That is all well and good, but if you are familiar with how MMR works, most of the data stored in MMR right now is BLOB data (Binary large Objects) ie. FAXES!

Faxes cannot feed a CCD because it is non discrete data so data moving FROM MMR to an EMR is not likely.

You have to understand the workflow.

When a company sets up MMR as their Patient portal they can then FEED MMR with discrete data via an HL7 feed. CCDs in almost all cases are produced by the Certified EHR and not by a data repository like MMR.

I am not knocking MMR, I own PLENTY of shares, but in this area I am a certified HL7 Interface programmer and the Health Information Exchange Director for a 4 hospital system so I consider myself a subject matter expert in this regard.
