Ford, Chrysler set to post big sales decline
Honda the only automaker expected to report year-over-year improvement
By Shawn Langlois, MarketWatch
Last Update: 2:01 PM ET Sep 28, 2007
SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Ford Motor Co. and Chrysler are expected to post double-digit declines in September U.S. sales next week,...
But analysts blame lofty gasoline prices and the persistent housing crunch for what's shaping up to be yet another decline....
But not even the Japanese juggernaut is immune to the daunting economic challenges.
Jesse Toprak, an analyst for car-buying research Web site Edmunds.com, said he expects Toyota to hand in a 4.2% drop, its third straight month of year-over-year declines...
Ford's expected 17.7% hit, however, is indicative of more than just broader industry troubles...
Still, GM's spruced-up menu of new cars and trucks won't keep the company from posting a 3.1% dip, said Toprak, who also forecast the now-private Chrysler to hand in a 10.3% slide.....
Honda Motor Co. (HMC) is the only automaker pegged to post gains, up 11.8%.....

CMP's Semiconductor Insights Recognizes Micron's 78nm 1Gb DDR3 as Most Innovative DRAM
Wednesday September 26, 8:05 am ET
2007 INSIGHT Awards Program Acknowledges Feats in Technology
SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- CMP's Semiconductor Insights (SI), the leader in technical and patent analyses of integrated circuits and electronic systems, today announced that it has awarded Micron's 78nm 1Gb DDR3 the 2007 INSIGHT Award for Most Innovative DRAM. The INSIGHT Awards program, produced in conjunction with Semico and EE Times, recognizes corporate and individual achievements in technology.
The INSIGHT Awards honor innovations in eight categories including DRAM, Non-Volatile Memory, RF IC, Baseband and/or Applications Processor, Process Technology, Display Driver and the Dr. Doug Smeaton Innovation Award. SI nominates a majority of the devices, but also considers vendor-submitted nominations. The awards are selected by Semico president Jim Feldham and EE Times Executive Editor, Patrick Mannion, and they are chaired by Chief Technology Officer, Edward Keyes.
"Micron's first production foray into the emerging DDR3 market pushes advanced process lithography," stated Young Choi, SI's Technology Manager - Memory. "This is also the only 6F2 DDR3 design that we have analyzed, giving Micron an impressive die size."
The 6F2 cell implementation reduces the Micron die's chip size by 24 percent compared with the competing DDR3 solution from Samsung, which implements and 8F2 design. The technology offers many advantages over 8F2 layout implemented by competitors. The 6F2 cell size reduces array area and thus reduces manufacturing costs. This is extremely important in the emerging DDR3 market, where uptake will take place when price parity with DDR2 solutions is met. Despite the advantages of 6F2 technology there are several design challenges, including array architecture, wordline coupling, and sense amplifier layout that has prevented many from pursuing the technology.
"We are pleased that our innovations in developing next-generation DRAM have been recognized by Semiconductor Insights' 2007 INSIGHT Award program," said John Schreck, Micron vice president of DRAM Development. "We have achieved great technical strides with our 1Gb DDR3 DRAM including its increased speeds, low power and small die size. All enabled by our mass production 78nm 6F2 process and other design innovations."
Recent SI analysis of competing DDR3 devices positions Micron favorably in the market. "By using a 78nm process and 6F2 technology, Micron achieves the smallest cell size of any DRAM device analyzed to date at only 0.0365(micron)m2," added Choi. "The Metal-Insulator-Metal (MIM) capacitor cell design and recessed-channel access transistor provide small wordline and bitline pitch measurements of 156nm each."

Stepping out here to see what effect analyst's downgrade has.
Can't see a downgrade coming from yesterday's ThinkEquity presentation with CEO/pres. Ali Janab, which maybe means LNUX can still run.
But the Tuesday's presentation given by CFO Patty Morris at Merriman Curhan Ford Investor Summit just wasn't delivered as well.
If that's the cause of Matrix's downgrade, it may have little effect at all, imo.
SourceForge Cut to `Sell' at Matrix :LNUX US
By Sybil Chahbandour
Princeton, New Jersey, Sept. 20 (Bloomberg Data) -- SourceForge Inc. (LNUX US) was downgraded to ``sell'' from ``hold'' by analyst Daniel Scalzi at Matrix USA.

It seems the trade restiction on LNUX has been lifted at Etrade also.
I just tested it a few minutes ago through my account.
"and I" was supposed to read,"an eye". em
Just finished listening to LNUX'S presentation given buy CEO/pres. Ali Jenab @ ThinkEquity's G5 Growth Conference.
Noting that ThinkEquity is also one of LNUX's analysts...........
http://ir.corp.sourceforge.com/phoenix.zhtml?c=82629&p=irol-analysts
and that they had lowered their 'Price Targe' from $8 to $3.50 on August 29th........

http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=conewsstory&refer=conews&tkr=LNUX:US&sid=aQMpBI6v...
....I thinks it's possibly that ThinkEquity will revise the rating and price target upward perhaps within a short period
with the issue of LNUX's expected net income for Q4 laid out clearly and on track.
Today's audio of the presentation is available here at this link:
http://ir.corp.sourceforge.com/phoenix.zhtml?c=82629&p=irol-calendar
Thanks, Flat. I hope so.
I'm keeping and I on Etrade to see if they will do the same.
Still got the restriction in place at the moment though.
LNUX starting to move! em
The pps is where it's at now, because the company previously announced it expected its Q4 net income was less than what analysts had projected, as far as I can tell.
Then the company oversold below analysts' new price targets, which were set following the company's expected earnings announcement in late August.
As far as I can tell the OS has increased only from 63.59 mil
to 67.88 mil.
You can call the TA directly, if you want to confirm that and also get the current A/S.
If you do, post the info here, if you wouldn't mind.

Subject: LNUX Not Being Allowed to Trade Online with Etrade
Dear Mr. Jenab,
I wanted to inform you that Etrade brokerage has not been allowing LNUX to trade online.
They refuse to clarify the reasoning for their action, although they allow much smaller, non-reporting (pinksheet) companies to trade freely through Etrades online platform.
Given their sheer size in Etrade's securities accounts throughout the U.S. and internationally, this is undoubtedly is inhibiting the trading and liquidity of LNUX and contributes to an undesirable image among an unknown number of potential investors.
The below link is to my correspondence with Etrade regarding this matter:
http://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/read_msg.asp?message_id=22896428
If there is anything you could do to correct this matter, it may be beneficial for LNUX.
Sincerely,

Dear Sir/Madam:
1.) Please explain clearly why the trading desk is inhibiting the trading and liquidiy of LNUX by forcing Etrade cusotmers to place orders over the phone.
The answer in the last email is unequivocal nonsense given the fact that ETrade allows online trading for unreporting pink sheet companies.
Clarify.
2.) Also the below question still wasn't answered.
>From what date were trades for for LNUX online prohibited?<
Please answer it.

SourceForge F4Q07 (Qtr End 7/31/07) Earnings Call Transcript
Regarding Summer Seasonality Impact:
Neal Doshi – ThinkEquity
The first question I have, going back to the media side and expanding on what Denny asked, is this an industry-wide phenomenon that we are seeing in terms of slowdown in technology advertising? I know CNet announced that they had noticed a slowdown on PC advertising as well.
Ali Jenab (Chief Exec. Officer, Pres)
.... I can tell you the last two weeks we have seen a dramatic shift back to the higher activity level.
Joe Maxa - Dougherty & Co.
You indicated the activity level has picked up drastically in the last couple of weeks. How does your pipeline look for the rest of the quarter at this point? Suggesting that you have higher levels would suggest maybe your media should be a little higher than what you guided to.
Ali Jenab
All I can tell you is last quarter we had a huge book of done business when we walked in the quarter, and then we didn't close well going into the end of the quarter. This quarter is exactly opposite of that.
Douglas Whitman - Whitman Capital
You are very conservative guy. It sounds like things are going in the direction that you hope they would be.
Ali Jenab
Yes, right now it is going in the direction that we hoped...

Nokia: German Court Orders Stay Of Infringement Proceedings
Dow Jones Newswires - September 11, 2007 11:15 AM ET
STOCKHOLM (Dow Jones)--Nokia (NOK) said Tuesday that following a request from Qualcomm (QCOM), a German Court has ordered a stay of the infringement proceedings brought against the company by Qualcomm.
A hearing was scheduled to start Tuesday after Qualcomm filed litigation a year ago alleging infringement by Nokia of two GSM/GPRS patents.
"Nokia remains confident in its defense and continues to be ready to prove that the alleged patents are invalid and not infringed," Nokia spokeswoman Anne Eckert said in a statement.
The hearing, due to be heard in the district court of Dusseldorf, Germany, has now been delayed until further notice.
Global system for mobile communications, or GSM, is the most popular standard for mobile phones in the world while general packet radio service, or GPRS, is a mobile data service available to users of GSM.
