Hi Barney, if you are seeing that + symbol over the chart while you are annotating - yes, that is normal.
If that is where you are seeing it, then you will have some other great things to experience with the annotating window.
Across the top of that window are small symbols in boxes. Try clicking on the far right box (looks like a tiny three color screen), and then move your cursor around. If you keep clicking that symbol you will move through a few options and back to the default cursor.

Everything seems to be working fine now, including Auto-refresh.
Cush
I may be having a problem with Auto-refresh, or it may be my system or my ISP. Won't know until I return later today.
Have a good one, everyone.

Hi tdium, Still working ok, for me.
Cush
Charts functional again, for me.
Charts not opening for me.
Stockcharts (site and charts) loading normally, quite fast, this morning, for me.
Cush
Hi No 3, Stockcharts seems slow to me, too. The Members page was slow opening and the charts are opening, but taking a few seconds longer than usual. However, I have been having problems with my ISP, so if you are a Sympatico user our problem may be closer to home.

Hi tdium, Everything seems to be working normally for me. My annotated charts open as usual. I annotated a chart just a few minutes ago to see if that worked, and it worked normally, too.
Cush
Must have been temporary. Things are working fine for me, at this time. You still having a problem?
Cush
Hi secwin. I wasn't online earlier. Markets are so calm, I was out hitting golf balls. Just looked at some charts and annotated a couple. Site seems about normal to me, but it is half an hour after the close.
Cush
Hi blacktruck, I had a look at your last post on the Jerry Olson thread (post 4870). Chart opens and looks fine to me. Did you solve your problem? Or did you mean something else?
Cush
Myself - that type of question is best addressed with a message to Support at the StockCharts.com site, but with the current situation they may be a little busy.

This is frustrating for all of us, and no doubt for StockCharts.com, too.
The following update has been posted on their site.
If you have problems opening the link below, look under the "What's New" section of the Members page.

ade, the charts in my Static Snapshots do not open this morning either,
but I have no idea when they stopped opening because it has been years since I have opened that portfolio.

Hi Annie, how is this for a long over-due post.
Posting charts.
I took a look at some of your recent posts and it looks like you are having no problem posting charts. You are probably way more proficient at it than I am.
If you are still having any problems, please post again.

The following has now been posted in the Member's Section at StockCharts.com:
Wednesday 18-April: 5:00pm EST - NETWORK PROBLEMS FIXED - A change we made yesterday around 2pm appears to have fixed the recent network problems we were experiencing. We have completed a battery of tests successfully and have not received any performance complaints from users in the past 24 hours. At this point, things appear to be working well.
Again, we apologize for the problems that occurred during the past 5 days. We have added an additional two weeks of free service to all of our members' accounts as a result. Thank you for continuing to support StockCharts.com. - The StockCharts.com Technical Team
As posted on the StockCharts.com web site under the Members section.
Wednesday 18-April: 11:30am EST - NETWORK RETURNING TO NORMAL - A change we made yesterday around 2pm appears to have fixed the recent network problems we were experiencing. We cannot be certain however until more testing has been completed. At this point, things appear to be working well and so we'd like to hear from anyone that is still having unusual or significant delays in getting charts off of our website.
Later today we will make an announcement about how we will compensate subscribers for the outages. Please check back here later for that information. Obviously, we are sorry for any problems this caused and are looking hard at ways to prevent similar situations in the future. - The StockCharts.com Technical Team
The following message has been posted in the Members section at the Stockcharts.com site.
Tuesday 17-April: 2:30pm EST - NETWORK PROBLEMS CONTINUE: We continue to work with our ISPs and hardware vendors to resolve the network issues we have been experiencing. The issue has been traced to one of our two primary ISPs but, unfortunately, so far the ISP has not found any problems with their equipment (of course!). At this point, we do not know how long it will take to get the problem fixed.
During this time, we have shifted as much traffic as we can to our remaining "good" ISP. Unfortunately, that ISP is unable to handle all of the requests that our site gets. That means that during periods of heavy volume, some users (it's random) will experience extreme slowness while other users will be fine. If you are experiencing extreme slowness, try opening a Command Prompt and entering "IPCONFIG /FLUSHDNS", then restart your computer. If that doesn't help, you will need to wait for a time when our site is less busy.
Once we are sure our website is performing correctly, we will make an announcement about how we will compensate subscribers for the outages. Please check back here for additional updates. Thanks for your continued patience. - The StockCharts.com Technical Team
Hi US. Just wanted to be sure. I had to open the forum info to see what you were referring to. In my case, I have hidden the Forum Info for the various forums I watch.
I will look at adding $SPX, but if I was going to add one more index, I would probably opt for $TSE. When I followed it, the $GOLD data didn't update until late each evening. Looks like it is still that way.
Let me see what I can do. Those sample charts were added by Chip when he first created this iHub forum.

Hi IHSC, are you able to access the site, but then can't open charts?
Wow, I am still logged in, still looking at charts, and they are still popping up immediately. I don't know enough about the internet to know why that should be.
I just opened another window and logged in again.
I would be frustrated too if I couldn't get in.
Hope whatever is happening is resolved soon.
Cush
Still?
Hi USDollar, are you referring to the charts used as an example in the Forum Board Info?
Cush
Hi Guys, I have been out all day, so I can't speak about earlier, but at the moment my charts are opening lightning fast.
Cush
Slow for me, too. This posted on site.
15-Apr: We are continuing to experience network problems that is causing our site to perform more slowly than usual. We are continuing to work on the problem with our network vendors and expect to have things back to normal as soon as possible.
Ya, back up for me, too.
Unable to load the StockCharts site.

Hi Windsurf3, as Quasi says an Extra member can save more than 10 scans. I don't know how many, but I have quite a few in excess of ten.
Best notify Support.

Hi Windsurf3, here is a link to the comparison of Basic vs Extra.

Hi Dr. Worm. I don't usually try to explain StockCharts policies because I don't work for StockCharts, but as a Subscriber here's why I think there is such a rule.
Ihub forums are followed by hundreds of people. I imagine some of the forums are probably followed by thousands. Every time someone opens a post with charts, that creates activity on the StockCharts servers. More charts = more band width and server activity. An open ended policy might result in overburdened servers at times. If someone created a post with 10 charts and 1000 Ihub members open the post soon after it appears. Then 10,000 charts are produced.
As a Subscriber, the policy makes sense to me.
There may be a post early on this forum where the policy was explained. If you find it, let us all know.

I am working some charts right now. Everything seems to be loading ok on my system. Annotations working, as well.
Cush
Take note. 8-Mar: As part of our on-going server room upgrade project, we will be off-line this Saturday starting around 10AM Eastern time. We expect to be back on-line around 3pm Eastern time but that depends on how quickly the electricians complete their work. Please plan accordingly.
Noticed the above posted in the Members section at StockCharts.

Hi Dimension, you posted that query this morning, so this is kind of late - everything seems copacetic to me. The site loads as usual.
Cush
Alan, you are posting here at iHub. Is the problem you are describing here at the iHub site, with boards here? If so, give us a few links to iHub forums where you are seeing the problem.
Cush
frankie, I have never timed it, but in the past requests for symbols to be added seemed to happen almost as soon as they had the request.
Have you asked Support to add a symbol?
Cush
Hi december, you are welcome to revitalize this board if you want to, but it is a board to discuss Technical Analysis. If you have some sort of Technical Analysis to support that claim, please do.
This is not a board to pump a stock for whatever reason.

Bruce, sorry to hear about your loss. You are a good man, and you have helped many of us here. My condolences.
Cush
I will leave this and similar posts up because I know everyone needs to vent their frustrations a little - but posts like this reflect more on the character of the poster than on the character of the people who created and run a charting service that many of us value.
If anyone notices the site back on line, please post.
Cush
Sorry secwin. I am in the same boat with everyone else.
Site is down. Cannot connect.
When anyone is able to connect - please post here.
