Don’t blame him for trying to stay cool. I grew up in the desert (Phoenix). Good thing we had a swimming pool as a kid. Otherwise we would have gone nuts.
So, I take it your young friend isn’t married and has children?
My nephew was a ray of light. He left behind a wife and two young daughters.
It’s never easy. I’ve lost several friends to cancer. It doesn’t get any easier.
Captain thanks for the update. Holding steady…
DAR; does your friend have family?
Zip; I don’t disagree with you. I don’t have an answer. Drugs like Vascepa may help, but it’s more of a preventative supplement.
I recall years ago of a teenage boy involved in a terrible accident. His brain was severely injured. The doctors gave him zero chance of recovery. They left it up to his parents. His mother didn’t give up.
She found a doctor who apparently had success with brain injuries and using EPA. So, he took her son under his care and administered massive doses of EPA.
Sure, brain damage is serious, unlike cancer, we’re talking trauma versus runaway cells. Similarities between the two is inflammation of tissues and cells.
I’m no doctor, so I’m going on personal experiences. EPA has been great for me, in subtle ways. No arthritis, higher energy levels, good bloodwork. Although I need to take the doctors advice and do some lifestyle changes.
That young man is in “Gods Hands.” So, pray for him and his family is all anyone can do. And be thankful it’s not “me.” Yet…
Pray that the cancer takes him quickly. Once it’s in your Lymph system forget about it. Vascepa surely isn’t going to do anything to relieve the pain.
The doctors pumped my nephew full of drugs too and nothing helped. His condition didn’t improve at all.
Unfortunately, our society hasn’t quite caught on to the fact that people should exit this life peacefully.
Instead we try and prolong the suffering with the hope that our loved ones will recover. People need to have a choice on how they exit this life and into the next.
Ahhh, I see the Bobsy Twins are at it again.
Let’s all play “Fear and Deception” anyone?
Nice detective work TalShu…thumbs up!!
Hi Joe, How's it going. Kinda miss the days when Amarin was riding high and we were eating dinner in San Francisco.
How's Colorado treating you?
Worked, thanks Jasbg. You know, there's got to be a lot of Viking blood in the Irish/Scottish. Those multiple sets of strong genes have a lot to do with their spirit, which you can see in their music.
Oops, Bruce Guthro is Canadian, sorry about that. Still the "voice" comes through.
Jasbg; Missing Link and its not Sasquatch?
Captain; article was written in 2021. I couldn’t read the whole article, you have to be a member. As for helping or hindering Vascepa’s cause. I think because Vascepa is cheaper and easier to administer, helps Vascepa’s chances for acceptance.
These drug companies have plenty of money and resources to make Vascepa a household name. I’m just wondering why nobody has made a real play to purchase Amarin. Maybe they have behind closed doors?
Thanks for all you do for this board.
Mr Stockboy; Rose is correct Lovaza reduces Trigs more than Vascepa does. The Big difference between Lovaza and Vascepa is that Vascepa lowers LDL, whereas Lovaza does not. Vascepa has also been proven to reduce CVD events and other markers. Lovaza has not been proven to reduce CVD events. Lovaza is really just DHA, which has been known to reduce Trigs. It's beyond me why the medical community still prescribes Lovaza.
Go ahead and Google the difference between DHA and EPA
Monk; appreciate your post and sentiments. Alex Denner knows what he owns. Vascepa is a remarkable drug that will have it's day in the sun.
Only a matter of time. Although the Patent clock is ticking.
Sorry Denisk, I don't know the answer. Go to Laurent's Post 414172. Patent was filed in Europe. Maybe to be filed in the USA (at a later date?). Maybe we should run it by Judge Du first get her buy-in that Amarin has a European Patent and Amarin will be applying for a US Patent TBD. And that there's no cropped tables.
Sorry...bad joke.
Lecithin, "It's what's for Dinner." And by far the biggest benefit from more lecithin in our diets.. Drum roll please... It improves sex.
https://vitaliboost.com/ingredients/lecithin/?utm_source=google&utm_campaign=19651944937&utm_medium=ad&utm_content=665491703987&utm_term=&gclid=CjwKCAjwivemBhBhEiwAJxNWN-NFQUdCPUiNwDnuOmLUY99ntp4E-sop9FRNr07vdkksge08cmp63RoC9MoQAvD_BwE
Seriously folks; Lecithin makes semen taste better,. Sperm quality improves. WHAT! 👍️ my wife will be pleased.
I knew it, my mother was always right. She always had a bottle of Castor Oil around. She kept it around for all of our cuts and bruises. She may have been dipping into the oil for constipation? Castor Bean Bushes grew wild across the alley from where I lived. We were always warned Castor Beans were poisonous. Obviously not to the extent that it would kill us.
https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/castor-oil
I'm guessing in small enough quantities, Castor oil used properly and combined with another oil like EPA it wouldn't be harmful. Unlike statins, who knows what's in that stuff (especially Generics).
Whoa... I didn't know that Lecithin is used to treat Dementia & Alzheimers? https://www.urmc.rochester.edu/encyclopedia/content.aspx?contenttypeid=19&contentid=lecithin#:~:text=Lecithin%20is%20used%20to%20treat,not%20well%20defined%20and%20confirmed.
Good find, thanks Laurent
Thanks captain; Hmmm...? How does the self-emulsified version know to target the Lymphatic system vs Circulatory system? It's out of my paygrade, but if true this could be the break Amarin needs to attract a buyer. And since Amarin Developed the "art" do they need to share it with Mochida?
The Big question is; Will this put the Generics out of business (so to speak)?
Be careful jasbg; Your probably going to get some “know it all” attitude albeit Narcissism from the resident curmudgeon.
No problemo; I had to use my fingers and toes.😀
Don't blame anyone for buying at these levels. 13.57 AM? WTF time zone? If it's military time then it would be 1:57 AM? Could it have been 11:57 AM? Thanks
Pass the Bong. "Institutionalized" too funny ramfan.
Yeah, just think all the things KM didn't set up for Germany got put back into the company's cash coffers? Or did it end up in someone's bank account?
Hmmm...8.6 million shares traded, Average trading volume 2.4 million, that's roughly 6.2 million above average. We're back above $1, I wonder who bought in today? Class, Anyone?
Jesus, stop the incessant whining. There’s no way that Amarin share price (value) is only worth a buck and change. Sadly it is worth a lot more.
The company makes a profit. It has 60k plus in weekly scripts.
So, stop the whining and take a break. “A watched pot never boils.”
Thanks ziplock; FDA fast tracks Big Pharma without needing an upfront clinical trial. That's okay Mr. Bourla, you can write the check to: Robert M. Califf. My son is starting college next week. He wants to go to Harvard law School.
Bears don’t have litter boxes. They dodo wherever they want.
Another cat piss in your litter box?
Rose; It makes you wonder why KM & companions didn’t capitalize on the opportunities presented? Now we’ll see if the new regime does anything about it?
Zip; understood thanks. But, At the time it seemed like the FDA treated the JELIS results with distain. That’s what I took away. Controlled study or not, the results were proven by Reduce-It.
But wait… according to the FDA Asians are different from Melting Pot Americans.
My proof is they (FDA) disqualifying the results of the JELIS study. It was like they ignored JELIS results during the 1st ADCOM fiasco.
Thanks Tal
I shudder to think where we'd be if Denner hadn't won the Proxy fight. Say PWO, how about a game of golf this afternoon? It's too hot KM, I'd rather filch the shareholders and actually get rid of all of them. I'm really bored with them. They don't realize how hard we work just to collect our stock options.
Would somebody please break the Whine Meter. I think it's out of calibration and it's stuck on Autowhine.
seve; It's all about perception. Since Novartis bought MEDCO for its PCSK9 drug. That was considered "perception that became reality." Maybe the Pharmas are more cautious now about acquisitions. I don't know the answer.
Maybe Denner has an ice machine in the trunk for when he sells ice cubes to Eskimos.
Little by little, Amarin is making in-roads. The deal doesn't close until the other party signs. KM and the Clowns may have started the ball, but it was too little too late. Someone has to finish the job.
You have no clue.
Hmmm? So when were you in Belarus? I was in Moscow in 1996. I saw the poverty and run down infrastructure. Lines of people along sidewalks trying to sell what little they had to live on. I also witnessed the Russian Police rousting people sleeping in the subways. Still the general public for the most part head their heads up through all the crap. It's not that way anymore. Except maybe in the Ukraine with a war being fed by US tax dollars.
I'll bet there's not many folks in Belarus holding signs along freeway entrances. Or camped out in front of State Capitols (Denver).
I'm not from Ohio numbnutz. Its called a "constant battle fighting corruption." Sometimes the jailers are the worst kind of people. Simping for Putin? Obviously you've been living under a rock all this time?
Oops, your right, I stand corrected. How about we rebuild Puerto Rico every Hurricane season?
Just an observation; when I visited the Netherlands Antilles islands in the Caribbean (Aruba, Curaçao) last December I noticed a distinct difference in how clean and organized these islands appeared. There were no homeless. The streets and businesses were immaculate. There was no poverty or what we would consider slums. When we visited St Lucia (US protectorate), it was totally opposite. As our tour bus drove through town you would see broken down vehicles, dilapidated buildings. One particular area it reminded me of areas of Rio de Janeiro, where you had the rich areas right next to slums with tin roofs. Oprah Winfrey has a residence in St Lucia, not far away is a small fishing village with many children barefoot. They live in shanties. As our bus drove through “shantytown” the street was barely wide enough for the bus, as there were shanty’s lined up on both sides. I often wondered why the tour buses even took this route? I guess because they wanted the tourists to see the “full extent” Historical area they said? It wasn’t a pretty sight. I never want to go back there again. But I wonder why the conditions were so different from the Dutch Antilles from the US Antilles? I think it’s all about the “give a crap attitude.” Obviously Americans don’t have it, Europeans do. Anything goes with no accountability.
