I guess the other avenue they have are self insured corps who have in house medical and wellness programs. The depth of this remains to be seen.
You may have seen an earlier post about the list of top EHR vendors in the country, most of them have their own patient portal that would be similar to MMRF (and more robust because of the ability to schedule appointments and pay bills) but that being said, there are hundreds of smmaller EHR and Practice management systems that MMRf would be a great add on to, and because "Meaningful use" requirements dictate that patients have some level of access to their data MMRF can easily fill that niche.
The issue is where does the revenue come from?
In MMRFs case, for the top 10-20 EMRs that already have a patient portal the revenue would come from patent licensing and perhaps MMRF becoming a patient record aggregator (get all my records in one place kind of service) and on the other end of the spectrum, MMRF would be the "bolt on" patient portal for products (low end EMRs and Practice management systems) that want to meet meaningful use (get an incentive payment) and not have to create it themselves.
So what BL needs are some sales folks beating the pavement making these deals as well as twisting arms on the patent side, because the clock is ticking on Meaningful use and if he doesn't sign some deals in the next 90-180 days it may be too late for people to get incentive payments from the Government. (this is all my opinion)
Happy to be here with you,
I have 23 years of Healthcare IT experience and first heard about MMRF on HISTALK.
In the last 5 years I have been a subject matter expert on HL7, Patient portals and System integration.
Yes i have been watching (and owning) MMRF since the first mention in HISTALK.com where we IT healthcare types learn the real scoops in our industry.
I am cautiously optimistic about MMRF and don't believe for a minute they are a patent troll. Recent announcements seem to indicate that they are continuing to make their product more robust so we shall see.
So you are saying that MMR will have the ability, for example when a patient logs in, to send a trigger via HL7 to the EMR/EHR that will cause the EMR/EHR to send an updated CCD to MMR for it to present to the patient? If that is what you are saying, then yes I agree that is a reasonable (and technically "do-able") workflow and a valuable function for MMR.
Glad we are on the same page now!
No - Inaccurate
How about this:
After April 15th, after the joint venture with 4Medica is supposed to be deployed that allows MMR to STORE CCDs.
CCDs are created by EHRs/EMRs and stored in data repositories. MMR is a data repository.
Please can we end this now?
We could go back and forth on this all day, and I really don't have time to provide work flow lessons, HL7 discussions and CCD definitions.
What I can tell you is the wording in the PR is not accurate.
In easiest to understand terms, when MMR is integrated with a certified EHR, the EHR feeds MMR with data that is accessible by the customer/patient.
MMR does not feed the EHR, does not create a CCD, and maybe while it could because it may have discrete data from the EHR, why would you want it to when the data in the EHR is more up to date.
A CCD becomes "stale" 1 minute after its stored.
I won't reply to any further discussions on this.
From the MMR FAQ:
MyMedicalRecords.com requires that all communications in to the website be via facsimile or file upload only. Users and their designees can fax in their documents over plain old telephone service (POTS) without the risks of transmitting data over the Internet. Users must log in to the Company's password-secured site to upload documents, which are stored and accessed in an encrypted format. Unlike most web sites, MMR does not allow users to transfer documents in and out of the account over public Internet channels, such as via e-mail.
##END##
While I assume the data sent in via file upload is keep in native format, they obviously do not have the technology in place to take a random Word document, parse it and make it into discrete data that could feed a CCD (if they had that technology they would be a $50 a share company trust me) so overall I feel VERY confident in making the statement that all data in MMR is non-discrete data therefore it could not feed anything via HL7 other than links to the documents
That is all well and good, but if you are familiar with how MMR works, most of the data stored in MMR right now is BLOB data (Binary large Objects) ie. FAXES!
Faxes cannot feed a CCD because it is non discrete data so data moving FROM MMR to an EMR is not likely.
You have to understand the workflow.
When a company sets up MMR as their Patient portal they can then FEED MMR with discrete data via an HL7 feed. CCDs in almost all cases are produced by the Certified EHR and not by a data repository like MMR.
I am not knocking MMR, I own PLENTY of shares, but in this area I am a certified HL7 Interface programmer and the Health Information Exchange Director for a 4 hospital system so I consider myself a subject matter expert in this regard.
Exactly correct!!
Best case MMR would be the recipient of a CCD, not the creator.
An HL7 interface does not allow you to create a CCD, it allows you to move a CCD.
Saying HL7 allows you to create a CCD is like saying calling Spain allows you to speak Spanish.
"After opening at $0.03, the stock hit as high as $0.03"
All right its getting old now.
We heard you the first 5 times,
Let's turn the pump off shall we?
Re your private reply:
I own xxx,xxx shares and I don't know what an SCC is.
Please enlighten.

Perhaps Monday?
MMRGlobal Now Offers Patients the Choice to Update EMRs With Their PHR
LOS ANGELES, CA -- (MARKETWIRE) -- 03/25/13 -- MMRGlobal, Inc. (OTCQB: MMRF) ("MMR"), a leading provider of Personal Health Records ("PHRs"), MyEsafeDepositBox storage solutions and electronic document management and imaging systems for healthcare professionals, today announced the launch of seamless connectivity between the MyMedicalRecords Personal Health Record and Electronic Medical Record ("EMR") systems in medical clinics starting April 15, 2013. The new features facilitate connectivity with any EMR or EHR system and also laboratory reporting systems. Using an HL7 interface, MMR will be able to populate data, such as a Continuity of Care Document ("CCD"), directly to the patient as well as lab test results, medication lists and other discrete data which will be directly deposited into the MyMedicalRecords PHR. At the option of the patient, the system will also be able to push PDFs and other personally managed health information from the patient's confidentially maintained files directly into an EMR or EHR. The April 15th deployment is part of a joint development effort with a 4medica client using 4medica's Certified for Meaningful Use Integrated Electronic Health Record (4medica iEHR®); however, the system will be available to any EMR system.
For those of you not in the Medical field, HL7 is the standard protocol/language (real time) used for medical systems to communicate, so this is a big plus for MMRF and makes it "speak the language" of all medical systems
I'd be surprised if it closed unchanged today
These are the type of posts I come here to read.
Reasonable and balanced and FACTUAL
Good for you! Because you just got it back!!
Rock on!
Well ya just lost $13770.43
Sorry!
36 minutes until the bottom drops out. Put in those 0.022 orders now
"I just landed in Philadelphia after last night’s redeye. In my Lifespring days I learned that when you resist giving......"
LIFESPRING? Really? That crap almost killed my wife!!!
There it is!!! BLAM!!
Yes we knew the bottom would drop out as it always does with 10 minutes to go.
And what is the impact of $10m shared revenue when you have
472,000,000 shares outstanding?

Not in a position to discuss litigation in detail but remain optimistic.Headed 2 Harrisburg Tuesday 4 meetings at Pinnacle Health & Verizon
Now there is someone who knows the deal.
These pie in the sky dreams from MMRF can only happen with some serious revenue, some deals that exceed the ones announced by a factor of 10, and MMRF not paying their vendors and such with STOCK!
They are currently keeping the hounds at bay with promises of higher stock prices.
When the dumping of 300k shares can kick the stock price down 7.5% what do you expect?
End of year (2012) come out end of March.
Price on April 1st will be 0.015 (or less)
You heard it here first
The proof will not be the year end numbers but the first qtr 2013 numbers.
Expect 0.015 on April 1st
