusclePharm Corporation.
Key findings, presented by lead investigator Jordan Moon, Ph. D., at the National Strength & Conditioning Association's national conference held earlier this month in Rhode Island, included:
Assault™ significantly improved muscular strength without hindering cardiovascular performance;
Men who engage in activities that are either strength- or cardiovascular-based may benefit from long term supplementation of MusclePharm Assault™ without any detrimental health risks; and
Taking 1 scoop of Assault for 33 days had no impact on resting blood pressure, resting heart rate, or fasting glucose. In addition, chronic supplementation of Assault™ did not affect kidney or liver enzymes or cholesterol values.
"Based on the most recent and a previously completed study, Assault™ appears to enhance a single performance session by helping increase energy and focus and overall strength," said Dr. Moon, who is currently a distance faculty member of the Academy and previously headed the Sports Exercise Science Department. "Long-term also appeared to result in further improvements in strength, without compromising the health of our subjects."
"The product has been found to be a safe and effective supplement that may promote increases in strength, muscular endurance, energy, choice reaction and agility, while decreasing fatigue in healthy men," Dr. Moon added.
The national conference hosted hundreds of researchers, athletes, personal trainers and strength coaches from around the world. Assault™ was named the new supplement of the year in 2011 on bodybuilding.com.

Spider-Man creator all set to woo India with 'Tigeress' movie
New Delhi, Sun Jul 29 2012, 13:57 hrs
The creator of famed comic characters such as Spider-Man and X-Men, Stan Lee is turning his eyes on an Indian mythology-based motion picture whose leading lady would be from India.
The iconic octogenarian, who is "very excited" about the Indian market, is also working on India super hero comic book titled 'Chakra - The Invincible Hero' and even looking to bring his popular comic convention into the country.
"Apart from 'Chakra' super hero comic, I look forward for many opportunities in the Indian market. There is so much of untapped growth and talent in the country," Lee told PTI from Los Angeles in a telephone interview.
POW! or Purveyors of Wonder Entertainment Inc, founded by Lee, is working on the motion picture 'Tigeress'.
"The screenplay is getting ready and the film is mainly based on Indian mythology. The lead actress would be a super heroine and the story would be female-centric," Lee said.
The leading lady of the movie would be an Indian actress. According to him, this project is expected to be complete by end of next year or early 2014. The movie would be distributed in 2014 after tying up with a major film studio, he added.
Meanwhile, the company along with Liquid Comics is in advanced stages of completing 'Chakra', which is also based on Indian mythology.
"At the moment, we are working with the artistes and writers. This comic will be released both in traditional and electronic formats.
"Our goal will be to launch it by the end of this year. Otherwise, it will be in early 2013," Lee said. POW is also scouting for more strategic partnerships and alliances in India.
Without disclosing any names, POW President, Director and CEO Gill Champion said that discussions are continuing with many entities and the goal is to "find regional partners where we can collaborate on numerous co-productions".
Further, plans are on the anvil to bring the Stan Lee's Comikaze POW convention to India, hopefully in 2013. "POW is extremely interested in expanding the Stan Lee brand in India, specifically in the entertainment sector. India is a very big, important and powerful country.
"It is most natural to have a strong presence in that market in the 21st century and going forward," Champion said.
POW focuses on creating franchises for the entertainment industry including animation and live-action feature films, DVDs and video games.

Yep! Great stuff! All good for Pro and Arlovski no matter what!
Former UFC champs Andrei Arlovski, Jens Pulver added to Aug. 31 ONE FC card
by MMAjunkie.com Staff on Jul 16, 2012 at 9:10 pm ET
Andrei Arlovski and Jens Pulver will try to continue their recent resurgence when they fight for ONE FC next month.
Arlovski (17-9), a former UFC heavyweight champion, will fight Soa Palelei (17-3). Pulver (26-16-1), the first UFC lightweight champ, will take on Eric Kelly (7-0). Both Arlovski and Pulver confirmed their inclusion on Twitter.
"ONE FC: Pride of a Nation" is scheduled for Aug. 31 at Smart Araneta Coliseum in Manila, Phillipines.
Arlovski has won two straight with third-round knockouts under the ProElite banner. In August 2011, he stopped Ray Lopez in the headliner of ProElite's event in Honolulu. He followed that up with a head-kick knockout of Travis Fulton at the promotion's event in Moline, Ill.

Strikeforce: Rockhold vs. Kennedy Aftermath – Challengers Fall, Making Sounds
“And now there’s a tree in the woods involved? Geez, throw me some more curveballs, Dana!”
Judging by the activity in our liveblog’s comments section, there weren’t many of you who tuned in to last night’s Strikeforce: Rockhold vs. Kennedy. Judging by the “advertising” that went into this event, which included Frank Shamrock’s acting chops and a last second plug on the UFC’s Facebook page (to which one of the comments with the most “likes” asked who the guys were in the main event that looked more like accountants than fighters), Zuffa is perfectly okay with this. And from the two – yes, two – reporters who even bothered to show up to the pre-event press conference, we have to admit that the ghost ship that has become Strikeforce is partially all of our faults.
It’s a shame that Strikeforce is getting the Bamboo Lounge treatment, but after the entertaining main card that those of us who watched were treated to, at least the promotion is fading into obscurity with dignity.
Strikeforce Middleweight Champion Luke Rockhold earned a convincing unanimous decision over the formidable Tim Kennedy. He came forward with an aggressive striking attack throughout the fight, managing to stuff numerous takedown attempts as well. Granted, Kennedy never seemed like he was in danger of being knocked out or submitted, but that’s far more of a testament to how game Kennedy is than it is a criticism of Luke Rockhold.
For the twenty-seven year old, the Strikeforce championship has to feel far more like a curse than an achievement. He’s arguably a top-ten middleweight, but can’t book a fight against a big enough name to prove this. He’s defeated virtually everyone that Strikeforce can offer him, yet still has to stick around to be used as a measuring stick for guys like Roger Gracie and Lorenz Larkin (more on that later). In the post-event press conference, Rockhold called for a rematch with Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza, because hey, what else can he rally for? All of the top non-Zuffa middleweights are going to be offered UFC contracts without even discussing the possibility of sending them to Scott Coker. And frankly, when the UFC is in the position to offer a top non-Zuffa middleweight a laughably bad contract, that speaks volumes about the “future plans” for Strikeforce.

UPDATED: Ronda Rousey, Luke Rockhold, Other Strikeforce Fighters Reportedly Contractually Blocked From Moving To UFC
Brent Brookhouse on Jul 15, 2012 11:08
Dave Meltzer's latest podcast has a bit of shocking news that we'd not heard to this point when it comes to Strikeforce fighters. In the wake of last night's Strikeforce show that saw Luke Rockhold retain his Strikeforce middleweight title, Dave was discussing the idea of fighters in Strikeforce fighting the best in the UFC when he said the words "but that can't happen because of the deal with Showtime."
He went on to explain that this was the result of Showtime's paranoia over having Alistair Overeem, Nick Diaz and Dan Henderson lost to the UFC (all through slightly different circumstances):
"They made this list of guys and they said 'these are our guys' and, even if their contract expires, they can't move to UFC. That's part of their deal with keeping this alive. So these guys are stuck."
To be clear, the UFC signed this agreement.
Meltzer continued:
"He [Gilbert Melendez] couldn't go to UFC. He could go to Bellator if he wanted to, but he couldn't go to the UFC.
There's a list of guys, not everyone on Showtime is on the list, but Ronda Rousey is on the list, Gilbert Melendez is on the list, Luke Rockhold is on the list...
It's for as long as Showtime broadcasts MMA."
That doesn't mean as long as Showtime broadcasts Strikeforce, but rather as long as Showtime broadcasts any MMA from the way Meltzer explained it.
Note: I think it's important that we understand that this could be a misunderstanding, could be fact, could be somewhere in the middle. Meltzer has talked to people about it, it appears that if it is not the case, that some people think it is. Discuss it with that in mind.
Update 1:42 p.m. ET: Meltzer clarified the Rousey situation:
As long as Showtime and Zuffa have a contract to broadcast events, Rousey can only fight on a UFC show if Showtime allows her to do so. She's not banned, but Showtime has to make the decision. That's why I recommended Showtime should allow her to fight on the December UFC show.
From what I'm told "the list" does exist but Rousey might not be a member of that list to the same restrictive degree.
When asked if this means that if Showtime broadcasts MMA for 15 years, for the next 14, they can't go to the UFC?
"No, because they're Showtime fighters for life. Or they could leave the Zuffa organization."
And also, on the idea of if this could be challenged in court:
"They can't because it's a contract the UFC has, it's not a fighter deal. I've had the whole thing explained to me by one of the fighters on the list.
Zuffa isn't going to do it to be in breach of contract. The contract is between Zuffa and Showtime that this list of fighters are Showtime fighters and if they're in the Zuffa organization they will fight on Showtime."
This is a shocking development and means that the Strikeforce fighters are stuck on Showtime for the foreseeable future. Should Strikeforce be dissolved, Showtime could promote their own independent MMA shows or bring on any other promotion and keep Strikeforce's top stars locked out of the UFC and, presumably, on their airwaves.

I agree! You have to wonder how the Advertisers feel much less the Station. If I'm CBS and even way less ShowTime am I happy? Nope! Not at All! Fighters not happy Fighting on a 4rd tier Product( 2nd Tier = Fox, 3rd Tier = Fuel - 2nd Tier Fox Station ) that nobody cares about and not many have access to!
Dead Product with no future! Died the minute it was bought! I would be looking for alternatives!

Kennedy: 'Nobody gives a $#!%' about Strikeforce: Rockhold vs. Kennedy
by Steven Marrocco | source: mmajunkie.com
Looking at the stage for the Strikeforce: Rockhold vs. Kennedy pre-event press conference, it's your average press conference. Looking toward the audience, it feels like a forgotten event.
"I just came from Vegas, where they had 2,000 people at the weigh-in (it was actually closer to 8,000)," said Tyron Woodley, who fights Nate Marquardt for the vacant Strikeforce welterweight title, told MMAjunkie.com. "I think it's a disrespect to Strikeforce. It should be advertised a little bit more."
"Take a picture," Tim Kennedy said. "There's not a single goddamn reporter here. There's four of you guys. This is two title fights for Strikeforce. It's crystal clear that nobody gives a s---. They don't. I knock Rockhold out on Saturday night? Changes nothing for me. Nothing in, like, what media publications are going to cover me, who talks about me, sponsors I'm going to get. Do you know how much money I didn't make in sponsors for this fight because nobody cares about Strikeforce? It's insane.

It doesn't read that way it all and makes no such suggestion whatsoever. What it does indicate is that "ONE FC might be a perfect place to do it". What the Author is talking about is continued and more exposure for Arlovski to help keep and maintain momentum.
Very simply put OneFC is one of the biggest Promotions in the world is the very biggest Promotion in Asia bar none, as everyone knows!
The more Fights a Fighter can take and make good with the Biggest Promotions the more chance they to accelerate both growth and interest in some case where they might have had a "hit a dry spell" a chance to "rejuvenate his career" but also noted by the author of the article "he has done well for himself recently with new promotion ProElite".
And the comment made "and this does not indicate a partnership or cross promotion" well nobody said it did. My comments was merely the suggestion of "wondering" if there might that be and based on the fact Pro had worked with a previous largest Promotion in Asia it would make sense there also could be in this case.
And since you chose to ignore the my actual following comment it reads as follows "In either case it is great to see Arlovski still getting the attention of other Top Promotions and I would think he would have the blessing of ProElite at the very minimum and another big Win would look great on his Record for a Big Return back to ProElite when called for Upcoming Events." which is true.
In all likelihood he has the blessing of Pro and in reality it is highly unlikely the Contract with Arlovski is exclusive as largest number of MMA Promotion Contracts are not, much less it probably only really would apply to Fights on US or maybe North American soil.
This is all good for Arlovski and in my view even Pro no matter the case as this will keep Arlovski in front of large audiences only continuing to raise his market value especially if he were to maintain a Winning Streak at another big Event. If he looses he is still only one Fighter and no Promotion is built solely on one Fighter. The UFC continued to put a guy like Tito Ortiz out there to Headline or Co-Headline Events with a current record of with a record of 16 wins and 11 Losses with only 1 Win in his last 9 Fights/Events and then put him in the in the UFC Hall of fame with a record of record of losing 41% of his fights. Arlovski already has more Wins than Tito and less Losses, so all good in my view.
This very well could be great for Pro in either case, as this courtesy which I assume is in place, may also allow them to draw from the OneFC roster which is Full of great Fighters for future Pro Events, even if it not a formal Partnership or Co-Promotion which there is no requirement for, for this to happen, a return courtesy is definitely more likely happen on top of the again pure exposure for even Pro as noted mainstay for Arlovski for last while, much less again future Events.
Go Pro!
I'm wondering whether there might be some Partnering and/or Co-Promotion underway with OneFC & ProElite! In either case it is great to see Arlovski still getting the attention of other Top Promotions and I would think he would have the blessing of ProElite at the very minimum and another big Win would look great on his Record for a Big Return back to ProElite when called for Upcoming Events.
Hey, it seems like Andre Arlovski might be fighting at ONE FC: Pride of a Nation
July 13th, 2012
As you probably know by now, ONE Fighting Championship will be having it’s Pride of the Nation event in Manila on the 31st of August 2012. The event will be held at the Smart Araneta Stadium, which is the same stadium that housed the historic Thrilla in Manila fight between Mohammed Ali and Joe Fraser. ONE FC is expecting this to be their biggest event thus far with a sellout stadium that can hold up to 16,500 fans. To get things started, ONE FC will be holding a press conference for the event next week as the promotion has announced on its Facebook page:
“ONE Fighting Championship, Asia’s largest MMA organization, will be holding a Press Conference next week on July 18 in Manila to announce the fight card for ONE FC: Pride of a Nation. DREAM Champion Shinya Aoki, DREAM Champion Bibiano Fernandes, former UFC Champion Andrei Arlovski, URCC Champion Eduard Folayang, and many other MMA superstars will be in attendance at the Press Conference in Manila next week. Fans are welcome to get pictures and autographs at the Discovery Hotel from 11am onwards.”
In case you didn’t realize one of the names that was thrown out in that statement was former UFC Heavyweight Champion, Andre “The Pitbull” Arlovski. In case you’re new to this glorious sport we call MMA, Arlovski is one of the pioneers of it. He was the UFC Heavyweight Champion in 2005 and he’s faced the best in the business including Fedor Emelianenko, Tim Sylvia, Fabricio Werdum and everybody’s favorite fat boy Roy Nelson. Arlovski might have hit a dry spell from 2009 to the beginning of 2011, losing to top names such as Fedor Emelianenko, Antonio Silva and Sergei Kharitonov but he has done well for himself recently with new promotion ProElite where he has gone 2-0. The Pitbull has been looking to rejuvenate his career and ONE FC might be a perfect place to do it. While no details have been provided on his involvement with the promotion, we can only assume that him being at the press conference is an indication that he will fight for the promotion. That or he’s there just to look cool in a suit and show people his fanged mouth guard. We pick the former reasoning though.
While it’s still more than a month away from the event, rumors have been going around like crazy about who will appear on the card. Bloody Elbow has recent reported that their sources have informed them that not only will Arlovski be on the card, other possible names include veteran mixed martial artist Antonio McKee, Tiger Muay Thai’s former head honcho Ray Elbe, Evolve MMA’s Rodrigo Ribeiro and JENS FREAKING PULVER. We don’t know about you but we still think that Jens Pulver is Da Man. These are of course rumors and will remain rumors until officially announced by ONE FC but seriously, mad props to you Bloody Elbow guys! Awesome stuff. Add all these names to the ones that have already been announced like Aoki, Bibiano, Baroni, the Gracies and possibly, a number of URCC Champions and damn, you got yourself an event!
Even before the final card has even been announced, ONE FC’s Pride of a Nation is making some noise and looks like it’s going to set Manila on fire come the 31st of August. With so much going on, we’re pretty sure that this event is going to be epic. Keep your eye on this space for more updates on Pride of a Nation and it’s press conference which is scheduled for next week.
