You may have seen an earlier post about the list of top EHR vendors in the country, most of them have their own patient portal that would be similar to MMRF (and more robust because of the ability to schedule appointments and pay bills) but that being said, there are hundreds of smmaller EHR and Practice management systems that MMRf would be a great add on to, and because "Meaningful use" requirements dictate that patients have some level of access to their data MMRF can easily fill that niche.

The issue is where does the revenue come from?

In MMRFs case, for the top 10-20 EMRs that already have a patient portal the revenue would come from patent licensing and perhaps MMRF becoming a patient record aggregator (get all my records in one place kind of service) and on the other end of the spectrum, MMRF would be the "bolt on" patient portal for products (low end EMRs and Practice management systems) that want to meet meaningful use (get an incentive payment) and not have to create it themselves.

So what BL needs are some sales folks beating the pavement making these deals as well as twisting arms on the patent side, because the clock is ticking on Meaningful use and if he doesn't sign some deals in the next 90-180 days it may be too late for people to get incentive payments from the Government. (this is all my opinion)
