It will be interesting to see what happens at Houston Methodist. Heavy users of Da Vinci are evaluating Senhance now.
RE BYD story. Not so good at design or engineering.

That's not the way I remembered it. Saturn was GM's effort to apply what was learned in the Nummi joint venture with Toyota (Fremont plant that Tesla took over). In particular Kaizen. Essentially a GM attempt to design and manufacture a Japanese car for the American market. How was that going to compete with Honda Accords and Toyota Camrys?
The EV-1 cult was purely about EV and they care nothing about brand. It had a devoted following despite the fact that garages were going up in flames.
He is just the messenger as Cohodes is the owner of those articles apparently. I don't know if Nuplazid will be a huge success, it works very well for some and it may not do any better than off label anti-depressants in some. But the big lie is that it is less safe than off label use of existing meds. My observation from visits to nursing and assisted living situations are that doctors don't have good choices and often times prescribe a cocktail of off label meds for these PD patients without proper monitoring of whether the meds are doing any good or making the patient worse. One case I am familiar with showed that off label meds just turned the patient into a zombie. Great, no hallucinations, no life either.
ACAD - Sold puts today. Those were OTM and will likely expire at week's end. I added in the last several days in the low 16s.
ACAD - Takes a dive upon release of short article funded by Marc Cohodes (funded via donation of OSTK stock). It is a convoluted market. I decided to short a few weekly puts.

Made up issue. If you trust airline mechanics to service jet planes in these structures, then they are certainly good enough for building cars.

Finally read that article. Deaths were significantly lowered in PD patients with psychosis when they took Nuplazid compared to those getting placebo. Although the death rate was still higher when compared to PD patients without psychosis.
Musk did say something like "we are a real car company now" so that could be interpreted as bearish on valuation. He would have been better off leaving "car" out of his email. Now the valuations of failing legacy car makers will be used by bears and their minions until some big legacy car makers go bankrupt. TSLA future is an integrated energy and transport service company with manufacturing components.
I will take a look some 10Ks time permitting which could be a while.
Interesting. Your view of how deepwater exploration/development vs shale/fracking impact on CLB is different than mine. I am interested in how you see deepwater projects impact CLB revenues relative to other stuff they do. We could segment that into special core and fluid analysis. I have just been away from the space so long that my optics could be completely outdated.
CLB - I haven't kept track of timing and activity level of international shale/frac projects other than hearing (SLB?) that ROW fracking will accelerate. Is it?
CNG buses work well in my area. Clean and fast. I also see KO test driving hybrid delivery trucks. They seem to move as well as passenger cars. Neither slow down traffic to any significant degree.
I was short OSTK via options while he was touting it. There is a role for block chain, just not sure how it fits with OSTK.
Politics and the poor quality of BYD's E Buses.

TRXC - Q2 prelims. Four systems sold, one in the USA. Not a big surprise given that 3 systems were sold 1 month into q2 (revealed during q1 CC). Only 2 systems sold in the USA, Florida and LSU, since clearance reflecting the dominant footprint of ISRG on the home turf.

From Sedar filing for offering, there are about 57 million warrants outstanding exercisable at a range of in the money prices and expiration dates. Is the 57 million correct? ie split adjusted?
In Trump's reality, ARMCO can just open the valves wider and production goes up. It will be interesting to see what actually happens. When oil prices went through the roof, they were going all out and it wasn't much higher than it is now and I am sure watercut has increased since. Simple mind, simple world.

FTSV/SURF/TRIL - Looks like the latter bottomed yesterday (may still be range bound). I shorted some puts and added a little more yesterday. Guessing valuations will have to converge until data is more complete. Seems FTSV current test is more like TRIL's 622. Yet seeing a lot of comparison to 621. Also seems probability of success has increased for the whole space in the last couple of years.
NVS/Alcon - What was the miscalculation or unforeseen factor IYO? Haven't followed other than NVS's heart failure drug.
Yes and thx.
TRXC - CFO sells more aggressively from his IRA account. CEO sells some via option exercise. This probably attracted more attention then BTIG downgrade to neutral. Both still have substantial exposure remaining. CEO has a lot more skin in the game relative to CFO.

FTSV/SURF/TRIL - If you were to go long CD47 play(s). How would you allocate your lottery dollar?
Used EV batteries still have 50-70% capacity and gets second life in energy storage. For now, Tesla differs and thinks it will be better to scavenge materials from their batteries. It comes down to economics of latest battery chemistry/design vs economics of storage at the time an EV battery is retired.

TRXC - some sanity returns as bubble pops. Coincides with BTIG downgrade to neutral. IDK how much of a retracement will happen but substantial IMO. Low at the start this move was 1.27 back on 2/9/18.
Thx. closer to 8X as avg purchase price was 0.713. Not counting for the CC's that have expired in the months in between clearance and now. Didn't keep exact figures but probably less than 0.20 cost basis adjusted for expired CCs.
Scroll back through prior posts. Some sales as one would expect given price action.
TRXC - Keeps going and going. People could have as much as they wanted at a lot lower prices. Now that it is in a bubble state, many are getting infected with FOMO. Just sold in an IRA account the remainder that was not hedged with CCs. About 1/6th of shares bought prior to FDA clearance.
AKAO - FDA needs to decide what to do when doctors try to save lives instead of following some trial protocol. Not AKAO's problem nor others that want their molecules tried in those dire circumstances. I suppose AKAO and others can be nasty and say to the doctors, do not use it even as a last resort for BSI as the FDA didn't clear it. Let it be.
PS. call option pricing seems odd given share price action, as if option players don't believe in the price drop.
TRXC - showing impressive strength post Russell rebalance at Friday's close (traded 5X average volume much of it at close). I expected it to back off hard. It did for an hour or so. Systems sales must be exceptional. Expectations at beginning of the year was 16 systems for 2018. I rolled my 4 and 4.5 calls.
Expanding the male market for botox and other injections.

I think some of the Tesla shorts could use a 12 step program if one exist. If not, they should find each other and start one.
The differential between WTI and Odessa postings remain at ~$3.5/bbl since March. We should see a gradual increase in differential if PXD CEO is right about limited intake capacity. If the delta gets big enough, then capacity will be added, not before.
RETA - I got a little more aggressive with options yesterday upon new highs. Now have a small position shorting via options.
TRXC -CFO sells ~290K shares @ $4 mostly via option exercise. About 10% of his total exposure (includes non vested options) prior to exercise.

Regarding Exxon capital spending plans. IMO the title makes it sound like a gamble rather than a catching up. Catching up after mistakes like XTO, Kashagan, and being unlucky wrt Russia events. Also not sure about the analogy of kerosene in lamps vs renewables in transport given the energy intensity.

Speaking of batteries. Understand from close friend that he can no longer wait for tsla model 3 as existing Mercedes needs replacement. He offered sister to take over her reservation since her sister recently placed an order and her order number was in excess of 1e6. There have been many cancellations because as some just can't wait. My friend's reservation number was just above 200k. I have no idea what the actual number accounting for cancellations.
thx. Link for those without Barron's subscription.

The roadmap for 3mm instruments was revealed last year q2 CC before Senhance was cleared and reiterated during q4 post clearance so nothing really new. Submission for articulated instruments (5mm) will also be coming later in the year. Seems that sales pitch to potential centers would have understanding of the instrument roadmap and timing.
TRXC - COO sells 1/3 + of holdings @3.67 average.
